The Great Cheese Deception

Hi all :)
Well to further illustrate my point, below is an icmag link too what they list as the beginning of the strains and hybrids forum. Now if you were to start from the February 2004 starting point listed below and continue through the years to the present (2009) one will notice an absence of any mention of the UK variety known as 'Cheese' for quite sometime. Strange a strain that is allegedly from 1988 gets so little mention publicly for so long. Especially a site that is ran by Gypsy Nirvana, who at the time of Icmag.coms founding was UK based and who still operates business within the country. A website ran by Brits, with many British posters, but no mentioning the famed 'UK Cheese' for so long? A bit odd dont you think? lol. Sure I could come up with excuses to explain it away too, as Im sure you all will no doubt. It would be interesting to see what kind of date we can put on the first documentation of this variety anywhere, not just the internet. Ill bet its not nearly 1988, lets call it a hunch.

The history of cannabis forums is interesting, below is one of the earliest cannabis discussion boards which is still available to read publicly online. There are some familiar faces at this site, but what is really interesting is how far back the discussions go and how noticeably absent variety's such as 'UK Cheese' and others are from the discussion. For a variety that has been making the rounds allegedly since 1988, the fact its not mentioned at all is notable. Feel free to browse for yourself at a forum that is 11 years old, you wont find any mention of 'UK Cheese' for quite sometime into the future. Notice we're picking up at 1998 here folks, a full 10 years after it was allegedly discovered and passed around by the Exodus collective.

And in addition to the fact 'UK Cheese' is not mentioned on any public forums for many years, we have an actual post from somebody connected too the real 'Exodus' crew.

So 1999, and no recollection of 'UK Cheese' from the Exodus collective from those who were actually a part of that scene?

This is such a boring thread, send it to the vaults!
Peace GG

I Agree , It's A Which Came First ; The Chicken , Or The Egg !!
Whatever It's Origin ( The Gada Da Vida , Eden , Or Some Millenia Later , The Exodus Collective )
Cheese is A Nickname , Nothing More , Nothing Less
It Gives Your Carbon Filters A Workout , That's For Sure
But Skunk#1 ( A-1 ) Has Always Had A Reputation For High Odour " Just Brush Past Her And The Odour Eminates Intensely "
Hence The Name Skunk Was Borne , Commercially , Circa 1983
A Canadian Import ( Direct From The Afghan-Soviet Era ) It's Genetics Furthered , And Stabilised By Sensi Seeds
Cheese Is Just A Homogenised Name Given To A Pre Existing Strain
Like My Welsh Cheddar Was When I Was Gifted it
What Next ? , Monteray Jack ( Clint Eastwood X Jack Herer ) ?:D
Good Herb Needs No Explanation
It Speaks For Itself !
Cryptic Joe

It came from Neville's stock, in '88, one year before ''his USA'' contact turned him over.
Sam has often said Nev worked IX's of his original Supplied seeds, in fact that's all he said, unless it suits.
Often I suspect that it is what this line is, I do not know for sure.
If you reverse it, it does not segregate, but I don't mean her traits are stable as she is a 'Sport'.

We collected and imported some of the earliest Skunks in Holland, around the late 80s, the Cheese type of Flavour, and Taste was common, then.
To us, it is how Skunk used to be.
Sams skunk is sweet.
If it is sams OG supplied seed, it is very different to those I have ever seen from those stocks, which are more red, more sweet.

Photo #1 in this thread was a plant, grown indoors, never said it was outdoor, just one of 100's, all the same.
Clone had been the same for many years.
Photo is not photo-shopped, or in any way altered it is cropped, as I was holding the stem, no flash it was a bright morning.
It is not altered in any way.
Plant is trimmed, going off to be hung, it is 2 heads, 1 stalk, I was holding the stalk, plants where topped and trimmed to form 2 dense heads, I just took a pic to show a friend on Cannabisworld.
Wasn't that important at the time.
As Hempy says, there where other pics posted at the time of the whole plant, before trim, post trim.

Clones from that Mother plant survived 2 weeks in transit to BC, 12 or 14 days, rooted within 7 for Vision Creator in BC, he was asked to spread it widely, for free and did.
I passed clones to a few people, none others Shared it widely for free, only Vision and his friends in BC that I know of.
Cheese is not difficult to clone, it was a SOG growers dream plant, cuts root easy, real quick, she grows fast from flowered clone, which is what that plant is exactly, just one of hundreds of rooted, flowered clone flowered before 6inch high.
Much like Nev used to grow at the castle I think. SOG.
For sure, to me that plant is best grown this way.
Although, it is MUCH better outdoors, under full sun.
In tight SOG we got the best out of her and around 1g a watt of very good quality, very, very in demand herb.
All expression of this plant matched the original finder of the lines mother and findings, nothing different in any regard, we had much discussion.
Plants finished the same, using the same method as me he got same weights, there is no doubt that it is the same ''OG Cheese'' plant.

Oldskool UK people love the traditional 'SKUNK' flavour, the sour side, which is what Cheese is, or was.
That is because that is how we remember the first 'SKUNK'
It was not sweet.
It reeked.

Was no long pistil red haired Cheese, never.
Was no difficult to root Cheese, never.
Was no Blue cheese or anything other than green.
Was no hermie cheese trait or allele
Was no other Cheese.

There was a lot of Kachina clones spread about, Cheese x Tw BX, Cheese x Cheese/Tw and Cheese BX's
These show plant types pretty common in the pics in this thread, and elsewhere as Cheese.
Compare them to Kachinas.

Jesse, on a personal note.
Very big respects on your recent Stance and postings of truths.
I mean not this thread brother, sure you will understand.

Respects to the house.

Jesse
you should listen to DrBenways. He speaks the truth whereas you are clearly misinformed. Cheese is a skunk no1 pheno discovered by the exodus crew in luton in 1988. This is a well documented fact as is the fact that that photo you have posted is a fraud as is to be honest virtually everything associated with HHF/Queerjoe/ or whatever name he is now using to trick folk - probably British Hempire is most people's opinion.
Anyway, please dont take an opposing view point as being disrespectful, but you are wrong

sorry to go a little off topic! but for those in the uk who used to go to free partys, some of you may have gone to DIY partys. Diy sound system are the longest running dance organisation inthe World. and are the pioneers of free (illegal) partys. tonight they are holding a free party to celebrate their 20th birthday, party is illegal, and is in a secret location, (dont know exactly where my self yet;)( go to there facebook to get details:) its in the midlands is all i can say. peace and rave safe

The DIY crew, it's been a while since I've heard them mentioned! Memories!
I've you get there then have a good one billy!

Peace GG

Cheese...

Ive Grown lots of Cheese! Everyone around here goes mad for the stuff....
Around 98/99 I had a cheese cut that smelt like pure dogshit..... it was awful, but beautiful! (if you know what i mean)...

Years on (around 2001)I bought Big buddhas Cheese in seed form.... and got a beautiful mother... she didn't seem as smelly as the Dogshit cheese I once had... but she was still powerful dank & pungent, very similar smell and a great yeilder..
BUT ever since then.... i cannot get a descent Cheese anywhere??? Ive bought 2 packs of buddhas cheese seeds and 2 packs of Buddhas Blue Cheese, and the girls have all had a musky earthy smell/taste...which was never in my earlier cheeses... I had a blueCheese years ago from Buddha, that was so beautiful...it tasted like Lamb & Mint sauce, it was foooooking amazing! But i cannot get anything like it anymore?
Even when people pass me a 'cheese' joint...it always has this earthy taste...Im gutted that i cannot find anything like these old flavours!
I can see myself buying some SK#1 soon.....

Quality Thread! Thanks!

Awesome stuff. So your spraying your girles with something which will stress them, then they will go male durning flowering which will cause them pollenate the females around thus making feminized seeds?.

Keep us updated!! :) GL.

Link doesent work mate, plus I would stay away from all these "hyped" strains nothing but bad news and you can never get to the bottom of it. I have been looking on the net about kush's and diesel's and it takes you on a long story that never ends though. I found out a lot but who knows if its true.

http://www.drgreenthumb.com

He does cheese apperently from the og clone but go back a few months he was saying suicide cut so....

i met Brightside beffore i joined icmag,,,i was been on overgrow.com but when OG crashed i thought the onlinegame was over,,,,

dont believe the hype yourself jesse....who do you think introduced "Cheese"?,,,who do you think sam spoke with?,,,,

i got my snip from a ground level,,,,god know what everyone "thinks",,,,everyone is floating like airheads on the internet,,,do know the score inderpendant from the internet ,,,have you ever heard of glen? ,,,glen ran the exodus,,

if you want the "exodus" cheese,,i got this through Brightside direct from haz manor,,, here it is,,,,its not the best "cheesysnip",,as my blue clone is better but its the 1 the exodus boys had and passed out,,,,my blue clone is from sheffield and i personly know people who have been mothering it for 17years ,,i got my cheese strait from the haz,,,trust me its exodus,,,but the exodus aint the best cheesy snip

Ha I thought it humorous MMM :)

When you try too bring the entire picture together for anyone interested in learning about varieties like Cheese or some of the elite cuttings that once dominated the conversational landscape on the forums you can be met with some stiff resistance. Often times its just a difference in opinion, which is too be expected with even some of our most advanced theories and concepts taught at the University level today. However there are also those who stand too gain from the ignorance of the average poster/consumer, and often times these people can get quite nasty when its their wallets or internet reputation that are on the line. But all it takes is some solid evidence to get your point across and the problem is usually said and done with.

Below is another picture of a supposed UK Cheese variety, notice that it looks different than all of the others, including the original. However, if there was going to be a fake impostor UK Cheese, this would be it. A beautiful plant, in fact it reminds me of a plant selected out of a pack of MNS Shit by a member here known as True. An exceptional looking specimen, but of course obviously it varies a great deal from the original. But if we're going to include some ordinary looking suspect UK Cheese pictures, why not bring up some real nice ones as well? As I mentioned, I'm sure these numerous UK Cheese clones floating around are good. Much like with the many fake G13 varieties, there must have been a reason for somebody to clone them and keep them. But are they the original? Well its pretty obvious, but I started this thread for others to make up their own minds.

A Beautiful, but suspect UK Cheese
