Lu-Khan loves the sun

Thanks for your response, @quinxstar
I really appreciate your advice and feedback as an outdoor grower. āœŒļø

I’ll focus more on the final stage of flowering and post-harvest care. It’s true that, for some reason, I’ve always viewed outdoor strains as ā€œless important,ā€ and I probably didn’t give them enough attention. I’ll make sure to do better 😊

As for the spacing between plants, that was a big mistake and a lesson learned for next season. To be honest, I was also partly counting on pruning out some male plants šŸ˜…
I 100% agree quinxstar.
I suggest you to trim most of side branches to try to have them one bud style shape

Quick update—running out of time šŸ˜…šŸ¼

The automatic varieties are ripening; the whole garden smells wonderful.

A small patch of mold appears here and there on one of the Malawi plants; I’m gradually trimming it off.

Hi, fellow growers šŸ˜ŠšŸ’š

Sorry I haven’t posted here in a while—lots of work, life, family, and honestly, not much has been going on šŸ˜…

The autoflowering strains are harvested. To be honest, this was my last time growing autoflowering strains. I don’t enjoy the high—it’s too monotonous, no complexity, no fun, just a stone.
However, to be fair, ACE’s autoflowering strains have something extra. Aside from great taste and aroma (which, in my experience, isn’t hard to achieve with autoflowering strains), they also have an interesting effect—I think the Malawi side contributes an interesting aspect to the high in this hybrid. The effect is pleasantly psychedelic and intoxicating, which is truly exceptional for an autoflowering strain. Despite this, I won’t be paying any further attention to these strains. I’ll focus on semi-autoflowering strains whose crosses aren’t based on ruderalis (I suspect that ruderalis is what’s tainting the effect of these strains). For next year, I have photoperiod strains lined up whose genetics include UEL (Ultra Early Love).

As for the Devils—they’re still in the ground. Only two remain; as mentioned here, they were planted too close together, and after one of them started showing signs of a fungal stem disease, I pulled it out.
The remaining two look good; they have pink stigmas and are producing an abundance of GIANT trichomes 🤩 I think you can tell this is a hashish strain. They have a pleasant floral/sweet/creamy scent. I’ll keep them as long as possible—temperatures are low, but we haven’t had any heavy rain yet, and I haven’t seen any flower rot anywhere. It’s definitely a strong and hardy outdoor strain šŸ’Ŗ

I’ll try to add some photos of the dried buds from the autoflowering strains too 😊

Have a great week, brothers! āœŒļøšŸ€

Hi fellow growers šŸŒž

A week ago, I harvested two Devil plants. The temperatures are already too low, even during the day, so I didn’t think it would be beneficial for the plants to keep them growing any longer.
Two more weeks would have been good for them, but I’m still happy with how they looked at harvest time.
IMG_4968.jpeg
There’s not a trace of mold on any of the flowers, even though it’s rained occasionally in recent weeks with temperatures around 4 to 8°C.

They have nice, dense buds that smell like sweet flowers—it’s a really appealing, delicate scent without any harshness.
IMG_4966.jpeg
About three weeks ago, I had to harvest two branches from one of the plants because they were broken. I roughly stripped the large leaves from these lower branches, crushed the material by hand (it was quite dry), and sifted it through a 200u drysift screen.
I was thrilled with the yield and the stickiness of the resin from plants harvested so early; the hash I processed by hand from this resin smells simply heavenly 🤩, so I decided to dedicate this entire harvest to this traditionally sifted hash, I want to take my time with the entire process of gradual curing—both of the resin itself and the pressed hashish 😊
IMG_4985.jpeg

Overall, I have to say that the Devil strain is really hardy. I barely took care of these plants—they went through some pretty harsh conditions—and there wasn’t a single sign of mold anywhere, even with all those dense buds.
IMG_4967.jpegI’m really happy with this year’s outdoor grow. I’ll keep a few of the top buds to taste, and the rest will go into that traditional hash I mentioned šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Ž
I’ll be in touch soon.
Have a great rest of the week, brothers!! šŸ’šāœŒļø

Hey fellow growers 😊

I really love growing outdoors, but given my climate—where summers are short and autumn rains and humidity set in early—I haven’t had much success. Most of the time, the buds get moldy or the plants don’t have time to fully mature. I’ve even promised myself a few times that I’d give it up, but I end up planting something every year anyway šŸ˜…
Starting this year, my country allows one adult to grow three plants, so my growing plan for this year is as follows:

3x Auto Malawi x NL from ACE Seeds—only two germinated, those are now planted in 12.5L air pots; I used a 50/50 mix of garden soil from a hobby store and Biobizz Light Mix, and added some perlite for aeration; while repotting, I added high-quality mycorrhiza and trichoderma under each plant, and put 3 Guerilla Tabs in each pot
I’ve read a lot of threads about this strain and I’m really curious about it 🧐

3 F1 auto-flowering hybrids—I received these as a gift with my subscription. I have two Hyperion plants and one Milky Way; they’re all identical, just a week older, and will be grown in 11-liter plastic pots.

So I’ll be growing these auto-flowering strains in pots under my supervision on my property 😊
I wanted to grow Devil, but unfortunately there are streetlights near my house, and I think that would negatively affect the plants’ photoperiod.

However, I planted 6 Devils that I’ll be growing guerrilla-style at the spot I tested for the first time last year. It’s a south-facing slope with plenty of direct sun; the only problem with this spot is that the sun doesn’t start shining on it until around 9 a.m., otherwise it’s really great (I’m adding a photo from last year’s grow of the Durban Dew strain—it didn’t ripenšŸ˜…)
By the way, twins sprouted from three seeds—I managed to separate one and now have it in my cloning tent.
The Devils have been in 0.7-liter pots for a few days now, where they were transplanted; I’ll let them root for a few more days and then they’ll go directly into the ground at this spot. I worked manure into this soil a few weeks ago, and I’ll add some potting mix on top when I transplant them.

I have to say that the Devils are really sturdy—they’re short, with closely spaced, thick stems and thick leaves. For how small they are, they smell really nice.
That’s all for now. I’m adding some photos of the plants and the guerrilla growing space for the Devils šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜āœŒļø

Very nice gurilla grow spot. They blend right in and the south exposure is perfect!B.T.W.Real Seed Co. has seed for a variety called "Urdpert-- Freisland".Bred in higher lartitude mountain conditions in Europe-- I think Switzerland.Might finish nicely for you.

@DavidReed Sorry, buddy, I forgot to reply to you 🄲
In my area, I always wait until the very end, as long as the weather allows. I can only time the harvest and observe under a microscope with autoflowering strains šŸ˜…

@PennyP Thank you 😊 I’m enjoying it 😁

@Coney
Thanks for the recommendation, buddy—I’ll check it out.
As I mentioned above, I should be ready with ā€œUltra Early Loveā€ hybrids for next year.
During my research, I also came across some genetics from Denmark—a group of breeders there has been doing excellent work for over 25 years, so I want to look into that as well 😊

You may already know about this -- but there is a mold ,mildew and fungus killer called "Trifecta".The company is located in South Williamsport,Pennsylvania,U.S.A. The stuff KILLS mold and mildew very well. Also a good preventative.Extends your growing season .

Looks very nice Lu-Khan.😊
It is quite remarkable that you these don't show any sign of mould and still look so healthy beeing so late into the season.
Devil has been added to my list, I still want to grow again in my garden.
Do they have a strong odour during veg?

Enjoy those "Devil balls".šŸ˜„
