When i trim i try to go as close into the stem as i can. I go over them once with fingers getting all the big fan leaves, then after a few days drying i go over them by hand again, getting all the small fan leaves and nearly forming fan leaves underneath the buds, and then go over them with scissors. Would probably be worth my while getting a good trimmer though, i only tend to nicely trim the really good buds, anything not quite top notch and it get's a rough going over, i don't smoke hashh much either so i don't like trimming too much legit bud off.

Thats not what I asked mate! I asked if you had ever used a Bud trimmer to compare with as you say you think trimmers give poorly manicured buds which is not the case.

Its made out of very simple things that you can find round the house yet works exactly the same as the trim-pro. That was the first time I had ever turned on the machine to trim buds and was just a very rough guide of what the system could do.
 
Nope, i totally missed your question at the start of your post :D I've not used, i've just seen video's to date.

Looks like an effective tool to use on the not so worthy buds, and i'm sure you've refined it by now, but just doesn't look like it takes as much plant matter off as i'd like, i'm fussy for some reason.

What are you talking about? It takes off as much "matter" as you want it to.

It was not a case of refinement and still is not the case. I wont change anything since I used it the first time. It was a case of "Is this thing going to completely chop my buds to bits" on the first run hence the very rough and agricultural cut.
 
I'm talking about trimming to the stem, that machine is useful for airy buds i can't be bothered with in the first place, but i trimn out all stalks and stems i can, that simply shears them at the buds outer perimiter. I'm simply saying it's not for me when it comes to trimming the prime buds.

By refinement i simply mean how close to hold the bud etc, the technique, for example running the bud up the grill in one direction will flatten leaves to the bud and running it in the other direction would pop the leaves out in the open to be trimed off.

Sounds good mate. Do you prefer the single plant grows or multiple? I have never heard of any of those strains your doing apart from your kush..
 
Not much longer now on the Cheese Plants. They are meant to come down tomorrow night but I have other things to do. I might leave them till next week depending on how the rest of the week goes. If I leave them till next week it will be 9 weeks so probably better..



 
Its gonna be 1 week exactly tomorrow and have a few things to report.

I have changed over to Vitalink Max now as Chempak doesn't seem to be as good in Hydro as in Coco. I think with it being salt based the plants in hydro have nowhere to get rid of excess salt.

I have noticed growth improvement 24 hours after changing. I dunno why but the smell seems to have become a lot worse too..

When I did the change I did 10L

10ml Grow A
10ml Grow B

EC comes to 0.7
PH 5.8

Well it makes perfect sense to me, and i know exactly what i'm talking about. When i trim, i take the scissors and cut out small stems and leaves to as far into the bud as i'm able. I hate having dried fan leaf stems and such in my buds. I find smoke to be rough enough as it is so don't see a reason to make it harsher.

And i don't need to have used it, i can see quite clearly the mechanics and how it works, it physically cannot trim a bud to my preference. Running a pair of scissors along the sirface would give exactly the same result as the machine, just manually.

It's good stuff that NMK, I liked the sample I tried, it's rare to find something that is top quality that finishes as fast as that one does.

I know what you mean JKP. Sometimes Seed runs can be a bit of a pain and there is the added stress of possible hermies etc..
 
I'm doing an all-clone run next cos this seed run has been a nightmare, load of runts, freaks and hermies so the yield is not going to be great.

After that it's Purple Afghan x OG Kush and Blueberry x NLX, both from seed.

But after that, clones for a while, seeds are fun but makes it harder by far to pull off a nice harvest.

Sorry to hear about the hermies etc.

Last night I don't know what the hell happened.. I got completely FUCKED OFF MY TITS. The plant that had been growing outside got chopped and I decided to make some Infused Cream / Milk.

I guess I got the ratio of bud to milk wrong but one things is for certain! I have never been so buckled off eating weed before. It snuck up on me. I was fine sitting down but as soon as I stood up.. GAME OVER!

6 Hours later I managed to get to sleep..

Maybe 1 tablespoon of the mixture is enough in a cup of coffee rather then half a cup...
