How to achieve the best yield with MH

I will be starting my first Mr.Nice grow with some MH and was looking to get some advice on methods that experienced MH growers can provide to hopefully achieve as big a yield as possible.

My previous and first grow (GHS Alaskan !ce / 400w HPS) I managed 4oz cured per plant which I was very happy with.

I now have a 600w HPS and more experience so I hope I can achieve more with the MH.

I have a 1x1x2m tent, will be using BioBizz nutrients and using Canna Professional Plus Coco which a friend gave to me, I previously used BioBizz Light mix soil so will this Canna coco be as good/better?

A friend taught me a method he calls "Super-cropping" where you squeeze the stem a little which start new nodes, then the plant carries on growing, will this be worthwhile doing with the MH?

I also topped my AI as it was getting too big but it resulted in a bigger yield so do you guys do this with your MH?

Any other info of how to treat your MH and maximize her yield please share and hopefully we can add to this thread some helpful info for anyone looking to get the best from their MH :)

hmm

Yah c'mon guys what are the good tips I want to try MH as well

Mango Haze is a high yielding plant but it's effect is the reason you should choose to grow it. I suggest you run it a couple of times before you start to employ yielding "tricks" that you may not need.

Peace.

What you are doing is fine you could also try alongside your topping/supercropping lst/hst tying down the branches and getting your light as close as is possible without scorching the plant.
4oz froom your 1st grow is very impressive well so long as the plant wasnt 10ft tall that is.
Fist....tting

Don't feed it!!! Mine hates being fed like the other plants and reminds me by dying!!!

High Lucky, 4oz a plant is impressive under a 400 i usualy pull 3oz a plant or 10 to 12oz under the 400w in a 1x1x2m tent ,my aim is 1g a watt but am very happy with 300g under a 400w

If your going to use a 600 i'd advise good intake circulation and extraction as a 600 is hotter and would work better in 1.5x1.5x2m tent.

Scrog & LST are but a few methods to enhance yeild and reduce overall size of a grow.

heres a few links , intresting read on supercropping.

Show me how to do early vegetative pruning and FIM

What is the FIM pruning technique

How do I prune and start supercropping

Good luck , i have no expereince with MH so i cant really help you there.

yes. the only 'trick' is to successfully manage the stretch in a small space.

Thanks for the advice Cannatari, I have decided to keep them natural as I want to understand their individual characteristics so I can select the best mothers.

The A.I stretched a lot, I had to top it mid way through flowering to control it. I was advised to top MH at the 6th node to get the best from it but when is the best time to do it.. veg, flowering or anytime?

There are 4 ladies per sq mtr with a 600w so I hope they will thrive.

I have read that they are not too keen on nutes.. Mine are looking a bit worse for wear, read on..

They are 3 1/2 into veg and look rather small (comparing them to how big my A.I were at the same stage), they are very detailed/developed to look at, just small..

Then there is the issue of all of them being yellow??! A friend said it was because they are in coco and the biobizz nutes won't work in that so I'm going to put them in larger pots for flowering and go back to using biobizz light mix soil. I got some coco hesi nutes of which they have had 2 feedings and have started to improve, slowly turning green..

Some of the leaves have also started to curl upwards/downwards, is this something to do with them being yellow?

Please help!

here is advice straight from the breeder's mouth...Shanti states in the MangoHaze strain description this:

It is suggested that if the room does not have much height, go directly into 12/12 with a rooted clone or seed. This will still give a 1-1.5 meter plant. Yields of this strain are expected to produce between 450-550 grams per square meter (based on using minimum of 600 watts lamps). Lower branches may be pruned during the grow or pre flower phase, so the Mango strain puts its energy into the cola flower clusters. This is a good way to manage this plant if growing more plants per square meter than normal is preferred.

Maybe mango haze isnt your best choice if youve only have 2 grows under your belt hazes are a trickyer plant to grow ( to grow right). A single haze plant can overwelm a grow room. im just saying its not like growing a typical Indica.

i tend to agree with rimmeo that any 50%Haze hybrid will be quite a learning experience with one only having two grows...however if you do your homework and read through the successful grow logs and other info on the forum you could succeed even this early and it will definitely take your grow skills to a new level...something 25%Haze may be a bit more practical, Angel Heart, Critical Haze, ASH and a few others have 25%Hz...i feel SSH is a bit easier to grow than MH but both will be challenging...if you do your homework tho it shouldn't be a problem and hell you gotta try it sometime so with effort its worth a shot

Hiya, Lucky.

It's normal for a few MH phenos to "claw" if that's what you mean by leaf curl. Feeding them light is a good rule of thumb but you need to supply some more info for anybody to give you an accurate diagnosis. If their condition is on the up then you should give the changes you made a little time to show you some results before you do anything else.

Peace.
