El Niño ~ La Niña Comparison thread.

11/26/09

Hey SP - I'm a lefty too. They'd be flatter and less dome like if the stalks had been thinner. As it was I could barely get them to bend over.

P Strar - Thanks man, I was specifically referring to the El Niños, when I made the bland comment. To be fair, I really am enjoying the GHS Cheese that I harvested a month ago. The aroma and flavor are very complex and quite delicious. It's just not much at all like the Cheese I bought at their shop that day. And it's not very potent.

Alright, pics.
These girls have been vegging under a 400w Red Spectrum MH (Sunmaster Warm Delux), it's still bluer than a Blue Spectrum HPS.
But now, I've installed a new (EYE) Hortilux 400w HPS and switched the lights.
Pics were taken on 11/26 after one 12hr night.

15 points on this leaf. Some are growing from seems to be a second row.

I wouldn't bet my life on it, but if I shall give it a try, I might say a slight Fe and or N deficiency due to a pH imbalance ? Or too much water (so not enough oxygen for the roots) ?

Hey man thanks for taking a stab.

Every other response I got on this was an Mg def.
I'm gonna add some CalMag+ to the next feeding and see if that helps...It also contains Iron.

I'm really confident that it's not about overwatering.

I'll keep you all updated.

La Nina's are sprouting!
I soaked them overnight in water, then planted in the soil.
3 of 11 @ 24hrs.

There are 4 healthy La Niña seedlings growing ATM, still fairly disappointing germination rate. I used 11 seeds 4 have some portion visible but not normal growth...like they were having a tough time getting out... 4 are growing well, so 8 out of 11 showing visible signs of viability is good... but 4 plants out of 11 seeds is not so hot...
I may just try and germ the rest next week. Not sure yet.

Good to see you finally got some Niña going

I was looking at the flowchart and see that La Niña is the only strain that contains "Original Haze B" (Mullumbimby Madness) so it will be a new experience for you.

It will ALL be a new exp for me. I've not actually smoked any of the MRN strains yet. I'm really excited.

L33t pointed out in his thread that there is also no Skunk in this one.
That says 2 things to me, lower yield, and higher potency.

I'm looking forward to the ride!

Not to be tooo fussy but I think it's "La" since it's feminine. "El" is for masculine.
Either way it means "The".

AFA germing went, I've got 4 healthy plants working on the second set of true leaves and 4 that tried but didn't make it... it's unusual for me to have such trouble with sprouting. I'm going to pop the rest to make sure I have enough females to find the keepers. The second round should be big enough to flower by the time "the boys" come down.

That's the plan anyway.

Thanks for tuning in.

P.S. Sorry to be redundant with my post in your thread HHHG.

And the moment we've all been waiting for!

La Niña!
Taken on the 11th.
I've decided to go with the # on the original tags in each cell.

I soaked these seeds overnight, then put them in the dirt on the 25th of November.
For the record, I've never done it that way before, only the paper towel method in the past, 4 out of 11 means I'll go back to the paper towel.
