Hi m8, love the garden, im sure you will pull it through. Your the personification of the best and most hearty aussie bush lines, nothing nature can throw at you will hold you back, and you/them always manage to produce even under the harshest of conditions. Keep you and yours safe m8, the scene needs you and you cant be replaced or regrown
much respect

hey mr moon ,
very true on the resiliance of the aussie sativa
the are tough if nothing else ..
thankfully they have other good traits ,

i was just starting to see some nice flowering action ,
looks so far to be a line worth growing again ,
which i may well have to do , hehe
cheers mate ...

Hi don m8, i liken the aussie sats to diamonds, hard, resiliant, and precious with many fantastic qualities and uses. We have been piping up about the aussie genepool for along time now, good to see we have alot more folks in agreement with us now.
I reckon you will get some lovely ladies from the lines your running now, might have to get some of the wafghan pollen to you to dust a few of your faves :)
much respect and stay safe m8

Cheers mr bucketbong ..

So a report from the jungle ,,,

WOW
is the first thing that sprung to mind even before i got anywhere near the patch ,,
the place has been devistated ,
uprooted trees torn off branches , and piles of leaves .
it was a very difficult walk to get in there ..

i think the wind hit harder in larry at the patch , but it was only an hour in duration ..
this one howled for around 10 hrs and really punished the rainforest ..
the light is reaching the floor of the forest everywhere , where it used to be quite dark ....

As for the patch , well losses are at least 80% if not more , it was a disaster zone ,
thankfully the seedlings i had in faired well and will help refill the area ..
i had already cleared the trees from anywhere near the patch so nothing spoiled the newly build fence .. phew ...
so its pretty stuffed , but we can rebuild it and already have made a major start ..

Hi Wally

Good to here it wasn't a total loss mate.

And on a possitive side you will have heaps of mulch & compost material.

And its planting time for the Dry season grow.

All the best with it all mate. BP

yep my thoughts to bushpig ,
if your chasing gold , you wont find it if you stop looking ,,
same as the erb patch ,, try try try again ,,
third time this season ive had to replant ,
so i guess im getting better at it , hehe ..

there will be many positives come from it bushpig in the long term ...

Not sounding to good there Wal, no chance of them growing back up ??
As BP say's you still have winter, so not all is lost.
Ive got caterpillar problems now.....all I can say is what a year and just laugh about it:D

'Plants, fucked, new fence is sound though' hehe

Typical bloody sod's law luck eh mate?

Glad to hear you're getting right back in the saddle again though!

How often do you get storms that bad?

hey bh , yep been a bit that way all year ,
but last year was excellent so really i cant complain ..
the soil is happy for all the cultivation its had this year .. hehe

this is the second storm like this in 5 years , usually they are 10 to 20 years apart .

Hey friend

DM,

What is most important is your ok. I hate that you have to replant, but in the end. It is our friends that matter.

Kanga,

If I read right you were having trouble with catepillars. Do you have a product where you live called "Tanglefoot"? If your not familiard with it. Google tanglefoot pest barrier. Hope that helps...

DM good to see you around friend...Be well, and Kanga I hope you knock the pest problem down...Ns

Hi don m8, sorry to hear of the losses, but im just happy you and yours are ok, you are worth a million crops m8. Anything i can do you have only to holla m8

Hi Uncle D,

Ditto with Noshow and Moon! Glad you and yours are safe...

After Tsunmami in 05, I worked with local villagers, Koh Lak, Thailand. We got a hold of new designs for the rebuilidng of their homes... moved away from houses built on the ground and started to rebuild homes on stilts... what I am getting at, is maybe figuring out a new method for your outdoors patches to help if the floods come again... just some positive thoughts your way...

I am here to if you need anything... I'm pretty sure you got a bunch germinating now though, so it wont be to long ill we continue on with your show!

Peace my friend,

CM

hey noshow and mr moon , cheers guys ,
i appreciate the thoughts ..

hey chana ,,
on the house design , i thought of that while i was watching also ,,
if i lived on the coast where cyclones hit regularly ,
id be wanting to build some sort of a low dome structure ,
for the wind to blow over ,,
like one of them nose cones trucks have for airodynamics ..
couldnt be too hard with a few of the architects they have these days ..

Hi mate..... Thnx for that and Yes we have it here, trouble is the butterflies lay the eggs on the leaves and then that attack from there. Now I know they are around I can spray with neem oil or Garlic and chilli spray......goes well with the Mexican:D

Horrible news about what that darn weather did to your patch DM, glad its not a total write off for you.

I have close to 100 seedlings just up that didnt get affected at all thankfully gmt , and just popped another 200 or so .

Hopefully we will get something out of the season remaining and things return to the good old el nino pattern at the end of april ..

Domes were always the hardest and most expensive thing to build.

But they have come up with a new method that makes domes cheap and quick to build.

They inflate a large bladder the shape of the dome then cover it in concrete, when the concrete sets, deflate the bladder and you have a dome. I think they came up with the idea as a low cost building technique for Africa.

Due to the streamlined shape I would expect a dome would resist winds and waves pretty well, if the concrete was nice and thick it should resist anything nature can chuck at it.
