I really like the Plants I chose to grow 1st. The Queens and the EPSKHze are amazingly easy plants to care for and are very vigarous. Great for 1st time growers, they will yeild a lot of cannabis per plant. I should maybe clean them up of the 23-4 and 5 branching in the lower 1/3, and perhaps into the thick of the foliage bit I'm not to bothered about that.
I will look into this and that after pollination.
There is a range of leaf morphology in the Queens and the Haze however the overall form distributed through the cultivars is great and I think that the Queens are very similar in the primary phenotypes. I will be wanting to get more of these from the MNS Vault.
The rain has caused a magnesium or other Zinc Iron issue in my scrog plant and it is showing some of the signs that made me select it and place it into the field not the greenhouse. I am going to let the bed dry a little and I will use some asprin to combat the pH which is a little high now the bed has leached. I will also use this feed on the Queens and the other plants as the UV index dropped with the rain and I want no pests to get comfy. The Asprin is my choice weapon as it also will trigger SAR and it's more stable than using other things I have on hand. The 'Magnesium' I think it's Zinc and Iron issue in the narrow and shallow part of the bed, the plant is beginning to bloom and I expected this to happen. Currently it is translocating nitrogen from the lower shaded growth due to some lockout but it's like 3 little stems and I don't want it spreading. I have not fed this plant in 3 weeks, a long time and the last time I did it was with some gypsum 'yeso agrícola'. I did marl a lot of sulpher powder into the mix and cook for this bed but it has been months and I didn't expect the plant to become this big. I thought it might die months ago. I will allow the bed to dry and amend it with some pH'd water, use the asprin and wait a week. I foliar fed it today with Maxicrop organic seaweed as I really rate that stuff and I want this Organic. I did drive some natural canes into the bed a week ago and there are many variables that are playig on my mind but the Rain and the heavy metals I believe are the main culprits. I also threw all the media from the males I killed onto the bed which is another variable and I do not want to use Sulphur again as it may cause issues with nitrogen and potassium uptake. I will aim for a 6.2-5 pH and see what happens. It's not spreading so I am fairly sure that it will remedy itself.
Loosing this plant isn't a problem as I have many clones of it I just would rather it not go to shit. It's mother likes to do this. I find this trait is one of the ones that gives the foul or loud stinky plants.
This later sowing of Queens show to all be homogenous for the flowering performance, the one plant pictured was the second to hit the field and it is the most advanced at this stage.. They all triggered at roughly the same time frame and I feel that it was the maturity stage of the plants more than the reduction of the DLI that shifted them all into differentiation. Thigmomorphogenic has influenced them, they are touching eachother like a lesbian porno shading eachother and blooming through thre undergrowth.
I did not document the start of these as much as I put into my earlier sowings as I have more things on and life was a bit up and down. I also had some issues with the Pregrow in cell's effecting the rooting at transplant. I will continue to use the cells for future growing but I know that I need to use a spacing that is different as the rapid above soil growth was vastly quicker then the below soil growth and plants were shading their siblings before the roots had fully engulfed the media in the cells and this was what I feel in hindsiget at this stage led to some of the plants becoming larger then their siblings.
In future tests I will use a media that is sieved to a finer size as this will allow the roots to penetrate and encapsulate the plugs for easier transplanting. The larger aggregate of char and bark is very good at keeping them lush and green but it is not ideal in cells. Removing plants from the plugs was tricky without the media strata being sufficiently rooted so that the germination media was all present going into the transplant containers when I potted up to the cotyledons. This influenced the growth of the plants differently and some had bigger feet for a period that allowed them to become more advanced in the initial stages of pregrow. I think that the germination was all homogenous all the plants recieved the same time in the priming and all have been in the cells pots for the same period of time some with maybe a bit more vigour, it was the indervidual phenotypes that influenced final transplants into the field and this is where the plants took off with the biomass. I was lucky to find 2 male phenotypes one of which I have kept and the other was not my ideal choice for structual reasons.
The Haze plants I had 2 sowings of I have been lucky to get 2 really NLD phenotypes that one could say are leaning towards the Male side of the hybrid and I think there are many intermediate plants. As shantibaba says there are 15/70/15 I have some other genetics with Early Pearl Skunk and there are similaraties, the Haze however has given the plants the real thin leaf and unriavalled branching that is really ideal and they are wonderful. I cannot get them into a picture as they have entwined with eachother and the plant yet to show sex. Part of me hopes this other plant isn't a male so I don't have to kill it. I must remember to take some cuttings...
This is a test grow and I would be happy to plant these 2 varaties every season for the remainder of my growing life but I will need to grow some different things also
I am going to go through them all over the next few years.
