hey smokin moose ,, thanks for those great pics and info ,,
i was aware of the afghani camel drivers bringing seeds with them , have an aboriginal mate that would be at home in a turban and loved hash ,, a definate descendant of those times ,,,
wonder if theres any chance of chasing down any of those early affies ...

Hey Moosy, great pics......"And a little bit of early cannabis history in Australia - my Gran told me that the Afghan camel men who had been brought out with their camels in the early years, also brought cannabis seeds with them.

There is a place in Geraldton WA that is called Muhammed Flats and this was a meeting place for the camel trains.
There used to be some awesome gear around Geraldton, not only from travelers bringing MJ back, but also MJ that was already there.
Its possible that some of this gear was early Afghani.

really, like the supplies are cut off to the supermarkets? Wow, must be some crazy weather, take care man...

Those are some of the best aboriginal pics I have ever seen Smokin Moose,
So cool.

man, I have always wanted to go check out Australia. I am in Africa like half the year, so its not too far...

Thanks josh , your always most welcome to join us down here ...

A beautiful day today , sun shining , hot and muggy ,, the bugs and birds are soo happy ,, as is the cannabis ..
Ive almost finished doing a little job i wanted to finish before getting more pics , the place is looking great , look for some picture updates over the weekend or early next week ...

Hi mr wallace ,,, i see your a ned kelly fan , he was a bit of a childhood hero for me also ,, of irish descent i can certainly empatathise with his position .

Most of the plants are beginning to show sex now ,, females were showing first , with males quick to also show ,, several males pulled out on the last trip ..
the alternate growth on most has slowed and started to be opposing ..
im noticing the males are very fast to flower from first signs of sex , much more so than im used to with the usual hybrids i grow .
im keeping a bit of a count on the males pulled out in order to give a rough idea of male to female %rates .

Im going to put some more seed in , a papua new guinea sativa cross a good friend sent to me , word has it the weather guys are predicting an end to the la nina at the end of march ,,
that will be perfect for me and set me up for an excellent winter grow after harvesting the sativas in the hot april/may sun . ..

Right on Donald, thank you for the hospitality. I hope I will be able take you up on that sometime. I have to get back to Africa first though, which wont be until august or semptember. My wife and I have been wanting to go to Australia for years.

Can't wait to see the updates.

Just checking in mate. Hope the sun is out for you and the plants are well.

hi mr moose ,,
yes everything is dandy here ,, most of the problem is well south of me ,, thankfully , though best wishes to them .. i had a bit of an idea it may happen as it is with the weather;
anyhows heres the feild as it is now , well a feild ,, note the brand new fence ,, and felled trees etc around the area ,, been b usy times .. still not finished ..

i still have to pull out the old fence ,, its proving harder than i though , lots of silt build up along it ...

First shots there were at around 7 am ,, u can see the sun just starting to get high enough to enter the patch ...
this shot is a little later in the day ,, the sun reaches that patch around 7 30 am, much better than before ..

From what i can see , a lot of the folk here are more interested in arguements , time everyone got back to the grow threads i think ,,

some should join a debating site and others can check out pretty cannabis pics , hehe ..

heres a nice lady starting to show some form and lovely purple veins ..

donald-mallard-albums-2-picture3760-dsc-0012.jpg

hard to get a perspective from the camera sometimes , seems too small or too big ,, not enough dimention ..
most of the plants are around 4 ft tall in that area ..

donald-mallard-albums-2-picture3763-dsc-0019.jpg

I always love how sativas look as they begin to flower , the bunching of the leaf tops , lots of fingers waiting to become hands ...

donald-mallard-albums-2-picture3762-dsc-0017.jpg

A bit more of the purpling stem ,,
theres a few doing the same , im smelling really chloropyll smells , bitey and pungent , but leafy smelling like i recall a lot of sativas to smell like ,, been a while since ive grown ladies like this ....
im hoping they stay shorter and dont get above 8 ft max , ill encourage that if i have too ..
