2nd time MNS, 1st time Mango Hz

Warning:
This is a males only post! (because males in the cannabis world get not enough attention ;))
I harvested my Mango males on August 30 (flowering day 32 already).
Pollen is in the fridge for now.

The Mango Haze_F is kinda fruity and sweet (stem rub).
He is a very good pollenproducer, vigorous and little bit faster flowering compared to G.

G has very funky kind of citrus aroma.
Compared to F he seems to be slower in flowering and is a little bit smaller.
He was one of my favorites early on (smell and growing-wise).

I was too lazy to do pictures of the ladies this time...
Looking good so far, that i can tell you!
Some of the lower budspots will possibly be pollinated in the next 3-5 days.
Then i will take some pictures of the hot ladies of course.

Cu soon!

Yesterday i started to pollinate some ladies!
Only 4 so far, the rest (7) hopefully tomorrow.

Winter is coming => some frost production is starting!

Have a nice weekend!

...you keep saying "Cu soon." and I have yet to see any pictures of copper. I feel misled.
👀 you soon! 😊

Time for another update!

Btw: I made one little mistake in the post earlier (pictures of September 6).
Mango Haze_I is actally Mango Haze_J.

Some plants got little too much water.
Its difficult to guess without pulling the pots out of the tent.
I'm too lazy to move 16 pots around everytime i water.
=> So sometimes some plants get a little bit too much.
I have the feeling some may have too mouch poultry dung in the old soil mix as well.
Anyway, i think all will make it in the end.

The Suomi Haze (Mango Haze IBL) shares some similarities with Mango Haze_A.
At least optically...
The Suomi Haze has a different aroma (deeper little bit less citrus) then Mango Haze A (which is very much citrus in your face)
but they might fit well together.

It's getting really interesting now!
As you can see some Mangos are finishing earlier then others.
The Aroma is different and unique on all of them.
Will be hard to select the ultimate keeper this round.

Can't wait to see the buds swelling in the coming weeks.

Have a nice sunday and Cu soon!

Today just a short update.

Some leaves are dying way too fast.
I guess the 2nd poultry dung (two spoons) is too strong.
Used two different ones.
In the beginning NPK 4-4-4 and in the final pot for blooming NPK 6-8-15.
Some plants show burned leaves while others seem to be fine with the mix.
I guess hazes are not that needy in general.

Next time i will stay with the NPK 4-4-4 for the 3,5 liter pots.

Btw, seeds are developing fine.
Have to do a picture next time.
Already 23 days since the pollination (today October 1, 2024).

If i feel motivated I will do some budshots again (maybe next week).

Good night

Yup, that looks familiar, too hot.
Prefertilized Terra Pretax style mix and similar genetics have been on the edge but fine until I tried to juice up with a little extra - fried them pretty much exactly like yours are looking right now.
Been preamending the mix with 7-7-7.
Now only water again.
Other than that pretty close to hit a good water only schedule.
Yours still look mighty fine, just flush with water only till harvest and it should hit the spot imho.

Way to easy 😅🥵

But after 2/3rds of the run seems I finally got a feel for it.
That look is generally high P levels blocking out micros. What I found to work pretty consistently, is only feeding 1/4 the intended amount, every week, or half every two weeks. Real Hazes and heirloom/landrace sativas especially. I get into trouble when I depart from this and get too enthusiastic about feeding too much at once. Especially when I'm having to improvise due to my usual amendments not being handy for whatever reason. Its like cooking with salt: you can always add more.

When in doubt with a new soil mix or for those of us, who like to recycle our soil; those liquid chromatography soil test kits (for N-P-K and pH) are worth their weight in gold. it is always easier to dilute. Give it a few days to a week to stabilize and then test again. Than it is to battle an imbalance once things are rocking and rolling.

Now only water again.
Thats what i basically do from start till end.
In the very beginning i just add one little spoon with the 4-4-4 to the 1 L pots.
Thats because they have to stay there 6-8 weeks.
The last time i add fertilizer is when the repotting happens.
Besides that its water only.
I'm way too lazy for mixing ferilizers

It usually works fine but this time i tried the stronger poultry dung and almost failed ;)

That stuff has the added factor of dare I say.... a shitload... of ammonia. I've tried using it on and off. Because it WAS cheap and kind of a one stop shop. Now the price has more than doubled, around here. The dried pellets worked better than the bags of wet, composted chicken poo. I found the bags to work best. When I put them in the sun for a good month or so to cook out some of the excess ammonia. Point being: that stuff really shocks the pH.

What I am liking a lot lately is soy. If you do a lacto-fermentation or vermicompost it ahead of time. It isn't slow release anymore. Also, I think that via making it, with whatever else, into biochar. You could have a p-k fertilizer, that is mineral rich, sans the nitrogen. When possible, I like to use bone ash too. The smell of making it. Requires the rainy season to contain though.... One of the main byproducts is a cyclical amine, that smells like rotting fish and ammonia.

One thing to consider, with the N value. Is where that nitrogen is coming from. In something vegetal it is going to be proteins/amino acids. Those then generally have to be converted to another form, by microbes to make it directly useful/ With the manures, you are dealing more with ammonia and ammonium salts as well as urea. Those are more quickly available, but at a cost. The main thing I wanted to point out though; is that when you break those proteins down ahead of time via fermentation and what have you. The free amino acids can have a demonstrable biostimulant effect on the plant's growth, above and beyond the actual N value. In the case of soy, it seems to have a positive effect on root growth. Moral of the story: soybeans seem to have promise as a renewable fertilizer source for Cannabis.

@Worn Down Soul I do the same feed light .

I use a light mix soil and I always feed a light organic mix to keep the soil balance , Feeding is important the right amounts and nutrients.
I believe the main issues is that you have to little root space and the plants are suffocating and what ever u feed will be to much .

What can work fast is put them as they are with their pot inside an bigger pot with fresh soil, the will root out the issues in one week .( Also air flow with Haze is a must to have a crazy airflow in ur tent at least double from what you have now.

I hope this helps.

Thx for the tipps!

least double from what you have now.
i have usually three fans in the 80x80 running (you dont see those).
temperatures are fine now, summer is over ;)
Actually i don't worry about the plants and i'm way too lazy to do a repotting now.
They will survive i guess!

Btw, in the pot of the Suomi Haze Cutting a random seed popped.
I have no idea what this is

Sometimes those volunteers can make for extra vigorous plants. I usually like to try and fish them out and see if there is anything worthwhile there.

Your Hazes are something to be envious over. Also curious how that Laotian sativa turns out. Is this your first run with that one?
