AFHZ x AS Test Beans

Thanks, Herb! I was looking for a Medical Strain for sleep? I am very interested do to the Extreme smell I here about. I am sure she will do the job, as it looks like a quality genetic, and only a few have it.:cool: I had a troublemaker female, but she was a harsh,hermy,specimen to behold. The Afghan Haze from what Scorpion says, could be the one for sleep and relaxation in the evening? Thanks, resinbud

i have been told three pheno's, but no idea first hand.

the jaggedytooth leaf trait has my attention fixed atm. that would be number 4 and it's looking like it's a she. pretty sure no. 1 is male. thinking that maybe 3 is a female too. a few more days maybe we'll see.

soon they will all show.....waiting patiently......
 
right on bro.....

i have another male it seems now. number 5 has a claw that sprouted, so we wait hehe.

a week or so has passed for them in the bloomer and they have almost doubled in height. maybe in another week they will stop and begin to set.

might have to crack a few more beans and get another fem or 2, not sure yet. peace

may end uo with 4 male one fem...back to the straw we go........soon we might have drown some beans

ya I think afghanhaze fits the bill for a medical strain.
to me it is a very enjoyable experience,very euphoric,mello would be a good description.
the aroma is found only in excellent drug cannabis strains,like Thai/Columbian
with just a wee bit of the sweet afghan maple syrup aroma.
the taste is sweet on the tongue,mild on the lungs. no harshness in this lady,she is a champion in my book.
on my AH x AS I have six females...on the SSH,3 females so far,waiting for the others to show.

3 ladies 2 gents totali

number 4 is indeed a lady she unfurled a sweet pistil today.:D

#5 has a pistil up top about to open looks like...... so after all it seems 3 lassies and 2 gents who both are so lush and unreal. the only diff in the males is about an inch and a half and a slightly shorter internode distance...will look for more difference...
pods are going to open in a few days so i will i have make some preparations

the smell is heavenly and they green color is rich and deep pics soon....peace

5 will be a male as it has claws all over.

#5 was slow to grow and is sensitive to the artificial light. it is the runt of this grow.
it will not be selected as the parent.

A1 is the best candidate for the male parent. he sprouted first of all the beans and
flowered fastest and showed sex the earliest. he is also the shortest of the 2 males which are almost identical.

i am still waiting on 5. can't believe it...these are slow to unfurl...they take their sweet time apparently..... the 2 males are confined though and all is well

the stretch after 2 weeks in bloom...was about 2.5 x

the males are more smelly than the ladies ..tick tock

so we have 2 ladies and 3 gents............


after considering the ratio, and all things , it looks like i should get a full sample of pollen from ea male and pollenate with it.
i have to decide how to go about it. it will be nice to get beans and some nice herb at the same time....


#4 has just now gone over 3 foot. #3 is close behind in height...this was at 3 weeks or so

thinking about seeding cuttings of everything i have atm with them......

just another thank you Sb.....

for the opportunity afforded us by your generous heart.:)

the ladies are doing exceediingly well.
they are 6 foot or so now and only growing taller ever so slightly.
no stress has been put upon the ladies re: height control
if these go 3 months, i will have to arc them.

these 2 are very different. #4 has the beautiful scent..5 barely has any noticable odour. 4 smells like lemony citrus zest mixed with a hint of little vanilla bean and is changing slowly. 5 smells like nothing except for a spot or two where there is a light fruit smell which is very nondescript. #5 has no trichs yet though
4 has heavily indica influenced buds and 5 has sativa type buds with plenty of wispy leaf and airy classic sativa clusters.......quite the contrast........#4 is covered in trichs

all of the pollen has now been gathered and the males are gone. soon we will
make a few beans :p peace

one is finishing

A4 seems to be about ready. i will break out my camera soon for some pics.

there is about 30-40-% amber trichs on her. the rest are milky with very few clear left. she is the one with the more indica influence in her buds. this is week 7 for a4 so i am thinking this may be an either an 8 weeker or she got sprayed with too much stray pollen and she is seeded and maturing early.
a5, the other sativa leaning fem is nowhere near done. there are few trichs and they are all very close to the clusters themselves. they do have a nice undescribable aroma though. a4 is covered in trichs even many of the leaves are covered, yet a5 you cannot really see them without a glass or similar.

the yield on a4 will be very light. however the quality of this pheno is apparent in the physics and the aroma and i cannot wait to see how she smokes. she smells like piney lemon/lime zest with a real clean and fresh smell....
i have a couple of clones in there also so i will see how they do w/o pollen......pics incoming

great to hear the grow is going really well, looking forward to seeing the pics, your description on a4 sounds spot on to 1 of the phenos i had, had to chop it around the 80 days flowering (had to take grow down due to xmas approaching), trichs were only at the milky stage so i'm guessing that 1 could of went close to 100 days to fully ripe, looked like a pure sat by the look of it and the way it grew, tasted like lime haze (pretty close to an NL#5xHaze pheno)

aye this pheno is like a sativa skelly but the buds are tight. the skunk and affie are shining through it seems. this thing has amber all over her as well as milky and here at 8 weeks there are still 10% or so clear trichs.....
since i have had pollen around, i cannot tell if this is a true 8 weeker or 10-13 weeks......
i am not ashamed to say i have no experience with sativas mainly and shanti's work as i love indicas. this pheno has tight buds that i love and the aroma is absolutely uncanny and fresh.
apparently the healing is goin to the head moreso this bout ehehe:eek:

i wonder if anyone has had any fast finishers out of the afhs x as cross from shantibaba?



the second lady (who is not pictured here) is more of a classic sativa. light airy and the trichs are almost invisible..they reside tight to the buds themselves and smell sort of like fresh plastic after it is molded, i know kinda wierd, but i cannot nail down this aroma at all.
she looks no where near ready and i have no idea when the or if the trichs will spread out or even get more noticable..time will tell


A4 she is marvellous......tight tight buds my favourite type on a sweet sativa frame...i know this pheno is special...remember the double edge sawtooths?
can't wait another few days to try her out.
