Whattap Krew, happy Chop Day!! :-D
jb, You have no idea how good my neighbors are. They are some of the nicest, most giving, caring people on the planet. It doesn't hurt that the Dood ran his father's bakery for ~15 yrs, and that the Ma'am cooks ~4-5 hrs a day. Everyday. AND she cooks with fresh, local veggies from the farmers market (if she or I didn't grow em, lol). AND she uses organic, un(or lightly)processed ingredients where available/practical. I think that the food that they are sending over has really helped keep my headaches at bay this fall. Oct 24, and only 2 or 3 'headache days', with no crushers.
I chopped a side by side this morning. I ran 3 SSH #1 cuts (formerly iffy, now known as One.) in hempys, each on a different food. Well, I started them on different food....
It's a 12wk ssh cut, and I had ~10 clones available toward the end of the summer. I had em vegging in the sun in 4"x4" pots of organic soil for ~2wks. I picked the 3 that seemed to be closest in plant/root development. There were 2 that were further along, and 4 or 5 that were a lil smaller/slower. I put em in 1 gallon hempy's, with ~10% homemade castings replacing the 25% vermiculite in the mix. 90% perlite, ~10% castings (plus the 4 x 4 x 4 organic soil that they came with...).
I transplanted, and flipped on the same day. For the first week, I just let them SIP water or water/molasses to encourage the roots to run. The second week, I hit the plants with 1/2 strength food 1 or 2x's, then full (bottle) strength till ~wk 4. I wanted to see the differences in plant growth between:
PBPpro (soil)/Liquid Karma
Techniflora BC Boost/Bloom/Awesome Blossoms
Fugazee Organic
I wasn't doing a 'true' scientific comparison (different lights/hoods/positions; no control(s); only 1 of each...), however, I did want to see if there was:
1. The possibility to match bottle performance with fugazee organics in a soiless medium.
2. A chemical taste from a plant grown completly (but lovingly, lol) with refined nutes.
3. Differences in the pheno/geno expression from different foods.
4. A distinct yeild difference between the 3 food types.
I was feeding just about every 2 days like clockwork:
(per gallon of tap water, slightly hard well water, tap Ph is ~6.5)
30ml PBP with ~1 feed a week with 5-10ml LK
15ml BC Boost & BC Bloom w/5ml Awesome Blossoms
10:1 pee, OR 3:1 wormbin runoff, OR bubbled compost tea. I like to eat a B vitamin the day before I give a pee feed, and probably all of the fugazee feeds had a lil molasses in em.
Wk 4 or so, I got an order from the hydro store with Plant Success soluble (bacteria/fungi). After watching it pump up my soil plants, I started to hit the side-by-side 1x per week (almost like a flush, PS and molasses only). The plants deffo liked it.
Wk 5 or so, I must have starved the fugazee plant somewhere, cause she got REAL N hungry. I gave her a feed with Maxicrop fish, and ~2 Tbsp of P guano. At 8 full weeks, I could see that the PBP plant was just dominating the other 2 (with the fugazee plant looking riper sooner) in plant/bud size, so I switched all 3 to PBP from weeks 9-10. Then I put all 3 on the starve/fugazee/starve package.
Anywhoo. Here are the plants. 12weeks, Awesome lemon pledge haze.
PBP plant (peep the lower)
Techniflora plant
Fugazee plant
The PBP DEFFO rolled out the bud on the other 2 plants for the ~2wks they got it. I was so impressed by the PBP plant, that I have another round of hempy's going (SuperSpices), and they will be on the PBP package. It takes a LOT to pry me away from my soil boxes.
Some lower, I have no idea which plant it's off.
