80s Nl5xHz

Mum looks lovely. Shape reminds me of goshawks med man as they are at the minute. Small springy bush!

Cute colourful bud at the end there.

Thanks for sharing fella

so let me see if i am following this correctly.

originally shanti and nevil grew thousands of NL5 x Haze A and NL5 x Haze C

from this single grow ... the best two plants were 5hzC1 5hzA122

okay ... so this wold lead me to believe that the 5hzA122 was a mango pheno. And the MNS Mango haze is simply just Shantibaba's replication of this 5hzA122?

That would make perfect sense. However lol .. and here's where i scratch my head ... I thought the mom of the super silver and the mom of mango haze(current offering) was the same. Okay then ... that's confusing considering that would mean the original Mango pheno NL5hzA122 was never even used to make the current mango haze.

Shanti please clarify.

Also was NL5hzA122 a girl or boy?

ssh=5hzc1 x skhzc
mangohz=5hzc122 x skhza
:):):):)

appreciate the speedy response, thanks ...

Now correct me if I am wrong, Shanti previously stated that there is one difference between the mango haze and the super silver. You're lineage shows two differences.

1) different moms
2) different dads

Also, I believe I read clearly that the SSHaze and the MHaze have the SAME mom

If this is the case ... then they used either 5Haze1 or 5Haze122.

With that said ... if they used 5Haze1 ... well why didn't they use the mango pheno for the mango haze? and if they did use the 5Haze122 (Mango pheno) as the mom .. well then why doesn't super silver haze throw mango phenos?

Most important question I have right now is this .. .that original 5haze thousand of plant grow Nevil did ... was it A5 and C5 haze crosses or just C5? And was 122 a C or A haze?

okay i appreciate the clarification.

I thought the super silver and the current mango had the same mom and just the dad was different. I was incorrect there...

While we're on the subject. The mns skunk haze I sampled in Cali over the weekend was great. This particular one has a mango note, the smell was out of this world. It rivaled what I know as Puday (NYC Haze) in terms of smell... Damn Shanti nice work!

The high was strong, the taste was classic, very strong taste ... same as it smelled... and it lingered for a long long time on the palette. Keeper!

All you NYC Haze fans might want to run the skunk/haze ... Why anyone would have only nl5 haze .. and then silver and mango and skip right over the straight skunk-haze cross is beyond me.

one of the phenos I saw and smelled was practically 100% haze. Beautiful nugs probably no larger than a cigar in thickness when finished. But dank!

Pine astringent metal but more ... aghh man .. i need to fly back out there in a few weeks and sample that.

Anyway thanks for all of the clarification.

Nevil grew thousands of those.
This was before Shanti came into the picture.
Just to set the record straight.
Cheers.

This has always confused me. I thought the mother of SSH and MH was the same, NL5HzC.

And the fathers were:
SSH - SkHzC
MH - SkHzA

Are the mothers different too?

Most of the work I did was with batches of 40-50 seeds at a time.
The variety I grew the most of was NL5xHzC. No.1 came out in the first batch of about 20 females. Over the years I've grown many 1000s. In most respects, it was still the best. No.122, the one Shanti dubbed the Mango, came after years of searching, a tireless quest on my part. Aspiring growers often came to me and I regularly made them start with 5Hz seed. There are a few cuts around from those exploits, but they weren't as good as 1 and 122. But almost. As I said before, there's not a sea of difference between the best out of 50 and the best out of 1000. But there is a difference for the most discerning.

well what the forum members are saying thus far in this thread is that "yes" the mothers for the mango haze and the super silver are different.

I believe I had read differently at some point so later on I will research this. It's been covered many times. I was under the same impression as you Betterhaff that the mothers of the two strains were the same but again I'm hearing now this is not the case. I could swear I read Shanti posting this fact.

It would make more sense if you think about it that the 122 mango pheno is the mother of the mango haze and the NL5HazeC1 is the mom of the super silver ...

i'm still a little confused, I'll look into it. Believe me i'm not losing sleep over it ... just curious. I'll see if I can find that post by Shanti at some point.

Sam can you verify, or second the others notion (Elmer for example) that the 122Haze was a C hybrid and not an A. Just for posterity sake. Trying to get the ducks in a row.

By the way ... oh I already told you all ... skunk haze is awesome lol derrr:o

Hi,

Shanti is right about them being the same in the sense they both are NL5HzC but they differ in phenotype.

5HzC1 and 5HzC122 both emerged out of the same main cross namely NL5xHzC.

The difference between them is like 2 children from the same parents, making the two of them like sisters.

NL5HzC is like a lastname. 1 and 122 is the first name.
Sister plants.
These girls are both what we named here C5Hz.

Nevil also did the A5Hz = NL5xHzA and many others such as HPHz=Hash PlantxHzC, AG13 = G13xHzA, CG13=G13xHzC, NH=A5xHzC and many more

As far as i know Nevil made these hybrids before he worked with Shanti.

All the best,
YS

Thanks everyone :)

It really is as if they are parallel crosses in that case ... cool

Any of you smoke the original C1 or C122? my pals are always puffing on some sensi NL5haze. I have no idea if it is C or A... or neither. Who knows what they're doing over there at Sensi. Its new stock though.

I gather both C1 and C122 exist still then. I remember Nevil saying if either of them die the super silver or mango will never be the same again so I guess that answers my question.

alright sorry to thread jack ...

Scarhole: Regardless of if it's A or C ... You're in for a special treat. Im tuned in. Keep up the good work.

ihave three of what Scarhole is growing
i do know what hazexnl5 was like in the old days
[i need some shaman weed] ihope i can find it in one of these...
the three are doing excellent but behind mr scarhole
because i just started them

I seem to remember a post where Shanti was saying it took a real long time to find the daddy. That post gave me the impression the same dad was used for both SSH and MH. I coulda swore he straight up said they had the same dad?

From all the discussion on it, I thought MH is
NL5HzA x SkHzC
(Pretty sure Nev said they called that NL5HzA cut "mango")
and SSH is
NL5HzC x SkHzC

Attention Shanti ...

Please clarify this up for us.

Right now I am assuming the following, please correct any mis-information:

5Haze1 = Haze C x NL5
5Haze122 = Haze C x NL5 (was this a mango pheno?)

SSilver = 5Haze1 x Skunk/Haze C
Mango = 5Haze122 x Skunk/Haze A
