MHI

...Thing about most haze dom crosses is the bud does best to cure minimum 6-8 weeks before the pheno can be really appreciated...

I have found that an incredible amount of shrinkage occurs during this time :D
But oh, I pulled out some stuff over Christmas dated 11/15. Sublime, truly.

Aloha brah

Looking really nice, always been interested in this one! Some amazing phenos to be found I am sure.. Would be great to out cross to some unrelated sativa.
Nice one!

Time to start chopping. MH7 is going first. Obviously one of the faster, she yielded well and has thick flowers. Minimal trimming required which is quite impressive. Smell is to the overripe fruit side but subtle (nl?). So overall plan is to harvest over the next couple of weeks based on pheno, then cure each pheno in 2 month jars to decide which mothers to select. It can often take 2 months for the unique haze dom flavors, smells, highs to emerge.

yeah no kidding deran. 2 months usually = jar killed! Many times I have not been able to wait and likely only a few choice nuggets actually make the full 2 month cure. But it can make a huge difference on these haze crosses. My NSK keeper smells subdued at harvest and in the jar, then around week 6 suddenly it takes on a very distinct lime/haze smell, and from there on seems to get stronger on the flavor.

a few drying buds on MH7

yeah man, you are right ..

nothing without curing, and its an individual thing the time needed, some specimens wont get better after 2 weeks, while others become better after 2 months

on a side note, i had the original haze from TFD, what i found out in regards to curing, is that the fresher non-long cured buds were stronger in effect, than taken from the jar a half year later (at ideal temps , about 16-18C) , i tried even a year old cured bud and the power / strength of the high was totally missing

im aware that this is especially with hazes not the norm, but the exception

take care

Haze like but with very glossy nl type leaves. Burnt rubber with hints of fuel and overripe fruit. Top bud broke over at end but like other mhi a tall plant that like top bud formation.

Similar to #7, large yielder but a bit more hazy, required more trimming. haze, hash, tropical smell.

The mangos coming in after 12 wks are the goody ones. I thougt the mhi came in earlier? 13 wks on the reg seems to be the sweet spot. Regardless you have some primo bud that's gonna go down real smooth brah 👍

hey musashi

Not that early in this setting. From clone probably 10-12 week on many but have 1-2 that will go 14-15 weeks easy from seed. MHI does seem different from many hazes with large top cola formation but timing is still haze side. Will see on the highs but a few samples from 7 are very nice, uplifting but with a spacy/meditative side. strong though and likely with good cure will be top notch.

100 days

and 44 nights.........

So decided it was time to chop the remaining three @100/101 days to free up space. Discovered I had used 7 twice in labeling (nice job homer) which seemed like an easy fix but cuttings also affected. So it goes and no worries. These late bloomer favored haze though 4 (mislabeled as 7 though not sure which "7" cut is 4, etc)-- had a african spear shape from day one. Heavy burnt orange rust hairs. Smells like my la nina cut, fuelly with haze undertones, slightly sinister kick your ass sativa vibe.

Right on, SA, that's da kine brah! She is looking so tasty and juicy, that fuelly nostril-expanding smoke is simply OM inspiring. Stellar grow and happy for you. Aloha M

So will definitely get some smoke reports up in 6-8 weeks depending on cut. I can say #7 sends me way out into space, as well as the past, time travel I guess. #3 is only 1 week cured but sampled and haze the church taste/smell. These last three all seem to the sativa side.

MHI is a very solid selection if you like sativas and have the space

in the jar and waiting

All plants have been harvested, trimmed, dried and are now jar curing. A general haze smell to most phenos and the highs have been strong even for early testing. A meditative cerebral high that can make on think about the past, or the future! cerebral for sure. Smoke some mixed lower buds from several phenos yesterday and had a strong, almost instant reaction. It was the classic thc headrush that consisted of metallic ring/taste/swirl (think lsd peak) inside my head. I grabbed some wall posts and rode it for 30 seconds. wow. After that went out skiing for the afternoon and had a great time outside enjoying nature, life and the family.

Hey everybody

Well started to do some sampling of the MHI as curing now for 6-8weeks+-. First let me say MHI should not be confused with MH. The reason I mention this is b/c I actually detect very little mango in these phenos. Rather the haze smell (which is very obvious in many phenos) is more to the leathery, caramel, earthy side. Thick, you can almost chew this smoke. Tends to be a bit harsh on exhale, can cause hacking cough (probably needs a bit more cure). Exhale lingers with church smell to various degrees depending on pheno. Highs vary but cerebral, some quite introspective, no freak outs yet! Yields are decent but once these buds dry it would take a garbage bag to make a lb! Except for #7 which is a good yielder. Overall a strain to run when looking for different haze profiles. Not sure how many of these I will re-run due to space/size/yield but for sativa dominant haze like strain a winner for sure.

SA, thanks for the detailed grow + smoke reports. That #7 looks like a mighty fine specimen, nice job! What were you looking for in trichome ripeness when deciding when to pick them?
I've got some MHI from an auction win on the way, and right now I'm leaning towards doing a run of these for the summer (vs Chem'sSis x Neville's or old stock Rez's SSSDH, tough choice!). How many watts did you run these under and how much head room did you have to work with?
