Nice

I for one believe you mate. I put some 30 cm plants in the ground 4 weeks ago, now a couple are around 1.2 metres, and that's a two thousand kms south, further away from the equator than you. Be exhilarating to see what you could produce in your neck of the jungle, if you could grow from August to June:)

hey bushweed ,, yep t his time of year is the ants pants for growing .
we are getting an inch of rain a day at least coupled with 33 degree temps between storms and leading up to t hem ,, darn sweaty ,, veging bliss for the sativas ...
there has been the odd plant go 2 seasons , not mine ,, a friends , turned into a monster on the second run ..

Hi don, lovely shots as always m8, love the frog pics, he actually does look happy and smiling, and high lol, was he near by when you had a puff lol. I think its your knowledge and skills that have gotten the plants through such a harsh season more than anything :) .
Hi shaun m8, good to see they are chugging along nicely. This gen was made to express as much as the genetics in the line as possible in a single gen. Imho the f2 gen, if reached with a large/high enough ne, is the place to really shape, define, refine, or set the direction of the line. I like working in the f2 gen as it shows the best, worst and everything in between that the line offers. It allows one to hone in on the most pleasing phenotypical expressions, and to get rid of the undisirable. Hopefully the work done here in the f2 will eliminate the undisirable weirdness indoors within the line, whilst retaining and focusing on the disired traits. From here it will be split into 2 seperate f3 lines narrowed to a lower ne ( for indoor and outdoor growers) and a larger ne single f3 line produced for breeding/preservation purposes of my own.
Normaly i like to do all the work first on seperate lines, and do the outcross last, so one ends up with say z99 f3/f4 x zoidchunk f3/f4 to make mbs2, as opposed to say (c99 x deepchunk) x zoidfuel then worked to f3 to stabilize. Both would give somewhat vaguely similar results, but the first option not only gives much better vigor, but is far more controled.
Its funny because technicaly the mbs is an inbreeding program, but essentialy it is both at once in a weird way lol.
But its a wee bit different in the case of the z99, because it has gotten to this point with a large ne, it will be possible to create more stable f3s that retain most of the vigor of the line. For the most part the z99 is being made into a breeding tool for hybridization, but i think it will put out some great pure gens along the way, and the first real test of this will be the narrowed f3 z99 lines.
Onto this gen though, the f2s. i found the shorter flowering expressions great, but the longer flowering ones really float my boat, i think you wil be most happy with those ones.
Your pics are looking lovely m8, and the mbs you have looks lovely too, cant wait to hear your opinion on the puff on them.
Anyways great to see you over here m8
much respect

hey mr moon ,, always a pleasure ,, and thanks for the kind words ..
im sure your as happy as i am , prolly moreso to see these plants growing , and the lovely things that are coming of them ,, like watching the kids grow up ,, very rewarding ...
im looking foward to the f3s , ..
gotta add its great to work with someone with such integrity as yourself , both thumbs up mate ...

Those look great! Be careful. Don't want you to be eaten by some wild semi-mythical Aussie jungle beast in the dark. I think your reasoning about no one being crazy enough to be in the jungle at night is correct.

hey oscar , nice to see you man ...
im always of the mind when i go there that im probably the most scary thing out there ,, i try to maintain that , it makes me feel more confident , its likely not true , but makes me feel better ,, lol ....

Hi All

Shaun lovely looking mbs mate. I have three going right now. Even at the seedlong stage. I am seeing some very nice bushy growth going on. No smells yet, but looking good. I have some mns seed going next to them, and the mns are a tad taller, but these are quite stout. Hope they work out great for you. If we go med here next year. The mbs will be grown once again.

Hey DM,

I havn't checked this thread out for a bit, and today stopped by. I see you say you're having a bad outdoor season, or maybe better described as not a perfect season. Yet the ladies are looking nice. Also nice to see you, and some of our friends out in the bush with you. I would be happy to grow, and stop if I could go big one time like that. Keep your chin up. The grow is looking great. I know I only have three mbs going, but they are looking swell.

BTW wanted to ask you if you have any mbs going atm? How are they looking? Be well, and thank you very much for your kindness...Ns

hey josh , thanks man ..
Well now i know you know what c99 is comprised of , so there definately is some haze in the combination ..
the zoidfuel line is png gold , aussie bush sativa and chinese indica ..
so quite a pedigree there in the z99 .

There is a change in the air in the tropical part of australia where i live right now ,, the storms have begun ,, some welcome it ,, i do in many ways also ,, but as for flowering plants ,, well its the beginning of the end for them ,,
however the plants in veg mode will take off like a rocket , expect up to a foot and more of growth per week this time of year ,,

just incase you think thats impossible , ill load up a weekly to fortnightly shot of them so you can see ,,,, im pretty sure they will be growing as fast as cannabis can grow , or than you have seen ...

heres the size of the plants now ,, as promised ,, 20 litre bucket beside ..

Oh trust me, I believe it, I used to grow in a part of northern cali, where the temp regularly got up to 105 to 110 F in the heat of summer, and especially growing giant indica haze hybrids. I've seen haze plants over 15 feet tall, and I always topped my plants at the beginning. You guys are doing a remarkable job...
That z99 looks like the bomb!!!!! I am living vicariously, through this post.
Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

hey josh , the joys of summer hey .. ill get the first field pic with the sallies up soon , have seen them since ,, they could use a little less rain ,, lol ....

Hi m8, i feel exactly the same about you, the babies and working with you on them. I couldnt be working with a better partner on these and am honored to do so m8. Heres to a very bright and high future.
much respect always m8

Hi mr moon ,, the more i think of the potential of the afghani we have sourced x the png sativa that we are hoping to obtain in the near future could well be something many have searched for ,, a grail of its own .. heres t o new elites and brighter futures ...

Hey mr moose . hope all is well with you ??

My apologies for not updating this thread lately , been some hellish wet weather and been just dealing with it as i can ...
Flowerijng plants have been attacked heavily by caterpillers , most ive ever seen , apart from that theres plenty of mould and mud and slosh ,, lol ...

The more recent sativa additions are looking ok , some suffering a little from a bit of waterlogging ,, ill mound them up as i can to allow as much run off as i can .. really not a lot of sun to talk of and the seedlings i planted a week ago are damping off ..

Youll find it hard to believe im not giving up yet ,, hahaha ,, bit of a die hard ..
I will plant some more seeds at the end of january ,, ill build up some high ground and cover with plastic to avoid damping off etc ,,
if im lucky ,, they will be planted out in mid march and the wet season will finish at the end of march ,, they will be stunners if that happens ,, can only try ...

Yeah... Mother nature can be a real bitch sometimes, hang in there bro.
thanks josh ,, hope i didnt offend you in the other thread ,, my only intentions were to take the bite from a possible heated situation , good karma , peace and all that stuff .....

So the news from the jungle is good , we have managed to fence out the critter thats been giving us hell in the biggest patch .. a motion detected camera did the job to tell us what we wre dealing with .. and easily fixed t hen ..

the weather has been pretty good , really hot days ,, showers/storms on some , but mostly hot and hot ... plants are loving it ...

I noticed some trees that were once small and didnt block any sun , ventilation etc , had made quite big of themselves the past few years .. blocking sunlight from half of one patch for around 4 hrs a day ,, they had to come down ...
ive managed with a handsaw and a bunch of grunt , to cut down 3 of the 5 offenders , and a huge over hanging branch , has made a massive difference already .. i will take the other 2 down ,, and the difference will be unbeleiveable for the last bits of t his grow and the next one ..

the plants are looking good , small still ,but with the new found light they will boom in the coming weeks ...

i will take a few pics next run out there and following runs ,, its all on the go now ...

Not at all man, you set me straight. I was letting those guys drag me down in the mud with them. Thanks for bringing me to my senses.

Glad to hear things are going well out in the jungle. That is awesome. can't wait to see the new posts.

i look foward to getting the cam out there also ,,
saw a big black snake on the way out today , he didnt seem that bothered by me ,, would have been able to getr some great shots ,, well that was till my grow partener rumbled up the track like a herd of rinos , hehehe ...

Lol and I thought you were a greenie.
I understand mate I have the same problem with the black wattles, they are like weeds and the lantana just loves going up into them, followed by the cockspur:mad:
I just give them a bit of a ringbark so they go slowly and just cut the lantana at the bottom, you would be suprised at how much mulch I get out of that:D

we did consider ringbarking too ,, not sure how long they will take to die with the good growing weather , anyhows , im sure they will eventually need to come down anyhows ... greenie or no greenie ,, hehe ..
i used to be a tree pruner for a job , but i did it with care , used to bug me on occasion t he lovely trees we had to chop down ,, but you know humans , when its in the way ....
the trees won t die ,, they are pretty tough ,, ill let them grow back a little and control the height ...

Was it poisonous? I heard theirs lots of poisonous snakes out that way.

Well im pretty sure they are poisoness , but they are non agressive , quite cool snakes actually and i dont have a problem with them ,, lived with a 8 ft one for a while now , we both respect each others space ,, specially me .. lol ...

hi ,
well things are beginning to pick up a little in the patch , the clearing ive done has really opened things up and improved the light heaps , should be bigger plants , fatter buds and less mould , fingers crossed ,,
anyhow nothing special to look at now really , ill grab another pic from a view the same as this week in another 10 day;s to 2 weeks and we can see what difference the clearing i have done has made ,, should be heaps ..
onward and upward .
