Its great to see you back again Kanga with updates. We've missed you around here.
Do you care to go a bit more into depth about testing your males? Do you sample upper leaves while their flowering or sample during veg? Thanks.
I think something thats often overlooked by growers in cooler climates ,
is that equatorial erbs grown in the local mature when the days are hot ,
its not like the waning days that one would harvest in cooler climates,
the temps are still in the 30s , and the resins are just pumping ,,
without this sort of finish , one couldnt expect the same results ...
Another thing to consider ,
the longer flowering varieties are the ones that seem to produce that "special sativa high" that we desire ,
those types can never be grown to fruition indoors or too far from their climate,
to acclimatise them to your cooler climate will require selection of earlier maturing types ,
selecting away from the high we are looking for in exhange ealier maturation .. you cant have your cake and eat it too ...
I second that. except i work for buds.
Horse manure my favorite dung.
I can imagine how very tasty and potent buds you grow from that, o how i miss living in the countryside putting seedlings in the ground.
I love watching your christmas-trees, thats what life is supposed to be like you are living the dream my friend.
Peace
Hi Donald Mallard, interesting topic and I agree, but would add you can get surprisingly close outdoors in cool climates, esp with last month in greenhouse or if using darkening system.
The buds wont be as potent, certainly not as big, but it does retain the special sativa effect.
Ive grown a few sativas here in England and although much smaller than kanga's I can get the ones like African seeds strains to decent maturity.
This year I grew some Zambian Copper the same strain kanga has in the garden and I find it more potent than strains acclimatised to my conditions.
(Any more pics of the Zam Btw Kanga)
Also with these type of landrace, the leaves get you high, even the ones with no visible trichs, now I know why African farmers do little manicuring.
I harvest them mid to late november, my point is I enjoy them even more than acclimatised strains.
I dont think it is as good as growing in a hot climate, but its damn impressive what she can do up here.
I would add that some strains are pretty impossible for me though namely certain Thais And Lumbos... But Neps and Africans are V. goood and excellent vigour. The Africans do have it up on the Neps for potency though.
Hey Kanga what MNS strains are holding up the best in our weather ? More luck with some than others ?
hey, K, could you cut down that sequoia, i cant see the ganja plant![]()
