Lu-Khan loves the sun

Hey fellow growers 😊

I really love growing outdoors, but given my climate—where summers are short and autumn rains and humidity set in early—I haven’t had much success. Most of the time, the buds get moldy or the plants don’t have time to fully mature. I’ve even promised myself a few times that I’d give it up, but I end up planting something every year anyway šŸ˜…
Starting this year, my country allows one adult to grow three plants, so my growing plan for this year is as follows:

3x Auto Malawi x NL from ACE Seeds—only two germinated, those are now planted in 12.5L air pots; I used a 50/50 mix of garden soil from a hobby store and Biobizz Light Mix, and added some perlite for aeration; while repotting, I added high-quality mycorrhiza and trichoderma under each plant, and put 3 Guerilla Tabs in each pot
I’ve read a lot of threads about this strain and I’m really curious about it 🧐

3 F1 auto-flowering hybrids—I received these as a gift with my subscription. I have two Hyperion plants and one Milky Way; they’re all identical, just a week older, and will be grown in 11-liter plastic pots.

So I’ll be growing these auto-flowering strains in pots under my supervision on my property 😊
I wanted to grow Devil, but unfortunately there are streetlights near my house, and I think that would negatively affect the plants’ photoperiod.

However, I planted 6 Devils that I’ll be growing guerrilla-style at the spot I tested for the first time last year. It’s a south-facing slope with plenty of direct sun; the only problem with this spot is that the sun doesn’t start shining on it until around 9 a.m., otherwise it’s really great (I’m adding a photo from last year’s grow of the Durban Dew strain—it didn’t ripenšŸ˜…)
By the way, twins sprouted from three seeds—I managed to separate one and now have it in my cloning tent.
The Devils have been in 0.7-liter pots for a few days now, where they were transplanted; I’ll let them root for a few more days and then they’ll go directly into the ground at this spot. I worked manure into this soil a few weeks ago, and I’ll add some potting mix on top when I transplant them.

I have to say that the Devils are really sturdy—they’re short, with closely spaced, thick stems and thick leaves. For how small they are, they smell really nice.
That’s all for now. I’m adding some photos of the plants and the guerrilla growing space for the Devils šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜āœŒļø

Good luck Lu-khan. :)
The longest day is here in 3 weeks, if those devils are fast responsive you could pull it off.
Curious to see how this goes, I'm roughly in the same area.
Sunlight from 9am is ok, it is the morning dew that is to be feared around here.
Nice start!(y)

Hi, guys 😊
I planted the Devils in the ground over the weekend; it looks like the weather is finally going to be nice over the next few days. šŸ™
I put 3–4 fertilizer tablets next to each plant.
Hopefully, I’ll get to see some ripe outdoor flowers this year šŸ˜‹

Update from under the sun šŸŒž

The "Devils" weathered the initial rains and low temperatures, then faced the exact opposite extreme—extremely high temperatures and drought. I’d say they handled it well; I think they’ve already developed a good root system and have all started growing vigorously.

The autoflowering strains are a real joy to me; ever since this tropical weather set in, they’ve really taken off. They had to deal with a slug infestation—entirely my fault; I was too lazy to go outside and apply slug repellent šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜

I have to say that when it comes to the phenotypic consistency of ā€œF1 autoflowering hybrids,ā€ as they’re called, I’m truly amazed. I have two Hyperion plants, and they’re absolutely indistinguishable—I’ve truly never seen anything like it. These plants behave exactly the same way; that might definitely be useful to some people. However, the prices for these seeds are outrageously high. Personally, I wouldn’t spend that much money on an autoflowering strain, but in this world, it certainly has its value and will find its buyers.

By the way, three ā€œF1 autoā€ strains have already started flowering, and one Malawi auto strain has started flowering too; the other one is taking its time 🤩

It’s been a long time since I’ve had such great weather at the start of the season. All the plants have strong, sturdy bases—let’s hope for more beautiful weather, even if it doesn’t have to be quite so extreme 🄵😬😁

Wishing you all a wonderful week, brothers! āœŒļø

A quick update from the garden šŸ˜Ž

Even though we’ve had a week of cooler temperatures and rain, the autoflowering strains are developing well.

The two taller ones in the white pots are Hyperions; they have Amnesia in their lineage, and I think you can tell—even though their structure has changed, they have the same fresh and pleasant scent.
IMG_4292.jpeg
IMG_4289.jpeg
The smaller one in white is Milky Way; it’s a bit sturdier than the Hyperions, its buds develop a little faster, and its scent is fresh with a hint of cookies.
IMG_4291.jpeg
Auto Malawi—the smaller one switched to flowering around the same time as the F1 auto hybrids; it has an interesting bud structure, and the scent, guys, is amazing—a fresh lemon scent with something else I can’t quite describe, like a lemon-scented cleaner but not too chemical, just incredibly fresh šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø šŸ˜… (This description might get lost in translation 🤣)

As for the larger one, it only started showing flower clusters a few days ago; I think it entered flowering about two weeks later than the rest of the crew, which is why it’s the biggest, and I’m expecting a substantial yield from it 🤩
IMG_4293.jpeg
IMG_4290.jpeg
So, as you can see from the photos, most of the plants are in full bloom; they’re enjoying luxurious conditions. Whenever the weather turns bad, I bring them under cover—sometimes even multiple times a day—and my wife laughs at me, saying I’m crazy šŸ˜šŸ’š

For now, I’m just watering them with plain water, but when they’re ready, I’ve got some ā€œguerrilla juiceā€ lined up for them 😊

Since there have been thunderstorms and heavy rain the last few days, I haven’t been able to check on my Devils, but don’t worry, brothers—I plan to go take a look as soon as possible and share the photos with you; they’re already really robust plants.šŸ’Ŗ

Here are the promised photos of my Devils 😈
You might not believe it, but out of the 6 plants I planted, I have 6 females šŸ˜…šŸ¤©
I have to say I’ve been really lucky with the MNS genetics when it comes to females šŸ€

Five of the plants are almost identical—about 80 cm tall with huge, wide leaves—while one is about half as tall, with leaves that are also large but narrow šŸ˜Ž

I’m always amazed by how the plants look when grown outdoors in open soil under the sun—how massive they are overall in every part—compared to indoor plants. šŸ˜

Hopefully they’ll make it šŸ™šŸ’š

Have a great weekend āœŒļø

Hi fellow growers šŸ˜ŠāœŒļø

Here are a few photos of my autoflowering strains—I think there’s already plenty to see.

I really have to say that it’s been a long time since I’ve had a season go this well—the weather’s been great, and so far I’ve always managed to keep the plants sheltered from the rain.

Overall, these autoflowering strains are doing well; so far, I’ve been watering them with just water, and they seem to have everything they need—though one Automalawi is starting to look a bit lighter in color than the others.

I have some Guerrilla Juice fertilizer in reserve, so we’ll see if I need to use it 😊

Considering how much time they still have and how they look right now, I expect the buds to be massive, and judging by the aroma and abundance of trichomes, I think they’ll be interesting in terms of both effect and taste 🤩
This outdoor season is going perfectly šŸŒžšŸ˜Ž

Enjoy your Friday and the upcoming weekend, brothers! āœŒļø

Nice plants @Lu-Khan. Word is autos are not as potent as regulars. I will be interested in your assessment upon harvest to see if this is true or not.

@musashi
Let me tell you, my friend, I’ve been growing autoflowering strains ever since they first hit the market—in fact, that was my first time growing marijuana back when I was a kid🄹

I see huge progress, especially when it comes to this year’s grow and the use of these ā€œextraordinaryā€ autoflowering strains.

As for potency, I’ve never had a problem with that, but when it comes to taste, I do see an issue. I’ve grown quite a few different strains, but after drying, they mostly all tasted almost the same. The only time I had Sour Diesel, it was truly different—it smelled and tasted exactly how I imagine Sour Diesel should.

I’ve read a lot of opinions saying that Ruderalis spoils the taste; maybe there’s something to that. 🧐

We’ll see if anything changes this yearšŸŒž

I’ll keep you posted 🫔

ruderalis have a low thc level for that automatique are less potency

Maybe you aren't rinsing enough, or your trimming isn't done right, or—regarding the curing process—maybe you're sealing up your buds too soon

on the second picture

Your plants are too close together; they’ll crowd each other out when they start to bloom

in general i try to have 1m50 beetween

Thanks for your response, @quinxstar
I really appreciate your advice and feedback as an outdoor grower. āœŒļø

I’ll focus more on the final stage of flowering and post-harvest care. It’s true that, for some reason, I’ve always viewed outdoor strains as ā€œless important,ā€ and I probably didn’t give them enough attention. I’ll make sure to do better 😊

As for the spacing between plants, that was a big mistake and a lesson learned for next season. To be honest, I was also partly counting on pruning out some male plants šŸ˜…

Hey fellow growers šŸ˜ŠāœŒļø

I went to check on my Devils over the weekend. I found out that my ability to tell them apart matches my experience with regular seeds so far, so out of 6 females, I’m left with 3 šŸ˜…

I don’t usually water the plants—I leave it up to nature, and so far it seems like that’s enough for them. However, during my last visit, I mixed up 20 liters of water with Guerilla Juice fertilizer.

I have a simple plan to space the plants out a bit more—we’ll see how it goes in my next post šŸ˜Ž

Garden Update šŸŒž

It looks absolutely great—all that work protecting the plants from the rain is paying off 🤩

I think we’ll start harvesting within the next 14 days 😊

Have a great week āœŒļø
