I think that I have fungus gnats, and this doesn't seem to be doing much...

if you have fungus gnats you can erradicate them by using yellow sticky traps to catch the flying adults and put a layer of pure (horticultural grade) sand on the top of the soil, to control the young ones that are inside the soil.

Thanks L, I got some stickies in the flower room, how much sand (how thisk)? 1/4 -1/2 inch?? Am I still gonna have to bomb, or the sand will cut the life cycle??

Hey barletta,

Youre welcome mate.

I m using 1 inch layer but I m sure with 1/2 it would do the work. Also make sure to let the soil dry very well now between waterings.
Am I still gonna have to bomb, or the sand will cut the life cycle??
Well if its fungus gnats then the sand will cut the life cycle and they cant reproduce further , so there is no next generation with adults , and they are eradicated completely. For the young ones in the soil you can use D.Earth but if the infestation is small then the sand only will suffice.

Yo thanks L. I hope the spiders aren't pissed.......lol

I was planning on a tear-down/clean-up in the fall. If I can get the lil buggers, No sleep 'til Brooklyn.....

Stupid easy cloner

I just wanted to post AWESOME results with the cloning method suggested to me by nut (and he got it from drbudgreenjeans I think). Just a 4qt rubbermaid with 3-4:1 perlite:vermic. No dome, no nothing. Mist every 2-3 days.

7 of 8 shit (2 cuts) clones rooted in 10 days. The 1 that didn't 'root' is bursting and hardening at the bottom of the stem, and I transplanted with the full expectation that it takes. 3 for 3 ssh clones alive but not rooted @ 1 wk.

FUNNIEST SOUTH PARK EVER. Jennifer Lopez. Taco, taco, burrito, butrrito. Taco Flavored Kisses. Younger, spicier.

WHOA. I'm beat. I left ~9:00 to drive to the parking spot NEAR barletta farms, and guess who is there? My ONLY shady neighbor. He is chillin in his H3 on the cell phone... But he is either a sheriff or security (more likely), cause I caught him in the bluepants a few times..... Had to dip. Figgured I'd walk....

Here is how I left. 2 gallons of PBP/molasses/b-1red, 6 gallons of molasses/pbp concentrate, bag of guano/greensand/rock phosphate, scissors, knife, blunt. Not pictured - dog. Left @ 11:00am

11:30am - Aurora around the corna... Looks good, JUST starting to show/flower. These were seedplants (2) that I had to put out in a hurry (no scout time). They get decent sun right now, but I think in Sept, they may not have much full sun. They are big, but I am expecting smallish buds cause of the shade. Hit em with the 2 gallons and a handful of topdress. Didn't realize they are in a 'basin' that stays nice and moist. I might be surprised with these plants....
aurora8-9.JPG

12:15 - Sexyrunt Spice x ssh seedplant. not flowering, pre-flowers here and there. (3) 3' arms, ~5/6' main. I hope she finishes, the cuts are ~40 and 30 dys inside, and have a WAY to go. Looks like 10/11 wk cut inside, so NOV.1??? Anyway, she is healthy and happy. Hit her with a handful and 2 gallons of pbp (pbpbloomsoil 1.5-4-5) and molasses.

Here is the main. I snapped it for the last time today.

When I took that pic of the superspice, I decided it would be best to separate the memory card from the cam, I was on ffedderrall land, soooo... But I changed the cam from 7mp to 3mp cause @ 7, I can only fit 3 or 4 on the cam memory. But I forgot to change it back ALL DAY. The upclose shots and some of the other pix suffered a lil. What are you gonna do....

After the SuperSpice, I filled up the gallons, and headed 1/2 mile to the Early Spice. 1/2 mile uphill in the woods with 20lb pack....

Early Spice - Flowering ~4wks, should finish early-mid sept. Has gotten to the "stiff stem" flowering phase, so less than 4 wks to go.....

Those were the Spices that I was forcing on my deck in coco. They may have some fat fuggin buds. They got the 2 weak gallons that I brought, and I went down and up to refill. Also got to mix a nice hot piss into the second 2 gallons.

Here is the water source, ~100' down vertically (STEEP)

^^barletta CHUGGS from this stream^^

After I got up the 2nd time, I heard this LOUD bird of prey. I'm not an expert, but big, bad ass birds have always fascinated me. I am very familiar with red-tail hawks, perigrine falcons, chicken hawks, and I saw my first bald eagle in the wild a few months ago. This MAY have been a Perigrine, but it was big. I'm kinda new here, so I have to look to see what is around. He was chillin, callin, not too frantic... Then he took off, circled 1 time, and bounced. I was up on a clearing on a wooded hill, so once I lost sight of him, he was gone. This is the main reason that I am PISSED for switching the size of my pics. I know this cam would have gotten a shot that I could have ID'd the bird. I will try from memory....

I was really considering smoking my blunt at this point. I came ~3miles down hill to the superspice, then I was up and down the hill a few times with water, fukkin around in the woods for ~ an hour... I figgured that if I blazed, by the time I got to the road, I'd say fuck it, and not continue on th barletta FARMS.

Farms is ~2-3mi relatively flat ground from the superspice (lil downhill from the Early Spice). I was also done carrying around the water... Farms looks good.......
LOL, this is to wet your appetite for the next post. Looks like a noveg Spice...

Whoa, where to begin?? This is my first solo summer. Last summer I helped (grunt work, nothing fun like scouting, mixing compost/nutes, etc..) with ~ 5lb. I saw another 5 out there. I came into the summer with 2 main goals:
1. Learn. Bust ass, and learn the lessons
2. Get outta debt. I gotta have 5-6lb of primo to do that.

I assumed a 50% loss to be safe, and I figgure that I put out 15-20. I still have to harvest, but I may meet #2, pay bills for 2 months, have 1 to sit on for a few months, and 1 to burn. Cool.

Farms is 4 miles from my house without all of those stops in the woods... I figgure that I walked ~6mi by the time I left farms..

You can see em in the order that I seen em.

bigshit8-9.JPG

The pic above is a BIG SHIT. She looks to be ~2wks into flower, and she is aFAST cut, so... 4-5 arms ~5' tall, and 2-3 over 6'. Sweet sun, 3' above the waterline for a lil spring... Virtually perfect spot.. The 1 below is nearby, but gets shade ~4pm I figgure. Also a few feet further and up from the water. I'm thinking 2 lb between them, min. The lil 1 is 3-4 arms~4' tall, and a lil obvious. If I lose 1, that's the 1...

Bud from the big plant
shitbud8-9.JPG

Here is the plant that I am calling Mango Widow. The spot got full sun earlier, but is losing a few hrs in the afternoon to the southern skyline. Even with the 'shorter' days, she isn't flowering yet. She is big, if I can finish her properly, 1/2 to 1 lb. HIDDEN. Mid-late October??
MW8-9.JPG

These plants are at the 'entrance' to Farms. There is nothing commercial looking about them, besides size. No irrigation, no fences/traps/etc... I am confident that if found, they would get pulled, and that's that. The patches would be safe. Patches???

Yeah, patches...

My 1/2 and 1/2 spots (last yr) were ~ the same size, but had nowhere near the sun of these. These are prolly 8' diameter, rough circles. I dunno how many times my buddy went out to water last year, but Farms needs no water... If I get 10 straight dry days between now and harvest, I'll go to throw 5-10 gallons on each plot, but if it rains at all, I'm cool. I really lucked out with this spot..

I should have mentioned that the pics in the last 2 pics are taken from 7-8' in the air. I'm a long 6'2", and had the cam way over my head... Same thing for this Spice. She is the same age as the 2 'early' spices on the hill.
spiceoverhead.JPG

Missin my megapixels here. Gonna be yum-yum time in a few months.
farmsspice8-9.JPG

The biggest plant out there is the SuperShit. She was ~10 days in flower when she went out, and she got BIG. ~6'8" before I cropped her (AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE FUKKIN CROPPED HER) now a measely 5'.
But I don't think this is it... I think this is 1 of the Aurora B's...
farms8-9a.JPG

They all look good. I threw out a bunch of topdress @ farms. I had dropped it off in the car this morning. Did A LOT of lower trimming, and could have done A LOT more...
I'm thinkin bout a return to the hill in ~a week, and farms in 2 wks. I'll alternate wks from here out. That is just too much to do in 1 day. It's ~10 miles, but a bit is sloshing through brush, and the last 3 miles is uphill, with 4 STEEP shots. Today was no joke physically. I left the house @ 11am, got to farms ~2:30/3:00, got home 5:00/5:30. It's 2 separate trips. Farms by itself is not so bad @ ~8.5 miles round trip. But ADD in 'the hill', and it's a bitch. The Aroura is literally 'around the corner (and down hill in the woods, but CLOSE).

:)

Couple of shots from along the way..

Why I don't use the SWEET F3d3ral prpoerty....
fedds.JPG

Could be kids partying, could be Fuggin PARK POLICE with semi-automatic pistol grip shotguns and shit.... 9/11 kinda worked out for f3d LEO, NO??? Follow the money..... ANYWAY, I walk through, and eyeball it, but can't use it...

Got RKS??
RKS.JPG

I saw 2 today, but by the time I was coming back from farms, they cleaned the 1 up. LOVE THAT SMELL!! LOL, I smoked the blunt in the woods @ farms, left, realized that I lost the dog leash, and was scrambling, re-tracing my steps... Whole place smelled like BLUNT, lol. It's nice being a non-smoker!! I can smell shit, and walk far places....

The bud I rolled for the day....(Shit, 3wks inside, 2wks outside.) Got me fukked up enough to lose the leash in the THICK bush...

The last stop before the 'uphill push fer home'... I could have slept there...

Man thatis some nice property you have access to. The plants are looking good.

How come you haul water in there in jugs? The PBP? Just bring some PBP with you and mix it there...save carrying it in.

The hawk is probabaly a rough legged hawk. I can't tell. Perrigrine wouldn't be living out there. They have become acclimated to either cities where there are good high roosting spots AND endless pigeons to eat. In the wild they prefer high cliffs. mountains etc.

I love birds of prey. I gotta tell ya about bald eagles. They are all over the place here. I see them nearly every day. In winter we have even more. Bald Eagles will hunt but they prefer to steal other birds(mostly ospreys around here) food and they scavenge a lot . In the winter they eat dead deer which get hit by cars a LOT around here. Coyotes and bears will "open" the carcass and the eagels, ravens and magpies finish it off. I watched 3 bald eagles(one immature one) fighting over a deer carcass last winter. It was very cool watching them hopping up and down, flapping wings, on top of the dead deer fighting.

I carried the juggs for the aurora. There isn't sufficient water flow to reliably collect it there, but the ground stays damp. She is ~10min out, and downhill. I even take the oldest dogs to visit them. I'll go there this week, and get some shots. If I could drop a few trees, fields o fukkin green... Problem is, they are building EVERYWHERE here, so to be safe, ya have to be in deep. Dude who turned me on lost a 5lb spot to new home construction a few yrs back. He did A LOT of the work for me. He lost spots due to:
Flood
LIGHTNING hit a 8' tall bagseed that he said was gonna finish..
Construction
Drought
FORGOT WHERE IT WAS.....
Mold
Deer/slugs/early season bugs

I just gotta use what I know, and have heard, and minimize the loss. I'm sure that I'll lose a bunch. I've lost yield ALREADY. Deer and slugs have prolly cost me 3-5, and poor placement (sun exposure) will end up costing me 3-5. I feel pretty good about security. I just wonder if farms has everbeen used for growing before. That, and an East Coast hurricane/t.storm dumping 6-7" of water in 2-3 days might flood Farms. I think that it drains pretty well, but it is down ~600' in elevation from me, and there are other good sized hills around...

I was too tired yesterday to look for the bird, and looking with the proxy on is like running in dutch schoos....

they are getting big now barletta they have over taken a lot of outdoor plants here and they have been out since April/may! good shit keep it up, fingers crossed for you that you dont lose any.

Hey nut, thanks for the positive vibes. I think that I'm OK. I dunno if you've been to the states, but we got land, and the prevailing attitude is stay off my land... People usually don't go pokin around private/corporate property. There are lots of parks, etc.... Farms is a hike, and a quick dip into the marshy backside of a some sort of resort. I'm sure that they can't build cause of the flood potential. No hunters due to the proximity of people, and THICK brush makes it not worth going into unless you know something is 'in there'. Even still, it would be kinda tough to find..

The economy is really in the shitter here. The town that I lived in just pulled ~20% of the cars from patrol, and put em on bicycles, cause they can't afford the gas. Funny, F3D money to buy the cars, no money to put gas in em... They aren't out 'looking' for plants so much. Prolly only fly over tipped areas, and previous grow locations. They could deffo buzz farms, no TALL trees or wires... Plus, they are looking for black people and speeders. Sad but true. That's public safety at its finest...

Honestly, I make a conscious thanks AT LEAST 1 time per month that I was born white in this country. SERIOUS double standard, and it is ingrained into every level of society. WORSE in other places of the country.

WE ALL BLEED FUKKIN RED, FOLKS. My pops was a racist, till he took shrapnel in Nam, and a 'brother carried him out of a village before it got napalmed. Got a lil leave @ home to recover, and his father (VERY well to-do white WW2 vet) said something to the effect of ' took bad it was a nigger that pulled you out...'. My father is one of the LEAST physically violent people that I've ever met, and really can't imagine him ever 'losing it' on someone's face, but that's what g'ma shirley said happened. Straight across the dinner table (14' 150 yr old family heirloom..) To my knowledge, that word never got thrown around near my dad again...

Anyway, black people are targets in most places in the states that are worth going to. Yes white people are targets in black neighborhoods, but the racist policies that perpetuate the poverty in those places are created and 'maintained' on an insidious, institutional level (mostly by white people).

I love basketball, and black women.

There has been an influx of 'Citiots' (rhymes with idiots) here, and the white people are so scared of gangs, and rap, and chrome wheels... There is only county and st8 patrols, and they aren't out stompin the bushes. Even if I was spotted coming or going, I'm a salesman, and I would walk away no PROBLEM. If the hillbillies that own the land the early spices caught me, maybe a different problem. Might be splitting the weed with them... That wouldn't be so bad, but I am splitting it with the dude who is making the fall harvest disappear as partial pmt......

Hey the thunderstorms gave me a chance to shut down the hid's, and take some pix.

This poor dog. I got him ~18 months ago, scared of A LOT of shit. Safer to sleep... He is ~10, 70lb pit that could do some damage, but starts to SHAKE after 20-30 min of thunder. Fire alarm?? Fergetabowdit. Publicito... He is my snuggle buddy. Like a stuffed animal come to life. Would either tug of war, or lick face ALL DAY...(lik bit of noisy boxing, and I wouldn't want him to really get pissed. His teeth are all fulkkin broken and SHARP, and he is a big boy... LOL if we are 'fighting', and I show him my teeth, he lies down and closes his eyes...

I wish I could put up REAL pix of the dogs. That's ALL of my pix. Weed, Dogs, and a lil nature...

Here is the side by side with the different mediums:
sideby33days.JPG

Today is day 34 of 12/12.
The coco plant is the LARGEST, no question. Main is ~3' tall, and (3-4) 2' branches. The buds are still very wispy, probably the wispiest at this point.
coco33.JPG

The hempy plant is a lil shorter, and the nodes are a lil closer. The buds also look a lil more developed (thicker), but no frostier. All 3 are JUST starting to produce resin. It's gonna be a long ride (11/12 wks prolly).
hempy33.JPG

The coco mix was stunted, and I think the stunt made her drink a lil slower, and I didn't realize and let her dry out properly, so she stayed too wet for a week after the stunt... ugh. I gotta let em AT LEAST get 3-4 nice big (2-3") roots before I transplant/flip. Looks like it still should yield OK, but the other 2 got big, and if the buds are the same size/density, they will double up on this plant.
cocomix33.JPG

I have lost track of what they eat. mostly lil shots of EJ bloom, pbpsoil, b-1red, age-old bloom, bubblewater, pee and stale runoff diluted 10:1, rainwater, whatever. If I see a def., I'll start to get on a schedule. They all look nice and healthy, the cocomix is smallish, and the coco plant is stretchiesh. Keep in mind, this is my first experience with this cut (not hungry at all, but hasn't burned @ 1/2 strength like the pakalolo/ssh male).

Here is a SuperSpice (sat) cut that is a few days ahead of the side by side. I THINK she is 37-38 days:
superspice37.JPG

Probably done stretching, but starting to produce resin. Smells A LOT like the iffy. In 3.4l cocomix. MAY be a better comparison, give her ~4day veg and 'in' date head start on the other 2, but lil less medium....

Here is the 1 of the 2 big SuperSpice (indy):

EQ and MMG boys. Gonna chuck the MMG, and use the EQ. Parts are developing QUICK, no joke. EQ f2's, EQ x shit EQ x Spice, EQ x MMG, EQ x Superspice, EQ x iffy... EQ x MW????

Here is the female EQ. Today is day 1 of flower.
