Karibe Surprise? Damn, that is the one that I really regretted not getting from African Seeds. It's supposed to be a very exotic strain and maybe similar in some ways to the legendary 'Black Magic African'. I remember someone writing about it and saying some very positive things about it. if my QWISO-fogged memory improves and I remember where I read it I'll dig it out.

Kali Mist being Aussie? Well, if it's what Nev suspects and a cross of NL5Haze to an Asian sativa then it makes sense it would be similar to some Aussie strains. Simon might have used a Cambodian to make Kali Mist and a lot of Aussie genes are from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos so there's where the similarity lies probably.

The 303 does look lovely. Anyone got any idea what happened to fet? He disappeared before hg420 went down and I don't think he's been heard from since. 303 is an old Aussie line right? It has Papua New Guinea blood in it doesn't it?

I was also told that this one is the strongest of the African strains, it similar to the ZC, but I think a lot of Africans are quite similar as its hard to see much difference between the Swazi Red and malawi gold as well,

Yes BH the Fet does have PNG in its make up. Here is a pic of the Kar S.

Thanx Pepel, I am also looking towards seeing all these strains in flower.
Stay well....K

I agree actually, I found a lot of similarities between the Swazi and Malawi when I grew em indoors. The Swazi was a dark, more earthy taste, the Malawi tasted quite like carrots to me.

Yeah mate I am sure there is going to be a big difference when flowering starts happening. Different smells tastes and highs, lucky I will have a good tester, seeing I am not a big smoker..lol
I have a nice Swazi R that is about 2 mtr. I was a bit unlucky with the Africans as they were a bit slow in revegging and I dont think will reach their full height, but I am in the proccess of taking clones now so I wont have that problem next season.
I still have Nigerian and a few different DP's to do yet and of course all those WOS Africans , if they are ligit.
Ive also get some nice Swazi skunks going as well and a couple of them are around the 3 mtr......do you know much about these ???

Also the Ghana's didnt reveg well, but I have one nice small plant and I got clones off another before it drowned, I was thinking of crossing the male Ghana's to the X18, should make some nice tight nuggets.

Yeah mate as far as I know this is Fet's original, with out any C99 and if you look at the first lot of pics I put up you can see there is no C99 in it.
In Fact they look more Thai type buds.
I have only found 1 pic of a Fet, I wish i could find more, if you or anybody else has some it would be great to see as this is a new strain for me.

Swazi Skunk was nice, I preferred the Swazi dom ones as the Skunk ones were sweeter. The Swazi ones indoors were quite airy but grew very big colas, the Skunk ones were much denser but smaller size colas. I have some seeds I made using a female Swazi Skunk and a Blueberry male, never got round to growing them.

Ghana x X18 should be interesting, I did Ghana x Purple Afghan, another I haven't tried myself yet.

Lol....Doubling up on posts now are we mate:D

Yeah I dont know what to use with the Swazi's as yet, I want to use a male or 2 over them, might be interesting to use the Oaxacan, but I think the flowering time might be a bit late as i am trying to get some things to flower a bit earlier.

I liked the smoke from the Ghana, it was a very happy trippy, dreamy high that lasted for about 4 -5 hrs and that was only a quick winter - spring bud, I am sure grown all summer it is going to be very nice:D

It's my damn internet connection, keeps timing out so sometimes I hit refresh and it posts again! I'll delete one to keep the thread clean.

Probably best to cross the Swazi to something that will increase it's density as I found that to be it's weak point although it might be a different kettle of fish outdoors. The Swazi is a little bit quicker than the Malawi I found.

That Ghana sounds nice, I like dreamy highs, if I had the space and resources I'd grown almost nothing but sats and just a few indicas for my insomnia and anxety issues. For me, Sats every time for recreation but they don't always have the required medicinal effects so the indica have their place.

Keep up the great work mate, so many interesting and rare strains you have going!

I found some pics of the most Swazi leaning Swazi Skunk from a few years ago, I grew her 12/12 from seed and she took 90 days, really nice smoke, all-round good plant, only issue was she was a bit airy but that's how sats generally are indoors. She had a rich earthy taste that had strong aniseed/licourice notes, similar to Durban Poison in smell and taste.

Apologies for the boxer shorts in the first pic, it's a clean pair though, I assure you!

I never get tired of looking at those trees. The Mango looks juicy, how long does she have left?

That Zambian has a similar branching structure to a pheno of Malawi I had, I called it the octopus pheno cos of all the long arms.

That Swazi Skunk I grew was in a 6 inch pot of coco and grown under 12/12 from sprouting so I very much doubt yours will look like that but it gives you some idea of what the buds are like and that it isn't a particularly tall or stretchy plant, that was the tallest one, the Skunk dom pheno was 6 inches shorter and chunkier but not as nice a smoke.

hey bh ,
and mr kanga of course ..
on the swazi , wth the added skunk name , i asked about that and from the african contact i had at the time , the skunk name was added onl[y to attract buyers and attention , it didnt have skunk in it , so i was told anyhows ....

i grew a whole lot of swazi , quite a few hundred in total , most were slighter bud , but some very resiny samples ..
we did get one plant of all that had the same traits , smell and taste ,
which was a little carroty as bh says of the other african he tried ,
but it was very chunky and tight , matured same etc ,
we though t of it as a 1 in 200 , which is what it took to find it minus the males ..
the high was excellent , very smooth and clear , a little on the speedy side
which i like .
, really nice herb .

It will be interesting to see what these Swazi's show then.

Nev with the Laos and Thai's. these girls are just starting to stretch their legs.

Lol....hey mate I just did that cross last year, so this is the first look at her.

Yeah they are a pain in the arse.....just try all sprays from Garlic/ Chilli, neem, whatever you find works some are different than others and not all spays work.
As soon as you know they are around get rid of them and they will slow down a bit.

I heard the same story about Swazi Skunk, African Seeds sold both Swazi Red and Swazi Skunk and there was no Skunk in the latter, just an added tag for marketing.

I have more seeds of the African Seeds Swazi Red I must grow soon and three other Swazis a friend in SA sent me last year. I think there are broad similarities across the Durban Poison, Swazi and Malawi genepools and you need to apply some selection pressure to find the good ones. There tend to be plenty of hermies too.

I have some Chiskei, Senegalese, Malawi Gold, Zamal, Ethiopian Highland, Angolan and Egyptian seeds to work my way through. I'm always on the look out for more African strains because I think they are the last great resource of unpolluted sativas out there.

heres some of the remote wilderness im looking at here in nor-cal.This was from last year but I wasnt able to do much then, but this year is my year!:)
