Dancing With the Angels

Now at 12/12, they are of various heights perhaps bc of the bad start but they are growing like sativas nonetheless and yet not as tall as the moxie mangos! Those girls are regular bean stalks for sure, approaching 50 inches already- in less than a week of 12/12 lol. They began at approx 24 inches as I recall. I’ll post pics of them in the next few days. They are all consistently taller than the AB. Sativas can be fun but really, they deserve to be grown outside where they can run free. Happy to be “on the road again..”

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

* orig posted in wrong thread.
The room is filling up. The AB have regained their health and are coming along nicely. Flower clusters are forming and coming into view. They are in the back while the taller Moxie Mangos are in the front. I do need to trim the bottoms up.

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

Still in the vertical growth stage as we finish week 5 of flower. Soon they will begin to fill out and get heavy with buds, needing support. They were pollinated yesterday. I selected 13 females out of the group to include both AB and mostly Moxie females. They are ready for a little bending as they are exceeding the height of the fixtures. They are over 6 feet now as you can see; the Moxie being predominant in height. The second LED will be put to use in the near future. There is a slight fragrance beginning to hang in the room, it is one of sweetness. Stay tuned.

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

I bring you your weekly AB grow report! Approaching end of week 5, they are taller now but vertical growth is slowing. Not as tall as the Moxie's but definitely looking sativa these days. The germination with MHI pollen was successful and the seeds seem to be developing quicker than the Moxie seeds. I have the typical bud and leaf expression but I do have some plants expressing more tendril-like characteristics, singular leafs, more foxtail. It is a happy grow room so far.

AB #10- more fenotrigo characteristics. She is developing more trichs at this point, covering leaves and stalks.

AB10 looks like wild/feral plants you can spot on roadsides in the himalaya.

Hey Mu, in the near future, I too am going to be using MHI pollen and I could use your advice regarding picking the chosen male.
Or doesn’t even matter with MHI?
If I have more than one to pick from, what traits do you look for?
🤙

There's a lot of information on the site about this. The stated way is to select/identify, work the singular male and submit many females to his germ to identify the traits that he may impart. There's the usual not too early to flower, not too much energy in fiber production, max flower/pollen production, smell, early trich production and general morphology, etc. in his selection. I have kept males like this in the past to duplicate this process but anyone who has done this realizes it is a lot of work involving a lot of time and space to do this correctly.
My earlier Doors venture involved 4 selected males x 14 selected females. I kept the male pollen separate and pollinated a total of 56 branches! I'm still sorting thru all the seeds. Crazy.
In this latest MHI pollen venture, I relied on the homogeneity of the MHI keeping 6 similarly looking males and for simplicity combined their pollen for germination. I wanted maximum exposure to all genetic variation coming from the MHI males. I selected certain AB females for pollination. All pollinated AB females will provide the basis for an AB x MHI hybrid project to be done in the future; continuing to narrow selections in successive generations. Perhaps this might be unorthodox, even ass backwards for some but I am not so focused on immediately finding the One as I am just enjoying the discovery process. I can say that I am confident in the resulting prodigy that will come using MrNice stock.
The MHI IBL plant; it’s characteristics and homogeneity can contribute to the making of great hybrids. So read up on the right ways to do it and then decide how you personally want to proceed. Thanks for asking brah.

Here's a few pollinated females . Both are syrup sticky already with weeks left to go :)

👍👍👍
It’s already a Shanti IBL, so I’m going with your logic.
Txs Mu 🤙
