Hi mate....At the moment its hard to say, I would probably put the Nordle up there as a lay out stone for me, But I really only take about 3-4 tokes on a joint and leave it at that to judge, I am sure if I did the whole joint I might be on my back..lol
I still have a lot to test including Herijuana from Sannie and Jims stuff, I also have a NL#5 x Affie that a couple of people have said is a killer, but I havent tried.
Ask me in a few months time and I might have a better idea.
I must say that the Mazars seem to have the longest stone and I think that is why I favour them a bit.
I have also just done a Lemon Skunk x Mazar and one pheno from the 2 that I have tried is pretty good, not so much in the knockout department, but more in the quality of the high that you get and that Lemon taste, I also got a smile on my face after the first couple of tokes and it wouldnt go away.....I like that sort of stuff. My wife has put that down as her favourite now because it doesnt go on for as long as the MM and she can sleep on it

Hi Kanga m8 thanks for the taste, that Lemon Skunk x Mazar is definitely pretty good. it captures the long-lasting high of the Mazar with as you say the lemon taste of the Lemon Skunk. Those buds were heavily seeded, but the clear high came through. Really indistinguishable from a fruity sat experience. But a very balanced head/body high.

Pretty nice to look at too, with the pale pink hairs.

Cheers mate, I am glad you liked it...sorry about the seed, I think it came from a hermie or it was a little pollen that flew around when I seeded them.
Still I wouldnt trust it if it was me.
This rain is pretty nice.....we have been getting a nice drizzle all day, next days of sunshine and I reckon another 2ft

Do you perhaps remember how long your Afropips Malawi Gold flowered for last summer? I just recently harvested one indoors that I allowed to flower for 100-110 days. Can't be quite exact of date. Smoked fresh, I wasn't impressed greatly with it, although the more I smoke the higher I get, but it took a gram to really feel it. I remember you not really giving it much praise before.

Do you have anything else of Afropips going or curing? I have some Swazi Red that are now flowering, along with another MG clone. Next up will be his Senegal Haze. From the few reports Ive ever seen, his Senegal Haze seems to be the best.

Back to curing for a moment, do you care to say what you consider the minimum curing time before feeling comfortable in accurately judging its worth?

To be honest last year was not a good year here because of the rain and I had to harvest a bit of stuff early because of it.
i also think the MG was not up to the standard it could have been. So I have put all the Africans apart from Kariba away and I will do them over winter when it is drier.
I would say with curing anywhere between 3-6 months should be a good cure. You could put bits away and test over a period of time by taking samples out every month until u find when is the best.

Its a shame Ill have to wait till winter to see some more Africans, but at least I can enjoy them here. Thanks for the info on the curing. It'll be tough to let bud sit for 6 months. I better make sure to increase my yield If I have to wait that long, but Ive become more patient as I age.

I have nordle and ASH have not cracked the nordle yet but the ASH is in veg looking very healthy ... I am chasing a heavy couchlock for at night for insomnia ... but prefer sativa during day like you

I thought the ASH would be a heavy indica from the double up of afghani but now I am thinking of cracking nordle and have ortega in mind too.

The Mazar you are using in the cross is it heavy couchlock is it ?

Sounds like a good cross mate. I remember heaps of heavy couchlock strains around 98, they were nocking me for six... have not had a good indica nock down for a good 7 years now (unless I make butter )...

I have most of DPs stock (yes I am ashamed) and there is a mazar strain and I think a lemon skunk from memory ... would they be anywhat similar strains ? or are you using the mazar that you have had for years ...

My ASH has a very balanced body/mind high. Friend said he had to double up smoking to get himself to bed when smoking ASH instead of commercial market indica. I think I only popped between 4 and 6 ASH seeds so far, there are probably more couchlook heavy phenos in there, but you have to look for it.

I recommend cracking some nordle if you are really on the search for a "downer".

I think I only popped between 4 and 6 ASH seeds so far, there are probably more couchlook heavy phenos in there, but you have to look for it.

I recommend cracking some nordle if you are really on the search for a "downer".

i keep seeing ppl mention Nordle as a sleep aid of sorts , i found it wasnt , it might of helped me sleep but it no where near put me there , it wasnt couch lock , it was a good mix high/stone

I have a critical widow pheno here that PUTS me to sleep every time. And I mean every time. Dangerous!

Jeez once it was hard to find good sativa, now it is hard too find couchlock indica..... perth was flooded with couchlock about 10 years back .... infact I always complained the weed just put me straight to sleep ... sometimes for hrs regardless of the time of day ... awesome must of been cuts from the old NL or something.

Some strains I have for the search are ..ASH,nordle,devil,blueberri,master kush,mazar,Black Dom ... I dont want to use Fem seeds either

Critical Widow I dont have but may look at it .. I thought It would be similar to white russian smoke

I was going to get afghani from SS but bad things have been said about it.

Any more ideas on true nock out indicas ?

Butter sends me to sleep after a few hrs if its strong... regardless of strain

Hi mate.....I grew the Ortega and Ash last year, but it was to wet and it never really gave me a good indication on how strong it could be....I would go the Ortega out of the 2 on what I had.

I used the Mazar males, but the Mazar female that I ended up with was more a Sativa type stone, but still got your body I have not come across one person that does not like it. This mazar was gifted to me and I am told it is from Shanti's personal stock, which doesnt surprise me as it is a quality strain. The LSK was given to me by Arron from DNA.
When I saw how the females of the Mazar and LSK looked I just had a feeling they would make a very good cross. The funny thing is I never got to smoke the LSK, but Nev and a friend did and gave back a good report.
My wife and I smoked it and she went outside to do some gardening and was back in within 20 min and on the bed asleep I just sat down and stared at the comp, I think..lol

Hi Bob.....The Nordle both effected my wife and I differently, it made her want to party and me just sit down, so that is why I thought the Nordle was the stronger Indica.
I had the same prob with Critical Mass last year with the rain and lost the lot

Hi Billy....I dont think I have Critical Widow, But I did find the BW to be a very uplifting stone. That is why when I got the WW in the 90's I used my males over it.....Anyway today is back to Sativa's as that is enough of Indica's and the rain has gone and there is work to do, perfect for the Sats

well kanga, I wouldn't recommend that pheno to anyone who doesnt have sleep probs... It's a bit of a trouble causer..... 12 hrs kip no probs..... There's also a lovely well balanced pheno thats just STRONG......hehee....
