sounds like a good idea Wally, I'm thinking that because there's been so much rain so early in the season....perhaps the chance for a dry Autumn is increased.

Sometimes nature makes sense like that....sometimes.

yes bushweed im hoping thus is the case , for all of us ..
nothing beats them long season sats maturing in the full sunshine , often too a lovely golden colour ,, mmm im teasing myself now .. lol ...

hey mr bee good to see you again , and welcome aboard the thread ..
i have some zoid x c99 pics im loading to show soon ,, will be up soon as i can get my shit together here ,, sometimes that takes longer than others ... hehe ..

its a shame i dont have any editing software at the moment ,, the full size pic shows a bug staring back at the lense ,, reckin hes dead from overdosing by the looks of him ,, but he died smiling ,,

hey doobz ,, thanks man ,,
yes moonunit has been testing them indoors while ive been doing the outdoor tests , theres a .bunch of variation in this lot with them being f2 s , plan was to narrow them down to the more pleasing types , im pretty sure myself and moon are agreeable on the direction to head , which is to maintain the sativa high and png flavours as much as we can while also making them manageable for indoor growers ..
We planned to take it 2 directions , a more sativa dominant variety and a c99 leaning type .
Mr moon can fill you in with anything ive left out .

id like to see a outdoor only strain
just my 2 cents Mr Mallard

heres to summer mate
get those long flowering sats in, i can see a dry finish around the corner
it cant rain forever

You can be sure there will be something of that nature squiggles , i notice more how many folks are becoming sativa lovers , the challange they present to some also seems to be a driving force to want to grow them , i too am a long season sativa lover , no reason to explain why ,, we all know well ...

Hi don m8, you pretty well covered it.

Hi Doobz, the z99 does well indoors indeed, although it throws a few plants that can get weird if they get to close to indoor lighting, and a few that never want to finish unless the light is lifted way high away from them. There have been some dam fine and massive yielders amongst this gen, and as don mentioned the line will be split into two lines from the f2 creating two f3s heading in different directions.

Hi Squiggles m8, no worries on some dedicated outdoor long flower sats, they are definately on the cards, as they are my preference too :)
much respect

Personally i think the lighting these days is leaning toward being better for the more indica dominant hybrids and less for the sativa leaning attributes ..

I grew quite a few pure sativas indoors in the early days with very pleasing results, more so than i see on the pics these days , i used metal halide lighting , and have done since with sativa dominant genetics , with better results than under hps , the difference was very measurable ..

Id love to be able to replicate the tropics indoors , but the major set back i see is the fact indoors is styfling , lack of circulation to be able to get the heat and humidity that tropical growing does ,

in the tropics , cannabis can be harvested when temperatures are extremely high , uv s are off the dial , a far cry from temperate climates where the finish is hampered by cold temperatures and a declining season , ...

however onward we go and try to learn what we can from the problems that present themselves along the way , its a bumpy road sometimes ,...

Hi don m8, on the lighting you are absolutely right. Its geared for the 8 week indoor indica dom hybrid shows and not so much the sativa lover. Having grown lot of sats indoors i must say i also agree on the metal halides, they are just better for indoor sats imho, but as most indoors growers use hps, we must stress test with em also. Good growers can do well with hps also, but it could be so much better
My dream is computer controled lighting, that can be programmed to replicate specific light conditions from outdoor hotspots around the world. Imagine a little sensor box that could be placed at a location, taking light readings and messurements of all sorts over a period of time, a small flash memeory card could be popped out of it and into the lighting control computer and bam, replication of the lighting in the area the sensor box was located. If one wanted to grow collumbians, one could download or obtain a data set for the columbian enviroment the genetics come from, and then replicate it as best as possible indoors.
Hell seed suppliers could send lighting setting data flash drives with seed purchases, with lighting settings for the seedlines one is buying on the flash drive.
Until then imho we can only do our best to catch up to mother nature :)
much respect

You guys have some real nice work going on. I would really love to see some of the plants that have been done indoors if you possibly had some?

Really looking forward to the updates..

Stay Cool,
Doobz

Not a great pic( i suck at photography lol) but this is a z99 f2 indoor stress tester, i will have to get some better pics of a non stress test indoor tree grow of the z99 that is coming up.
