Where would we be without them?

As I celebrate the Winter Solstice, I take the opportunity to look back on what was accomplished and what remains unfinished. I consider what is worth taking forward and what should be left behind. During this time, I watch, "It's A Wonderful Life," and consider with gratitude how we have influenced and impacted each other's life. It would not happen if not for the previous generations. So, I want to honor my Grandparents today because without them I would not exist. Wopila Tanka!

Surname is Vera from outskirts of Barcelona on my mother's side

Very nice tribute to your Grand parents Mu. Likewise your words on winter solstice - i like that you utelise the longest night to contemplate important things as well as have gratitude for your life.

Too often a winter solstice I have been lost in the drums, mantras and chemicals of festivals.
Other than festivals, it is not really celebrated or talked of much in my realms. I find your take very refreshing Mu and it is one I might adopt as my desire to get lost in festival crowds far lessens with my age.

Love this post Mu. I often think about my grandparents, my Dad's side died when I was young so don't remember them much, but my mom's side I Have many fond memories of.

They always told a great story, that my Grandfather who was in the air force was offered a spitfire for 50 pounds after the war as they had so many planes. He declined, which is a shame as that plane would now be worth over 3 million dollars 🤣
