Hi ya mate and Thanx.....So all settled into down under, down under:D

Yep best thing you can do is the compost, I am making it all the time.

I guess you are going to need some very early flowering strains ???
Ive been hanging out with a good friend up the end of Snake gully, but he didnt have horses then. Did you meet a kiwi ??

Ok mate, stay well....K

My girl is seriously gonna leave me if I spend anymore time lookin at this thread, hahaha!

It's official I have to move to Australia, outdoor sativas! Living in central Ontario Canada I'm somewhat limited. As a natural & organic grower I love growing outdoors, I wouldn't even grow indoors if I didn't have to.

AMAZING! plants Kangativa.

Cheers

Hi Kanga
I know the Kiwi with 100,000 plants.. ended up in Grafton for a while.....Who was the guy just before his place ? with the big book of pressed plants???

That ASH plant you have looks so nice.

The Big Nev's look like a lot of the weed that was around in the late 70's.
That second pic, long branches with buds right along very even like little candles.

Superb.BP

STAY YOUNG AND GROW EM BIG !!!!:D

Certainly living up to your signature Kangativa I'm always amazed by the monsters you grow over there,
Harvest time must be a quite a challanging event :D

Wow, that looks more and more like the Promised Land in your corner...:)

Just love that 20 foot Laotian.

Keep up the good work.

Peace.

K.

Fucking incredible

how big of a hole do i need to dig for a plant that size?

Are these from seed or clone (the 20 footers)?

Did you start indoors? If so, how long of a veg before putting out?

Are these all done without staking? Going guerrilla and dont want to have a bumch of bamboo stakes in the wilderness, so just curious.

That is all

What up Kangativa,

What wonderful contributions you make to the plantet. I hope I breathe the air those plants produce lol.

Nice jungle M8! Wouldn't surprise me to see Rambo or Dr Suess pop out from behind a tree:D They look unreal, i'm absolutely jealous & motivated.

have ah good one, take care

Thais are notorious for hermies but I think that's more due to bad farming practices in the late 70s and 80s. For centuries, Thailand had a thriving cultivation scene and each village or group of villages had a farmer who grew just for seed to provide the seed each year for the other farmers, this was how they maintained their lines, same thing was done in other ganja cultivating countries. This meant the crops were sensimilla apart from the odd infrequent seed here and there, Sam Skunkman mentioned having to go through kilos of sticks to find a few seeds. When the US began the war on drugs and paid the Thai govt to murder or imprison most of the farmers it destroyed the centuries old system for maintaing seed lines and this reduced the few farmers brave enough to continue growing (mostly because criminal gangs forced them) had to resort to growing seeds they picked out of weed as they no longer had a supply of good seed.Wouldn't take many years before the remaining Thai crops were mostly hermaphroditic because they were growing seeds picked out of weed rather than ones bred properly as they had in the past.

This is why the old Thai lines that were collected in the late 60s and early 70s so valuable. The Vietnam War was the reason why a load of Thai strains ended up in Australia. The Aussie govt was scared of the spread of communism into SE Asia so sent troops to join the Americans in Vietnam. The first Diggers that came back from Vietnam on RnR or wounded returned to Oz in 1967 and they brought Thai sticks and seeds back with them. This was at the same time as the govt was starting to take note of the Hunter Valley cannabis and the rising use of the plant by young people so the influx of Thai genes came at precisely the right time. Maybe some surfers and traveller types had been to SE Asia prior to 67 and brought back seeds to Oz, but I reckon it was the returning Diggers that were responsible for most of the genes that made it from SE Asia to Oz.

This is why the handful of old pre War on Drugs heirloom SE Asian genes we still have are so important in the grand scheme of things, they are the last surviving remnants of the great genepool of SE Asia that is mostly gone now. Haze and Mullumbimby Madness spring to mind as fragments of those genes, plus all the unnamed Thais Aussies seem to still be growing and the slightly mysterious Old Mother Sativa, there are still some bits and bobs left.

mate i didn't even read your hole post but skunk man is dead wrong on this and if you reamber over at icmag i had this same discussion with sam and he basically sed i was full of shit well i grew out a Thia as i did at cw and guess what the female Thia plant each grow stayed as a female and never showed one male flower.

The guy from i think its the real seed co who traveled threw Thailand spoke to the farmers/growers they also told him the same thing i have been saying on line about Thia for years they do not Hermie repeat for all reading this they do not Hermie once they have been sexed and are female.

Sativas if there going to show hermies they will at sexing Thias like a few other pure sativa lines only ever showed hermaphrodites at sexing thats it once you culled them and the females and males were sexed they stayed as female or males.

How many seeds did you guys ever see in Thia sticks in the 70s and 80s ? not many if any at all.
hi mr hempy ,
i think u must have gotten lucky with your plant ,
how many did you grow and what was your source of seed?

ive grown heaps of sativas over the years ,, plenty from those thai sticks also , lots of hermies in all stages of flowering , from the beginning to the very end they would show .
not all plants did this ,,
but the ones that did there was no real cut off point like you say ,
some would show male flowers half way into flowering ,, toward the end , at the beginning etc etc ..
we still grow sativas outdoors ,
we still see the same thing ..
it would be a real blessing if it was like you say ,
we could cull the offending plants and the rest of the crop would be clean ..
but your the only one i know of that says it .

the very few seeds from those thai sticks , how do you think they got there?

Interestingly the Old Mother Sativa is said by its original keeper to have come from 50s Thai stick:) Who knows? I have read that people were smoking cannabis in Sydney and Melbourne as far back as the 30s, so its possible. Anyway I recently acquired what is said to be the last pure OMS from this gentleman, and dutifully handed them over to Nev and Kanga:p So along with everyone else's contribution, these two now have more Thais than you can poke a Thai stick at.

Wow, I'm quite blown away by this news. I remember in the Grail thread seeing the photo you posted of the seed bag with Old Mother Sativa written on it. I thought, what's that about at the time and now it's makes more sense. I'm a bit obsessed with OMS and MM haha. If that line is from the 50s maybe a more apt name for it could be Old Granmother Sativa. I've experienced the syncronicity in life where you feel the divine hand so to speak.. Now I don't know all the story but that's what it seems like to me. You getting the seeds and passing them onto Kanga and Nevil, fek. Couldn't be in much safer hands hey. Only can wonder what can possibly be cooked up with this added into the mix if they germ and all goes well.

Bushy, did you know this fella who has been the keeper? He must be kicking on in years. I'd need to go and have a look at the photo again but was the amount of seed left only small in number? Anything else you can share about it that he wouldn't mind?
