Clone Shift?

I have 2 clones that I have had for ~9 months. SSH #1, and Spice. I was looking at my priceless 'At-A-Glance' calendar, and I noticed that I am ~8wks 12/12 for the Spice. The last clone I took 70 days to be 'funny', but this one looks at least 10 days away, if not 2+wks. I had been taking her ~50-55 days all summer. Now she looks like a 9/10 wk cut.

The SSH 1 was a long flowering seedplant, going 12 wks 12/12 and wanting a lil more. The cut has been ripe @ 11wks, and READY @ 12 all summer. My lil at a glance says that I have a cut ~10 wks, and she looks almost there.

These are both cuts of cuts of cuts, etc... Probably 4th-6th gen. How likely is it that the clones 'shift' as I keep/replace them? The effects and smells haven't changed noticeably, that's why I've kept em!! I've seen threads here where members have had clones for a LOT longer, and would love to hear their experiences with keeping clones LONG term. Do they 'find' themselves? Will they 'shift' forever? Am I crazy???

:D

A friend of mine made his own plant he called Afghanni pink about 12 years ago now, he didnt keep a mom plant and kept cloning the clones over and over for about 8-9years,

By this time he told me the afghani pink he'd cloned over n over had lost allot of vigour of growth and the yield had decreased somewhat, and going by the clones id gotten off him they had diseased white spot comming through every grow we both did, the high was as good as it was 8-9 years ago,

Some varietys might last out 20 years or longer if they dont catch these fungal diseases that is, things like this damaged my mates plant like i said,

Ive never seen any this old up close and still in good nick though, some folks just wont admitt there precious cloned clone is fucked anyways, lol but true.

thats why its always better to keep as many copies in different places as possible and always make new clones so they tissue is always fresh and never clone off a diseased plant , sooner or later it will cause you probs. Old mothers are good but you must be careful with them as the older they get the more susceptible to health probs they become

Some plant won't last as long , just like you said , but I m sure with perfect environment you can keep them quite long time.In the end of the day you can keep making seeds from the lines you like so you keep genetic backups in seedform , not as good as clones when you preserve genes but still works and has more or less worked for thousands of years

I'm really only just getting into this whole cloning business!

Noticed with my current cannadentials(first gen)the phenotype expression if that is the correct term has altered quite a bit from the original seed plants.Basically i had a much more indy dom-the la,and a much more sativa dom-the cannalope haze. Now they have balanced out(not totally though) to be more of the 50/50 hybrid they were bred to be i gather from DNA's description(s).Also i didnt mix the clonies up at the start lol just incase was wondering...well pretty sure anyway:D

anyway it makes me wonder what the next round will be like(when i run them, hoping to grow some mns next). Also yeild does not look as good this time.....might have been a bit nute shy this time round 2.Will know soon anyway

Gday L33t,as always i'm cracking out the notebook when you post mate.cheers!

So, everyone's clones stay the same from the C1 gen till eternity? No one has had a similar exp??? Well, until I see some clones stay EXATCLY the same, I will be putting less and less faith in the 'clone-only' hype, OR the value of keeping a plant very long.

If I am on a hunt for a plant that does a 'certain' thing, and I'm poppin seeds to find it. Why am I going to stop if I find a plant that comes reasonably close? There is no telling which way it will 'shift'. I doubt that I would have kept this Spice if it took 9/10 wks from the seedplant/first few 'C' gen's.

I understand that the same plants will express different traits in different grow environments. I saw that myself with this Spice, and to less of an extent the Shits that I ran outside and in this summer. I have seen the Shits in a different grow room, and didn't recognize them (same cut I have, but don't run that much) until I got in for the 'grope and smell'. However, MY grow environment hasn't changed very much at all. Why would the clones want to take MORE time on 1 plant (than the C1,C2,C3 gen's), and look like they take a lil less time on another?

No one else has seen this on cuts that they kept for 8mo or longer (c6 or longer)???
