Grail: The Ultimate Haze Hybrid

hemp for fiber is bred to produce very little bud

seed hemp produces significant quantities of cannabinoids.

thats achieved by dense cultivation, even then the upper part will produce a top cola ranging from 60cm to 1 meter (depending on overall hight)

true the bud to to stalk ratio isnt too delightful, but consindering the overall perfomance, it still is a significant amount of bud

and while some may bash that its the grail thread :P don forget why those rope strains must be soved each year new by law, bc of the fact that they will return to their natural (higher) thc values, in the 3rd, 4th genaration of outcrossing rope turns into psychoactive ganja

cannabis is a designer plant, any trait can be bred/built in, at different stages - so any approach is valid, starting with high thc values and afterwards breeding yield is as valid as starting with big yield and afterwards breeding thc into the project

who knows the "burning bush" could have been ditchweed

I swear I have been to St. Catherines. If I had NH, I think mosses would of had some competetion...

If it was ditchweed, it would of been ditchhz cause I dont know anyone crazy enough to think they just met the most high after blazing the bush, and start writing a book about it.

Naaaaaaaaaaa way anyone would be crazy enough to be inspired and write a book while high...

Hahaha

Sorry deran, back on track again.

Hi everybody, thanks.

In the Chinese hemp video at 2:04 you can see a more loosely grown plants almost as tall as the building behind.

I am not sure if this is true but says that this dark foliage strain grown in Oz :D can grow up to 3 meters in 70 days.

Chinese Hemp Trial Update

If you cross ganja and hemp I think that the F1 hybrid wouldn't be very good :D

What happens when you cross hemp and marijuana?

Industrial hemp is breed for extremely low THC and high CBD which ruins the quality of the high.

Fibre hemp cultivars: A survey of origin, ancestry, availability and brief agronomic characteristics

So it will be necessary to make many backcrosses to get a desirable pure sativa cannabinoid and terpene profile with a no ceiling high and very low tolerance.

It could be useful if we want a feature found in hemp (and not found in any available psychoactive strain), as a faster flowering/early ripening, higher production as in seeds strains, great columnar cola or any other growth pattern, pest, disease or mould resistance or the ability to grow in cold climates.

Hemp is grown in large fields in Canada, Russia, France or Britain, so there are strains developed able to grow easy without much care in such places.

I remember an ICMAG thread about growing outdoors in Scotland.

Many Russian, Ukrainian and French strains are monoecious, so I think that strains are not very good for crossing purposes. Or at least they need to get out that feature before using them in a breeding program.

Many features as fast flowering or high yielding involves many genes so its inheritance is not as easy as in the dominance-recessive model from Mendel's genetics. It is more closely to an intermediate inheritance (such as the quality of the high). It could be necessary between each backcrossing cycle to grow a large number of plants to choose only the ones with the exactly feature we want.

All in all I would prefer to grow mind blowing tropical pure strains, such those lost huge Queensland Thais. I think that the most important thing to do is to preserve what we have.

I hope not to be boring :o

Best regards

One more then Mr. Deran...

I think it looks like one of Bushys plants...

Notice the thin leaves...

yep thats true, far off from this project

but the point is, f1s are smokable in terms of psychoactivity, not the best highs, but here and there you can find something really good, as anything with more than 3% thc will make you high, all you need is 10% thc male ... and thats easy since the 90s, any skunk will be excellent for this purpose

if id go for narrowing the cannabionoid profile along with terpens, i wouldnt start with such an time consuming way, many ways lead to success, some are short (when you know the goal) , but in that case it would be a long evasion

Hi

I agree with you Deran. Making F1 with good weed and hemp could be an easy way to get smokable buds.

I said before cannabinoid profile and terpenes, but actually I was talking about the quality of the high. I prefer extremely sativa clean high and I think that crossing a good sativa with any other thing ruins the high forever. At least the type of high that I love.

About making backcrosses between ganja and hemp it could be useful for growing in not very good cliamtes and with a short growing season. There are strains developed for such conditions such as ruderalis hybrids. But I think they have not a extreme sativa high and they aren't good yielders because they are very small.

I think that preservation of really good pure sativas is more interesting, but if someone is bored and has nothing better to do, he can try :D

Greetings.

yes and no, ive seen the results of feral hemp and clones, the seeds produce some decent offspring.

and now for something completely different:

i solved the mystery why nevil isnt anymore posting in this thread ...

holy grail has already been made in spain, read something about a harlequin X destroyer cross .. and guess what, its called :

the grail

what now ???

GotanyHaze?

I trust all is well with you, my Friends. Sometime in the future maybe we can discuss who made the Grail, what it is, and where it came from, when it was created, and last but not least, why we cant discuss it in on a public forum.

Take care All,
DP

GDay Doc, glad to see youre doing ok amigo. Good luck and stay safe mate . God only knows what goodies youve cooked up in your magic pollen bag . :D

good to see you around dr p.
i'm definately interested in hearing what the grail is made up of.

i just threw some seeds in water today.

4 purple wrecks and 5 blueberrys from my recent trip to amsterdam,
and ...
:) :) :) :) :)
6 Hawaiian Haze
7 35 x K04

going to be a lot of fun,
but im already having fun with one of the nevils hazes i found so far.

How are you going to discuss something publicly that can't be discussed on a public forum?

howdy , you dont know me but your work on here is very professional thanks for hard work and risk you guys due as long as them didnt destroy you or your master pieces .peace t

Well I think Nevil is calling this one "Grail" not "The Grail" and there is little doubt that if Nevils Grail is released it will be one of the most popular Sativa dominant strains for a long long time.

I just hope someday we get a look into the genetics that put the puzzle together. MM x Oaxaca, Nev Haze x African, Thai x MM, as I really don't see us getting a crack at Kangas pure MM, or Oaxacan.

I am pretty sure Nevil still peeks in from time to time. :D

just think about the confusion between the names white widow and black widow, bob you are informed and know the story and backgrounds of the same cross with 2 different names

does the customer (whos not informed) care if its grail or the grail ?

also dont forget, online community is just a tiny part of the whole grow scene

from my point of view, the name is already on the street and therefore history, not nevils try, but a part of it, and by judging his post... its the most important part of the project

lessons learned nevil ?

hic rhodos - hic salta
