Nl5HzZu on the Diesel train

#4 doesn't seem to be drinking hardly any water 🤔. Last watering, I barely watered an 1/8 of the amount I usually do becuase of her still being pretty wet. Normally she is bone dry. Today, her soil is still pretty wet.

The other girls have slowed their thirst a bit, as well. Nothing like 4 though, and she still is showing a decent amount of clear trichs even though her flowers physically "look done".

The girls got their 🚿 tonight. It's been 3 days since their last watering. Normally they are getting 💧 every other day, but I delayed the watering becuase they have reduced their drinking.

Either next watering, or the watering after, #2 will be chopped. She could go longer, but my heat going out snuffed out the clone before she could root. I'll need to reveg this girl, and I doub't I'll be able to if I leave her much longer.

#4 is finally in the the cloudy phase, and I saw a few ambers, though I couldn't tell of those ambers were on the flower or sugar leaf. My gut says let her sit another week or two, but her sugar leaves are starting to die and shrivel into the flower. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that increase my chance of budrot while flowering and drying? I'm thinking that I should chop her in a few days when the others are watered.

If I chop #4 and #2 at the same time, this would aid in slowing downy drying process as both ladies would contribute to the tents humidity. I'll still be running my De-humidifier in the same room as my flowering plants. So more plants, slowing down that dry would be great for flavor and a smooth smoke. #2 gets chopped early enough to reveg and #4 would be less likely to mold.

Should I chop#4? What do you all think? I don't want to ruin these months of hard work and care at the last moment becuase I harvested too early, or too late.

Btw, #5 is looking good with basically cloudy reichs and a decent amount of amber. She is showing alot more amber than last watering, and only a few pistils haven't fully matured.

#3 smells like she is done. I think it was @Swifty who said that they will know the plant is ready when its smell peaks. Well, this is the loudest she or any of them have been, and with the most complexity. Most of the other plants aromas are now waning. I've notice the last few waterings all the plants have gotten weaker, while this watering and last watering #3 has smelt the best she every has.

Knowing when to harvest is so subjective and difficult 😤. I always seem to miss the peak harvest window. Usually I harvest too early. Or with my OG#18 I grew, way past the ideal window. Perhaps I'll break into my jar of SSH thats been curing for nearly a year and think on it 🤔.

It is always difficult to predict the best harvest time if you grow them for the first time imo.
Harvest a part a now and leave another part a couple weeks longer?
Do leave a nice cola, you want to compare the same quality.
I do incorporate smell also next to trichomes and overall looks when deciding to harvest.
When harvesting indica dom's trichome color is my dominant factor and with sativa's it is the smell.
No science here, just my experience!😄

They look beautifull Diesel.

Thanks for the advice, Swifty. That reminds me, I have a flower from pheno #4 in a paper bag, somewhere.... 😄 I'm gonna pack it into my Crafty, first thing after work tomorrow! That'll be a nice test.

I smoked a small test flower from #4. The smoke was smooth despite drying in a paper bag. Surprisingly the 3'rd and final hit had a bit of it's green onion aroma in the flavor. I didn't feel much from the early sample, but it did make me smile.
