Are SSH, Jack Herer and Diesel the same thing?

Mr Soul, one of the Bros Grimm was the guy who bought the bag of Jack Herer buds that the seeds that grew into Princess, Cafe Girl and Genius came from. Mr Soul is the one who bred Cindy 99. He pollinated Princess with a Shiva Skunk then did several backcrosses to Princess. The first seeds he released for sale was a tiny batch of Cinderella 88 which was 88% Princess genes, after that he created Cinderella 99 through a further backcross to Princess.

So from Nevil to Mr. Soul to today when everyone seems to be using C99 in hybrids, it's totally played out and most of the modern variants aren't as good as the original C99 from Bros Grimm.

LMAO!

How do you know this shit?!?!

I don't know to thank you or try to stup you.:)

I can see that this place is going to be great for my cannaducation.:D

Some highly incorrect info here that I feel needs to be corrected.

There is only one Sour Diesel cutting, it is also called East Coast Sour Diesel after Rez added the East Coast tag..

British Hempire,
There is no incorrect information there, and I will take my sources opinion over yours any day regarding SD or just about anything else for that matter.

Good day.

Get over yourself Jesse, have you grown any of the diesel cuts or are you taking your info from 'sources'?

Quite simple, if you don't know the lines and plants first-hand then don't talk like you do, I have grown a lot of diesel from seeds and cuttings, I've seen and smoked Soma's cut and discussed it with him in person, all I wrote was from first-hand personal experience rather than some 'source'. I was there in 2005 when the Dampkring first entered diesel in the HTCC and smoked it, I hold the ECSD cut and have for nearly 5 years, I could pick up the phone right now and ask a friend to root a tray of Headband and NYCD for me to pick up in a couple of weeks. Hell, I could get Soma's cut if I asked, friends hold that one too, I've grown at least a dozen diesel variants from seed and have a couple dozen more in my stash. I love diesel and have done since I first tasted it. I've smoked diesel buds sent by friends from NYC, people who were actually involved in the grow ops that produced the diesels in the first place. I've chatted with Roger in Holland, smoked NYCD with Soma during the awards ceremony where he lifted the cup he won with NYCD in 2006, he gave me a large bud of it which I stupidly tried to smuggle home to England to show friends and was caught with at Manchester Airport, I have the endorsement on my old passport to prove it, because it weighed 27 grams I got away with a warning and a 6 month endorsement because under 28 grams is not a recordable criminal offence. I could go on and on, I have been there, seen it, done it and got the T-shirt when it comes to diesel, have you?

You made a fool of yourself with your incredibly incorrect and deluded Cheese Deception thread, for your own sake don't shoot more holes in the little that's left of your credibility by doing the same thing over Diesel. No-one knows everything about everything but you seem to have a delusion in that regard.

Your post was completely uninformed drivel and I quite rightly corrected you, don't have a hissy fit, be an adult and learn to admit when you're wrong.

Cue another cut n paste attack lol.

Seems you haven't learn much if anything from your disgraceful behaviour recently, everyone else who took umbrage was wrong and you were right, eh?

I wrote an article about C99 a while back, I'll have to retrieve it from my old PC and post it. Mr Soul wrote in some detail about the background and breeding of the Cinderella 99, Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 lines, all the info is out there, just needs time, patience and inclination to hunt it down and filter it into a coherent picture. I've had the time on my hands in recent years to do so and I'm a bit of an info sponge, learning and knowledge is my great passion, even above my passion for cannabis.

Pathetic, the best you can do is to make a childish insult.

So I'm wrong and you're right but you present no cogent argument just a silly picture of Nicolas Sarkozy trying to look as tall as Carla Bruni.

You ooze class lol.

Sensi is a shell of what it was in the 90's. They will never get my business again.

You won't see people bitching about their work on their forums - they are quickly deleted once posted. Though, you will see many people complaining about no germination and when they do germinate they are nothing like the seeds by the same names from the early 90's.

Hey B.H.

thank u for all ur recent posts, and the many i have read in the past.
Always a pleasure. Im glad ur on the right track again,,.. good vibes to u, man!

your were recently just saying how your enjoying posting and you havnt had this feeling for a long time ,dont let any BS deter you ,i thought you knew better that talking to a wall wouldnt answer you back ,somethings/people will never change soo its best to change wat we can and just ignore wat we cant

but since you added your 2 cents id like to ask for the whole quater

on this topic of discussion im sure you've read the whole thread ,seems i made history when i was the first to get verbally ruffed up by neville .if you all know me by now i want to know everything ,and i speak my opinion respectfully always .

i understand your comparison and the truth of the BS politics behind the CC with entries not being of the lineage as they are named, but im more curious as to the big question

do you believe SSH/JH are related to the chem line?

In order to get a handle on what Nev is saying about SSH, Jack and Diesel being the same cuts you need some insight into how the companies that enter the HTCC do things
.

below is a quote from neville ,this is exactly wat he has said ,ive asked personally

"diesel aka chemdawg" It's your assumption that Chemdawg is Diesel, not mine

Cheers guys, I just don't like being ridiculed in an adolescent way, I should rise above it and ignore it. I shall try harder to do so in future!

I have no idea if SSH or Jack are related to the Chem line, I sincerely doubt it. Even Chemdawg the guy has no idea what the genes of Chemdawg are. Maybe pbud or wonkanobe will spill the beans one day on what the genes are. Chemdawg came from Colorado, that was where the bud was grown that the seeds were picked out of. Given that Colorado has a burgeoning legal med scene now we may see some oldtimers in that state coming out of the woodwork and the truth about Chemdawg's genes may come out. Or maybe not, it's a mystery we may never solve.

It's been speculated that Chemdawg is a Mexican x Indica of some sort, maybe it is, but it's definitely leaning heavy to the indica if it is. it is a strong possibility that Chemdawg came from Holland, Nev sure did send out a ton of seed to the US. Funnily enough, in his 1985 catalogue there is a Mexican/Afghan hybrid for sale. I'm not suggesting this is where Chemdawg came from but it's fun to speculate! If one were growing a Mexican x Indica of some sort in the late 80s, Nev would be the most likely source.

Nev, what did the Mexican/Afghan taste and smell like?

Maybe the C5 cut which has a diesel smell has been called Diesel in the coffeeshops and cups and Nev was alluding to that?

Someone send nev some Chemdawg buds and see what he thinks it is! We know the history of Chemdawg goes back to the 80s as the guys who sold the buds that contained the seeds had been growing the strain for a few years by the time the buds were sold in the early 90s so if you want to have a guess at what it might be, take a look at what seeds were being sold in the mid to late 80s, Nev was by far the prime mover in seed sales at that time.

Diesel and Chemdawg are related, the info that is in HnL's article is known to be correct, guys like JJ-NYC who were around and involved have confirmed it as fact. However, the Mass Super Skunk is a big part of the Diesels, the ECSD cut shows a lot of MSS influence imho.

i was just hopin you would stay on that positive note you been flying on and that we would all ride the wave as nev/shanti has asked

I have no idea if SSH or Jack are related to the Chem line

im askin your opinion since you have much experience with all of these lines ,i know you kow your shit ,im not sure though from your response if you have read this whole thread .

as you said wonkanobe/pbud might kno ,i dont even think they kno exactly

The owner of a seed co. in Amsterdam in the '90s was the first person I knew of who was using the name Diesel and THAT plant was NL5HzCxSK1HzC. What people have been calling Diesel since then, I don't know anything about. If you want to know who that was, do your homework
.

quoted nev above

my point/opinion is according to wonkanobe and chemdog who has posted online i believe recently at the farm is from their story/timeline it doesnt seem possible that the chem line came from the haze parents nev refers too

as you suggest possibly ,somthin from the mid 80's catalouge but i doubt it .

if you have reads nevs response to me he refers to a specific cutting he worked and passed to shanti ,soo its obviously not related to the old seed catalouge or anything to do with a cup winner

id love to see a release of this line

British Hempire -" However, the Mass Super Skunk is a big part of the Diesels, the ECSD cut shows a lot of MSS influence imho."

You bet it does! That is where ALOT of that stretch comes from. If you compare the true chemdawgs they're aroma is MUCH more subtle than the IN YOUR FACE type stench of the diesel.

Have you run the MassSS British? I recently obtained it from a friend and appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Hehe, bigherb caught me out there, I missed the odd page of this thread, musta been too high to be arsed reading it all!

I dunno who Nev is referring to when he talks about that use of the name diesel, I could speculate but I have no idea so I won't.

Hiya kyle, I haven't run the MSS but I would like to, many say the Giesel, which is half MSS is possibly the best of the entire chem/diesel family.

To me, Chem D is rotten fruit soaked in fuel whereas the ECSD is, as you say, an in your face lemon/solvent. The Chem 4 I have only tried once and didn't care for it, to me it was like pear drops (the old UK sweets) with a bit of a solvent edge and maybe a tad of cat piss. The Chem 91 I am not sure if I have tried the real deal, had a cut of it and did some S1s, none of which impressed me, I think I had a bunk cut, it was a frail, spindly thing that was incredibly tricky to keep healthy. The Headband I like a lot and that has a bit of fruit in it, it's way closer in taste/smell to Chem D than the ECSD is.

The ECSD sure does stretch, here she is in my garden right now, this was a small 3-4 inch tall cutting I put straight into a 3.5 litre pot under 12/12 the moment roots appeared out of the cube and is heading for 2 feet, will probably hit 3 feet before she stops and will be two main colas with two smaller ones.

To BH -

Hypothetical Humor: Talking to smuggler friends (I've been stuck in a basement for most of my life, I've been happy the whole time though :)) on ways to get you and Nevil some cuts.

Where's the brotherhood of eternal love when you need them? Wait they are/were usually THERE when you needed them. :)

Hehe, I always wish i had a Star Trek transporter for such circumstances! I have a friend who lives in Holland who keeps ringing me up on Skype and waving big blocks of killer hash at me on the webcam, every time I wish we had a transporter so he could send me some! lol

I'm going to go see 'Mr Nice' at the cinema this week hopefully, might pick up some smuggling tips from that!

its all love thats wat family is for

I myself have been intrigued by this statement ,aswell as others its not that important really but i like to be able to make sense of things ,everything neville has said thus far i made connections and its all very clear IMO except this topic

who else could it be but shanti or himself although i have some knowledge of the history of the canna seed companies i was only 8 in 93 and dont recall any seed bank using the name diesel in the early 90's ,the parents he refers to have been held by himself and shanti only .

id love to hear any thoughts

The first time I heard the diesel name that I can recall was in 2005 when the Dampkring entered some Diesel in the cup, they sold Soma's diesel buds for a while but I don't know if what they entered in the cup was from Soma.

Like I mentioned earlier, the C5 NL5Hz cut is often called diesel due to the smell/taste, but that's not the same lineage as Nev gives, he gives the same lineage as SSH or Mango Haze, but that doesn't mean that the diesel he refers to is a SSH or MH as there could have been different parents of the same lineage involed.

This is one for Shanti and Nev to clear up methinks.

You got me thinking now of where I could have heard of diesel prior to 2005 and I'm coming up blank! lol
