A little long to sex?

of four mango's from seed, 21 days 3 had shown sex, 2 girls, one boy. The fourth however, over 8 days later, still hasn't.

Mean anything to anybody? Hazy Pheno?

Also, are short squat, symmetrical, low stretch males good? I hear the taller faster ones are more fibrous and to avoid those, and the slower to sex shorter squatter ones are desired.

What light schedule have they been on?

A couple of mine took well over 5 weeks to show preflowering, though I started them on 20/4 for the first 3 weeks or so before switching to 12/12.

3 or 4 days straight 24on ... then 12/12 since

others sexed, just a matter of pheno expression. Will be kept if it turns out to be a boy. Typically the later ones to show are usually girls.

That is pretty much my understanding.

Also (though it's prolly not so much of an issue with these sat doms) late showing of sex tends to indicate no auto tendencies and so is a desirable trait indoors, IMO.

I have 3 MH @ 18/6 for 28 days, starting their 10th node, however there are no alternating internodes and there are no preflowers yet either. They are getting big real quick.

They might be females (As far as I know cannabis maturity is not dependant on photoperiod length, and as mentioned above late maturity tend to present female plants) I'm happy because so far all 3 plants look like they are different phenos.

One has short and equal length internodes, medium-fat leaves which are 9 finger in the last node and starting to show 11 fingers in the next node, and it is medium sized compared to the other two. The other two are more like the menorah or the bird structure as described by cannatari in his journal, both have less than 9 fingers, normal sized leaves, and one is the tallest of the group and the other is the shortest, but all are about the same size.

I will be taking clones as soon as they show preflowers and flower the seedplants, and run clones 2 more times after, for a total of 3 harvests before I make my first choice and start running more seeds.

So far the plants look promising, I want to post pictures to see what you guys think about the phenos.

Hi Puday,

There are some really long flowering ones in the mix. My MH#7 went for 30 weeks at 12/12 from clone. If I grow this one again I will definitely be looking at 10/14 but due to other projects I decided to let that one run her course.

It was the nicest smoke out of the bunch but not worth waiting that long for. I can't remember how long it took to sex but it should come as no surprise that was the last one to show.

You might have something similar.

I'm like a little kid waiting for Xmas.

I was looking around and found what seems to be calyxes on two of the plants @ 29 days, but there still no alternating internodes. I took some macro pics but I'm still learning so the pictures are not great. The other plant which hasn't showed pre-flowers is the actually the first seed I germed so it is @ 32 days, let's hope for a female sativa.

The shortest is reaching 1ft and producing its 11th node.

good luck

I had 20 plants. At week 8 10 plants showed sex, six females, four males. I waited another 3-4 weeks for the remaining ten plants to show sex. They were all males.

Strains are Shit and NL5 x Sk1

I hate to say it, but whenever I've had a REALLY late shower, like more than a week behind the rest in the group, it does turn out to be a girl AND it does not turn out to be a strong/keeper type pheno.

Others may have different experience, but it's an auto assumption in my operation.
