Question about brown Calyx on stem

Hi guys, hope you are all keeping well. I did have two plants going at the moment, but the purple hued one (found in this thread https://mrnice.nl/forum/threads/early-stage-bud-rot-or-buds-turning-purple.18431/) did end up getting bud rot so I had to pull it way too early unfortunately.

However, the other plant had no indication of rot, and to ensure that it didn't spread between plants I had separated them. When I was chopping the purple bud rot plant, I did notice that many of the Calyxes on the stem had started to die off, and I think that it may have been these dying that triggered the bud rot in the previous plant.

I just want to check with you guys, is it normal that the stem calyx die off? Here is a pic of the healthy no bud rot plant, but it is starting to show the dying stem calyx similar to the other plant. Is this normal? Pics are kind of hard to see but the brown calyx on the stems are what I'm wondering about. Thanks guys!

Yes brother totally normal. And if they are directly on the stem with no bigger bud formation around no need to worry.
These have been preflower pistills, or early pistills and have completed their lifecycle already. As long as they are not in the midst of a formation they wont harm anything but you can just pull them off if that troubles your mind.

If youre into seeds and have pollen stored you can dust these as they emerge before the flip (most plants show early pistills at a certain biological age even before flip to flower) and flip a little later.
This way you always end up with a few seeds. Comes in handy if you dont clone much and later find something you like.in.that plant...
