Secret Jardin - The Original 60

I bought at a discounted price during black friday deals a Secret Jardin, The Original 60 grow box.

I'd like to share what I think about it.

Here are two pictures, one of the box and one of the open box.

It comes with a nice manual, and it is easy to set up.
The reason I started this thread is to warn that it is loud in my opinion, not something that really fits my living room. I am used to pc fan noise, but it does not mean I like that.

You can not trim the speed of the 3 fans, the extraction fan is ultra loud, no way anyone would like that noise in the house.

Overall I am happy because I got it at a very good price, but at the not discounted price, with this noise, I'd a little bit unhappy.

I will try and see if I can find better fans to substitute these, they are 24V fans.

I have assembled in a two tray setup, like the one on the right of this picture:

Cool & very nostalgic but quite small at 60 cm (23.6") × 40 cm (15.75") × 116 cm (45.67"). If you're a daily toker, you'll need to run a perpetual grow. What type grow light will you equip it with? HID or LED?

After taking a closer second look at the actual photo on the right, it looks like it's equipped with 2 LED bars. It looks like the lights were on when the photo was taken. I never noticed that earlier. What's their wattage output, if I may ask? 🤔

What do they say about a picture? That it's worth a thousand words? I guess that all depends on the quality of the picture. Found this video that 'splains' the Original 60 way better than any pic possibly could:

The Original 60: Assembly of the Secret Jardin All-in-One Grow Room

The presenter says the next generation of fans will be 2 speed, if I understood him. He says they will come with 3 settings: 0, 1, 2. Not sure what 0 means, but I assume it means off, or or zero speed.

Since this video is now 9 months old, maybe the new fans are out by now?

20W per led bar.

It has 3 levels, for cuttings, seedlings and veggies but 20w for vegging seems low at best. Looking at your photo, on the right, it looks like the top shelf, with the one LED strip, is for seedlings; and the other 2 strips (40w) on rope ratchets for adequate veg production.

However, 60w for flower seems to be on the low end. Have you seen decent flower grown in there with just that 60w? Will those connecting bars only hold 3 bars? Or is it possible to attach a fourth strip to them?

However, 60w for flower seems to be on the low end.

At least it is in North America. Over here the 1000w HPS is more popular with the old school growers, but I recognize that the old school European growers prefer the 600w HPS instead. 60w LED per 60×40 cm would be equivalent to growing with a 600w HPS in a 1.2×1.2 metre (4'×4') box; roughly speaking. Whereas a 600-650w LED is considered roughly equivalent to a 1000w HPS bulb, in terms of overall production and quality.

An additional 20w per 60×40 cm would work out to roughly 480w in a 1.2×1.2 (4'×4') box, which is about the minimum I'd prefer to run at; but it will certainly be interesting to see your end results. What will be the first strain that you run in it?

you could attach flex ducting to the extraction port and put the fan outside the room with a bit of ducting on the other end for a ratio like: tent------------fan----->
