Mango Haze vs Mango Haze Inbred Gen

I have been reading as much as I can about the MHIG that is available at auction. The MH alone looks and sounds like a special one. I grew out a pack of Shantis SSH a few years back and a couple of them stayed in the garden for years. One of the phenos was a tall and lanky that took like 12 weeks but really filled in nicely and was beautiful smoke. I took a long break and have the itch to get going now.:) I have been just lurking for the last couple weeks reading and deciding..With all the amazing choices Shanti gives you, it's tough to decide! Especially for a stoner. I was going to go with the MH but now I see this inbred collection and its intriguing.I read a thread that is since closed about it but was wondering if anyone can explain what the differences in the two are and which you would go with and why. With the inbred it looks like Shanti was trying to work on quicker flower times. That would definitely be a plus for me. I don't mind waiting for a great haze but I remember a SSH pheno that wore me out. I think she celebrated Xmas, easter and memorial day lol.
thanks for any help.

Hi arpege :)
Great question, I believe Mango Haze to be a most interesting variety on a number of levels. Below is some information from Shanti to help get you started in the right direction.

Mango Haze Inbred Generation
Inbred generation using female MH select to Male F1 selected seed made by Shantibaba personally.
Tall haze plant expected with good yields.
Unreleased prevoiusly in this version

Thanks Jesse. I had read that earlier. I really want to give the inbred a shot.

You're right... There's not much info... I might have to get some just for the future...

I wonder how much longer these will be made available?

Didnt a couple members grow this out? I thought I read about someone popping like 50 of em. I would really love to know how it turned out and details on what differences seen from the normal MH.

what happened to the mango haze inbred? did she get beat out by the f1's and discontinued or what? I haven't seen it at the auction in a while.

mh inbred line

Well damn, I just got a pack of MH. Now I want to know, is the inbred generation better?

My seedlings look crazy, in a good way. Leaves are so thin, kind of like a tomato seedling. They look completely different from any strain I've ever grown.

I wonder why Shanti didn't finish this project? Maybe the F1 turned out to be nothing exceptional? Lots of questions now..
its well beyond f1 my friend...his reasons for not finishing..not sure ....but dealing with mostly sativas and trying to get it down in a timelier fashion is a lot of work to put it mildly....breeding with hazes is the trickiest thing i would take on....theres a guy in cali that is super gifted...grows by feel and he has some mns mh f2 that have produced some unreal quality flowers....also it has the braided look,hash-incensce taste....unreal....but a lot of people dont have the patience to do them as well.....

Three Inbreds. Two out of five were a little iffy but I tried to get them to sprout..

Mango Haze at the Auction

I won a pack of Mango Haze and I'm looking forward to growing them out this fall indoors. I've grown SSH, and NH and I have some home made crosses so I thought that the true Mango Haze would be what I need to grow next. I may run one SSH and one NH cross to smoke something a little different. Start with a few phenos.

Hey Shovel thanks for the input. What crosses did you make? Did you find a killer haze male? I grew SSH for a few years and loved it. I have heard nothing but rave reviews when it comes to the Mango sister. I am interested to see if any of you MH growers out there will recognize any differences between the two as this thread progresses. Its only three but hey its a start.

Shov Haze Crosses

Hi arpege.
I have some few seeds; :)
(SSH x Blueberry) x NH 2010
(SSH x Blueberry) x NH 2011
SSH x NH 2011
[(SSH x BB) x NH] x NH 2011
SSH f2 2009
SSH f2 2011
(G-13 x Nor Cal Daddy's Girl) x NH 2011
Z-11 x NH 2010
Z-11 sativa x NH 2010
The Neville's Haze males were from MNS, the Super Silver Haze were from a european seed store, unknown breeder. The Blueberry is Dutch Passion. I wouldn't say the NH were super males, just good healthy males I picked from a small number of plants. I'm not a breeder and I don't have selection knowledge. Just flingin' some pollen to see what happens.
My project strain of bubblegum and aghani is called Z-11. Usually a fat leaf, big cona indica but a single freak skinny leaf sativa female happened to appear, not a seed mistake I'm sure. All of these were good stash however I do not have smoke reports or notes. I do have grow information and grow logs on a couple of websites.

Has anyone noticed that SSH and NH seeds are often petite? I have some crosses where there are two seed sizes, petite and normal. I'm going to note how they grow out whether the seed size will determine a particular phenotype.

Which strain is most likely to produce hashy-incense phenos out of NH, MH or SSH?

I have found plants in SSH that smoke like fine hash, and I hear NH also produces plants that smell and smoke like hash.

Peace
