Grail: The Ultimate Haze Hybrid

Am I the only one that found that a bit hard to understand as a whole? It starts talking about Haze breeding then shifts into breeding for color for some reason? Maybe I'm missing how the two are related...I'm interested in colors so I'm thankful for the coloring info regardless :)

I read it this morning after my first pipe load. Good reading. I did get lost in the Substrate/ substance. Not sure if You were refering to medium as substrate, and what is the substance. metaphorical? I have a very high IQ rating, but You guys are talking over my head. Maybe something will rub off on Me

I took 30 pictires of assorted hazes and sativas to show You today. I took notes as i snapped pics. Then I got confused and am not sure which is which. Ill take more pics later. a couple at a time. Maui wowi is pretty Wild looking stuff, The Thais and Thai crosses are pretty wicked looking too. There probably 20 varieties here, multiples of Nev haze and Mango

My Haze male I used in my Cheese X Haze cross. :)

Turned out to be some of the most psychedelic and potent pot I've ever grown.

It's from the Oldtimer1/ACE Haze line.

It surprised me in it differences to 'normal' Dutch hybrids, especially the profusion of hairs on the young plants.

I merely/only came here looking to track down British Hempire!!!

...he is a nice person in my book, and regadless of his personal opinion of me, I wanted to tell him about some unique-yet-antique....Black-Calyx Oaxacan I am smoking on.

Folks, I'm very Sorry about my posts,...I have a brain disorder, where my sentences are always completely random, or in reverse order.(mercury dental work)
------------------
My IQ is no higher than the people in the houses next door to any of you btw.
....and my statements are just a reflection of maybe a few enlightening days, over the last 2000 or so that I've devoted to middle-american sativas.
------------------
Sam Skunk said that Haze was a seed out of a Colombian Calyx....a Red Tipped Sativa, iow.

Nevil's attraction to a key Female plant reminds me of how DJ Short utilizes female plants (in Mexico, and, in general).

DJ spawned his lines from a female near Colombia(like Haze's inception), and he lost it the same way that Nevil lost his first mother/strain base!
------------------
People everywhere can use sativa in projects a-plenty, but after the F2....and in-line with the opinion of the global scientific community(as a whole), you must b.c.(bx)before you create the generation which otherwise is known as the F4....iow...hybridization is, by innate nature, subtractive to the overall structure and stability of the original, or P1 lots/races.

Actually, the entire range of F4 plant offspring/and traits are plaqued whenst the primary/principal/original, matriarchal-derivitive is 'ignored', forgotten, or not re-plenished within the formation of the 3rd, or by the inception of the 4th seedlot/or generational years harvest.
--------------------
I read about general/primary techs of seed-saving... for edible, heirloom product 'sustainability', and/or iow.... the entire familie's life's works(of the farmer and labor staff).

Calyx Coloration is actually within a set of perhaps 5 main sat-heirloom traits, since vision is a key tool of a breeder possessing 5 senses along with intuition/and/or inspirational directions/guidance.
-------------------
DJ, Sam, Nevil, CBG, JH, positronics, DP and GH.....ALL derive their primary 500-800 canna-oil produce groups from middle american cannabis, clear head, thin leaved, c 1950's strains/heirloom seedlines.

The Middle-American Lines derive from a long(or strictly-distinct) line of Matriarchical Selections and/fromst.... in-line made (outdoor)seedlots.....further supported/spawned from pharmacological genius....either indian de la americana or fromst the distant india of ayurvedic botany/sciences.
-----------------
What is an antique, heirloom male's legacy, without a basic female couterpart, or distinct american seed source....as a support structure of the very/intrinsic/or pre-planned constituent oil profile???

And, what is a GraIL, WITHOUT A FEM,ININE, PHARAMACOLOGICAL-CONSTANT, OR....gRAIL MOTHER????

So what if haze birthed from a super-elie, select....colombian punto rojo momma...what of it????

And, where be it now???? >>>>or should we trace back to it's quantum mechanical wellspring????

Im In California, not far from Santa Cruz, where the Haze story took place. As far as Columbian, what I can tell You is in about 1972 or 73 We had someone bringing in thousands of Kilos of Colombian Red. They brought it into Oakland Harbor I think. It was gooey, sticky, stoney as fuck. Made Your eyes real red. It would sell for 300 an ounce today, but was only 40 bucks back then. Small very dark seeds. Body High and laugh high. Its unlike the Hazes I smoked tho.
Im sure I smoked the Original Haze back then. I remember some trippin highs in the mountains that lasted all day. I just always thought later that I had no tollerance to THC at that time

Mr A

hows it goin ,its great too see you here

i look forward to your contributing post as you've always seem to be a wealth of knowledge

Sam Skunk said that Haze was a seed out of a Colombian Calyx....a Red Tipped Sativa, iow

im curious to know more about your post above when did SAMS actually say this,i dont recall ever seeing this post

So what if haze birthed from a super-elie, select....colombian punto rojo momma...what of it????

basically history has changed from the story we all know today of a four way sativa hybrid

I think Haze is a 4 way all Sativa hybrid, Indian Oxacan Thai Columbian,

Those four strains represent such a broad gene pool and there is such diversity within each and every one of those strains , that trying to recreate haze, using those 4 landraces, would be a tall order indeed. I also believe, phenotypically, that haze predominately Thai in terms of its effect.

I disagree that Nevil is simply trying to recreate First Haze. I have read the whole entire thread on the grail, and I do not believe that is his goal.

Think about it Brothers and Sisters

We are looking for something new.
I think, and this is purely my opinion and speculation, We are looking for a special toxin. A very special High. One that takes us beyond where We go normally. We are looking for a Grail. A WarpWeed Grail. We woke up in the 1970"s and thought it would always be available. Its Not. If You could go back in time and tell Me, I would have got the seeds for Us. You cant , and I didnt. Were all gonna have to figure this out together. Its a full on Mystery, no matter what geno Haze originated from it

And, what is a GraIL, WITHOUT A FEM,ININE, PHARAMACOLOGICAL-CONSTANT, OR....gRAIL MOTHER????
The grail will be the best single parent mating I can do with Nevil's Haze. The search is on for the mother. It may be necessary to specifically breed this plant for the purpose.

You're right there. FH was genetically the best Haze, but still an unfinished product.

It was 3-400, assuming cannabis was introduced to Central America in the 1500s. No idea what the Spanish hemp was like but it was grown for fibre for rope, sailcloth etc. We know very high grade cannabis was around in Mexico in 1905 when a group of Mormons moved to Sonora, so in those 400 ish years the Mexicans bred really strong dope out of what was probably only good for rope. I doubt much study of Mexican cannabis traditions has ever been done so I have no idea how long after the introduction of hemp they had Oaxacan Gold, might have been 100 years, might have been 300, who knows?

ohh sorry i misread the zeros bh ..
i guess its a case of taking low potency cannabis to a good environment and selecting from there , as you i wonder how long that took .

Low THC and other compounds has to be specifically bred for. It is unnatural for cannabis otherwise. Wild sativas get you stoned. Breeders can suppress or enhance these characteristics, but it's naturally there.
Dope and spices were very sought after commodities 400 years ago as they are today. People have always understood the value of seeds. I'd be surprised if they had only hemp seeds to work with.

This is the healing plant, given to the nations, in the future?( By God) Fits the bill, Can cure cancer. how many other things can it do. Why do they ( Government)want Us not to have it?

If you Wiki "Spice Trade", it's evident that Spain had access to cannabis from all around the then known world by the time they landed in the America's. Cannabis was already potent 2,400 years prior to then in China (where cannabis is said to have originated). South American hemp populations are more likely remnants of abandon cultivations, IMHO.

I realize that a good mystery starts with speculation which this thread has massed a great deal of. How do we start laying concrete with all of these ideas? How bout MNS be beta testers for us and let you guys enjoy our best NH crosses? Do I hear contest?:D

EDIT: Hash resin found in apothecary vessel 2650 B.C.E. in Egypt. http://www.teenwitch.com/herbs/cannabis.html

If anything I would guess that the imported hemp strains probably watered down the original strains, of the Mayans and other peoples who were very advanced agriculturally and used marijuana extensively for sacramental purposes.
I would guess one avenue to use if you really wanted to find the best buds from that area, would be to find some old school shaman, Don Juan type, and see if you could bum some seeds off of him. You never know you might find one of the real Oldschool indigenous strains.

Hi Nev,

No I didn't mate. I originally used it in a cross for learning purposes really as it's taste is so distinctive I thought it's progress through multiple back crosses might be easier to observe, what with it being so different from the Exodus clone I've crossed it with.

I really hadn't expected it to turn out so well as breeders were saying things like you only get about 1 good Haze male in 20.

If that is indeed the case, I wouldn't know as it was the only male and was used as an afterthought really but my mates nicknamed it "The Cheese
Electric" as it was such savage stuff that finishes in around 14 weeks but was totally Haze in taste and a very sativa like high.

G`day Speculators
Here`s a little annecdote I found in my travells on the webs , I don`t say it is the be all and end all but just another interesting snippet re cannabis in the Americas . From my thread The new world http://www.mrnice.nl/forum/showthread.php?t=4918 ;
A year later, Wheeler and a fellow named Tom Newman, went to live with the Nahuatl Indians, the people who grew the best grass in the
world. From there they went to Michuacan where the famous Michuacan grass came from. But how did it get there in the first place?
An 80-year-old Indian told Wheeler a story that he `d heard from his grandfather about that. He said that in the year 1510 the explorer
Fernando Cortez arrived with a boatload of Moors. Most of the Moors just laid around and drank coconut beer, but 10 of them hiked to the Pass of
Cortez, located between two volcanos. They saw the most beautiful fruit and crops growing there and asked the locals if they could plant the seeds
from their favorite grass that they `d brought from Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan there. And the Indians said yes. And that was the
introduction of grass to the Western World, says Krassner, at least how it was explained to me.

Just throwin it out there ! Appologies I wasn`t able to contribute it in real time as my puter has been down the last few days ,probably somefin to do with the 20 000 lightning strikes that hit my state during the week .
Thanks for sharin
Elmer Bud
