El Niño ~ La Niña Comparison thread.

El Niño 12-16-09 23 days of 12/12

The A plant has pulled ahead!
It's the Frostiest! By a good bit too, I might add.

Plant B
Do you think the coloring on the new growth should be addressed? Anyone?

And a look inside the cab as they sit. The flower chamber is roughly 30"wide x 20"deep.

Nice grow mate! I'll be popping back to keep an eye on this one for sure!

By the way, as you say your plants do look like they are suffering from Mg def, you should give them a dose of Epson Salts! To me though, I could be wrong but it looks as though your plants may be suffering from Leaf Spot Fungus (LSF), like a leaf rust. The best possible thing for that I've found is a product called "Plant Magic's Essence", I'm not sure what county you are from but this is sold in England (UK). Make sure to cut away all the affected areas's to avoid it spreading.

To me, all the way through its looked like Plant A is the better plant and the one I'd personally mother but like you say, it needs a smoke test! The plants look to me to be growing similar to the Pre-2000 El Nino mother I have here, which I think came from seed stock from Shab's mothers! It's an amazing plant, my favorite in fact! It's very stong and has a very moreish taste and smell! Mine has more of a sativa influance though.

It will be nice to see which you like to best and also for me to see which one looks closest to this mother I have.

Best of luck for the grow mate! Keep up the good work!

Hey DrGT, thanks for stopping by!

I was beginning to think the thread wasn't visible;)

I have given them a dose of CalMag+, it doesn't seem to be spreading.
Might still hit em with a light dose.

IDK about the LSF, never heard of it before. I'll keep a close watch to be sure. If there was a particular pic where you could show me the best view of what you mean, I'd like to know.

I don't think there's much sativa in these El Niño's.

I'm really excited now that the La Niña's have started!

Thanks again for the valued feedback.

Maybe you could post a pic of yours?

Good Growing!

Amazing plants... green from buttom to top, not overfed... nice.

Gonna get myself some LaNina/Early Girl from the old 2001 stock next week.

Oh man... and jeez SSH also, man that will rip my bank-account.

Thanks nOpe, I've never had nute burn issues with the Root's Organics line. I use it as per the schedule. I also really let the pots get light (without droop) before I water.

Sounds like a fun cross. You getting clones then?

I hear you on bank acct thing but man, as long as you can make rent, you won't think about that $$ when you've got a legendary strain like that!

I'll get there someday...

But in the mean time, I'm THRILLED to have these La Niñas growing now.

I germinated the rest of the seeds (11 - paper towell method.) And I've got 7 that look good so far. That's in addition to the 4 pictured already on this thread.

Thanks again to any and all who stop by and check this grow, sorry it's exactly the side-by-side I'd envisioned but all of the info/pics will be here.

Blessed Solstice

Grat your the man, thanks for the compare grow......things are lookin great, nibblin my nails tho as to which is nicer so far, hmmmmmm

Chris :D - Good to see you! Thanks for the comment. It's just gonna get better! More variety!

BlizzOut - Good to know! I was sorta being facetious, I know how it goes.
Now that I have 11 La Niñas growing I'm a lot more excited about their expression! Hopping for lots O' ladies.

Another update (pics) should be along before the week is out.

Cheers to all,

Grat

12-26-09 More La Niña!

Hey all, I wasn't satisfied with just 4 plants given the possibilities for Males and my desire to see some different phenos, so I germed the rest of my seeds and got 7 more. Yes there are 2 in one cell. No I didn't mean for that to happen. Yes, I'm going to separate them.

I have 3 clones of each plant growing well.

Here's the Niños. The yellowing has gotten pretty bad. Shoulda kept giving them N but as far as I know all I can do now is give them some next time...

My yellow Star...the A plant. Didn't mean for this pic to be quite so big, sorry.

Wow, those GHS fem look like some real indica dominant plants for the Nina we see here at MNS which is much more Hazy from all i've seen but this is a GHS knock off i'm shocked there are no hermies, i was gonna do a side by side with a bunch of Rhino's once and the GHS hermied killing my whole comparison project...i'm quite impressed at this point at your growing skills and those plants look so solid in terms of structure and yield...hope she smokes as good as she looks and thanks for the grow log...many of us are enjoying it

every photo i see of GHS strains have the same big indica leaf structure, i don't understand how their Rhino, Neno, and SSH have these big indica leaves...shows how inbred their stuff has become or how they use the same base plant in many lines, you are doing great gratitude, i just hate GHS claims on their genetics

are those fems also, and if so how did the cloning go, i'm shocked no hermies!

Astute observations.
SBD420 - I really want the Hazy side of things. I'd have been pretty disappointed if I'd just purchased the El Nino hoping for a haze expressive pheno. Thanks for the kind words. I hope she smokes alright too, it's gotta be my stash till the next batch is ready. I wouldn't have planned to have only GHS in my stash but it's temporary.

godislove - no offense taken, I was hoping for a lot more sativa myself but not so much... The only other GHS strain I've grown was the Cheese, which didn't have such fat fans as this. It also wasn't as good as what they sold me in the shop. Never Hermed though.

The little C plant did throw a few balls. I picked them off and resealed the cab door, it had gotten a little loose and there WAS a minor light leak. The A and B plants seem unaffected but the C plant was right next to the leak... keeping a close eye on it.

New pics should be coming along soon. Thanks to all for checking it out.

Gratitude
