EARLY QUEEN: hangin with the queens

I just smoked a bowl hit of some EQ male leaves for selection and all i can say is WOW! 2 hours gone and i'm still as wasted as i sometimes get from commercial bud......i never realized that males were even smokeable.

geurilla farming is tough

I've been nettled, thorned, cut, bruised and i'm tired :p but my first 5 EQ's of the season have been planted out under moonlight :D

HEY GUYS!!

hey all. awesome to have so many of you here.. please remember, these is YOUR thread.. so please treat it as such...

-just chopped second run of a couple Queens.. difference is huge.. yeah, we'd expect more resin, but, even the bud structure has evolved... the big surprise to me was the change of color of eQ2's stigmas.. from 1st run's yellow to a magenta... .

*due to issues with mold in my area, the direction i took with run2's training/shaping was to encourage many golf ball buds, and avoid colas..
here's a close up of the plant pictured above..

here's the hand rubbed from de-leafing her. mind you that's from de-leafing, not fine manicuring, so there'll b more to come off her..

** hey elmer..regarding your walkabout pic, does seem to echo the eQ somewhat.. though with the queen being a 3 way hybrid, she does seem to have a pleasingly wide variation of phenotypic expression to discover- ie i still feel like a noob in terms of 'KNOWING HER'.. thats my observation anyway.. By week 4-5 they become much more defined and identifyable by bud structure and smell. i definately wanna get my hands on early pearl X skunk..

cheers all....... ... . . ..j j

late edit. think i just found a mad superskunk pheno... she's on her 1st run, about four and a half weeks into bud. reminds me of my '09stock black dominas 'cept she has a freshness and vigour my doms could only have dreamt about.. its developing resin real aggressively, a real 'NOT F*KING AROUND' type demeanor about her, if u follow.. , but still with a nice sweetness in her aroma- so far.. fingers crossed. I'M KINDA OVER OVERLY DANK PLANTS at current. MAD! MAD! MAD!

2011 here we Grow! Good luck everyone, cant wait to see all the different results from around the northern hemisphere in the coming months. Seems like she does well in the southern half as well but mould is still an issue down under. A proper sativa cross is in need like early haze maybe is the better choice for in the south.

Seems you are coming accross some nice ones JJ. There is variety in there but a very consistant strain i would say, two thumbs up. The best i found so far is a shorter, compact one with small leaves, yet thin sativa like leaves and the resin to match plus a fresh, sweet smell and flavor. Ive observed the same as you as far as running phenos multiple times. they get better and eventually reach their full expression.

Cheers!:D

Edit- Elmer i agree with JJ, EP remanicent, 'Nice' identifacation! I will deffinately be watching to see how she turns out, along with all your other boys and girls, you have a good variety of things goin', at least one cross is bound to be spectacular!

Dimebag would b proud.

so here she is. 4th girl out, and i think i've found a winner. just chopped her 1st run a couple of days ago, but i'm real excited bout her prospects.. nEone who has been workin with cannabis for some time knows a winner when they meet one; and she IS a winner.. yeah, yeah, 1st run so i know- PRELIMINARY WINNER, then. she (seedplant) was chopped at 8weeks, so her cuts will be fast. she's chunky, resinous, and smells beautifuly sweet- kinda reminds me of sensi's maple leaf indica i grew out 2000- 2001, a syrupy sweetness.. also, judging by her bud structure, which has a nice(desirable) amount of stretch between the nodes in the colas, my guess is she'll be relatively impervious to mould.. i plan to test this.

don't know, but for me, this plant reminds me of (pantera's) Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing- while aggresive, it was always brimming with JOY..

My favorite guitar player, and quite a fine Queen you got there! Without a doubt he'd toke that up! Wish i had the time this winter to give her a proper run like you did JJ, hopefully i can make up for it in the coming months with some outdoor...:D

She's got a flat head but i consider that a good thing;)

musical interlude

1. Kerry King (slayer)
2. Hendrix
3. Frank Zappa

Hows that #4 smoke jj? Popped 50 F2's for a corn feild grow last week:D we will see what happens...

PS-Hendrix helped me out last weekend yo, on my road trip... HaHa!

she's still in the cure... so i'll know soon..

Hendrix is perfect road trippin music.. watchtower and voodoo(slight return) and little wing(live) being my fav.. voodoo child litterally gets the room illuminated with swirling lights for me! Bob Dylan is awesome too.. oh, and slayer! but slayer is always good for me!haha..

the girls on their 3rd run are really starting to come alive and showing their true potential! their smell is becoming increasingly addictive.. such a pleasant sweetness, i find myself gently squeezing them before i leave the garden just so i can sniff my hand for the next 5 mins! brings a whole new ( and better ) meaning to 'smell my finger'!
OK, some pics soon.... cheers fun, cheers all! . ... .jj

re: photography --tried to see what i could get under HIDs... good,, bad,, gettin better, i guess...

Way to go Jondo, you've got some beautiful Early Queens going! Likely one of the better EQ threads Ive seen, keep up the good work brother! :)

warm n fuzzy

hey all.
cheers no show.. yeah that pheno in particular gets real purple/fall.. it's been real cold too (14celsius night), so we'll wait and see what warmer temps do.

cheers EB. they're like living sculptures, these plants..! good seed, then get out of the way and try not to stuff it up too much, eh?

cheers bucket. too kind. always up for guitar talk! ur more punk, i'm more metal.. don't know Maggot Brain or Jonny Thunders.. should i?

cheers jessE thanks bud. it had it's magic moments, when it really felt like a communal affair.! thanks to ALL PARTICIPANTS. !!!!!

hey bucketbong. yeah i know funkadelic, a bit anyway.. my favourite guitar solo passage has got to be Frank Zappa's "the muffin man" absolutely not of this planet! he says things unspeakable thru his guitar on that one! it's live, Austin Texas.. madness, ranting, heartbreaking and oh so articulate.. genius, in short. straight from the soul of heartbreak..... love love love it!! please check it out !

p.s. my first cat was named iommi!

You sure got some 'Nice' plants there JJ, what does one of those bushes yeild?

It sure was a great thread, but i still have some more to contribute in the coming months....So it ain't over untill the F2's sing!

Cheers

Great thread guys......well i've got 67 clones out and it's up to mother nature now......i've also got 2 flowering in a scrog setup and flowering my 2 moms in my bedroom.......being the first quality beans i've used, i can't wait to get a smoke from them.

peace out...cw

hey Celtic. -now we're talking. now them numbers are certainly the numbers fit for a warrior!

hey fun. sorry for the tardy response.. but i know u aint mad. that particular pheno would probably b more productive outdoors, where light penetration isn't hindered by the inverse square law.. that's the last sizeable run i'm doing of her as she requires a high amount of lollipoping.. small sea of green would suit her best. done that size, under 600watts per metre, i struggle to get her above 4.5oz.. whereas with my AK, with the same amount of attention and space hogging, 6-6.5 is the result. my AK has the perfect structure for HID grows and ripens evenly, even right down to the base.

also, even tho i personally like the sweet smell and 'peacefull' vibe of her fruit, the local market just want dank, stinky sticky. thus, the sharks... peace all, ,, ,jj
