Bud Porn

These are of the #2 Pheno ready to take the cure. In the the jars to sweat a while and finish drying.Some lemony fruit smells, but nothing great...yet. Last two phenos are drying some then into the jars. They both smell more now and promise more after a proper cure. Thanks for looking.

Bud porn

Thanks Arpege, some good gear. Thought I'd post some last pics of #4&5. These have been in the jars for about a month now. #4 is the larger of the two. All phenos were worth growing but only #2,4&5 made the first cut. All have been cloned and some are currently in flower the rest are headed out of the greenhouse on or about the solstice. I will post some outdoor shots as they progress. I have high hopes (pun intended) for this as an outdoor strain. They are all good producers on thick healthy stalks. Judging from the preflower, I think #s 2&4 will be early enough to finish outside in this clime. They went 8 week under the lights as plants from seed,should be a touch faster as clones. # 5 may need more time and will finish in the GH.

Fishdog nice thread . your plants do look similar to the ones I had . I still have one lady left . Very stinky bitch . fruity pine with skunk ass .
I will be watching to see how these do outdoors for you . They should do fine maybe harvest early to avoid any mold issues . Good luck

Thanks Yesca, your keeper sounds like my #4 pheno. Good producer. Just cracked 11 beans of CM (100% germ!) and am curious to see if they can out produce my MKS. Outdoor pics soon. Just getting them out of the greenhouse now. Sucky spring here. As they say here in New England, "We got two seasons here... 4th of July and winter, with mighty tough sledding in between."

outdoor pics

Quick shots of some of this summers outdoor. These are my MKS phenos in order #2,4 and 5. They have lost any similarities and become more distinct in their lean. Two and four are big producers, #5 not so much but it does have the most of the MK flavors and will take the longest. The other two should finish easily outdoors but #5 is green house bound. Deeper smells this time after a very easy cloning. Will have to cull two from the herd when the CM I'm working on now blows me away. Hard to believe it will outproduce this strain. Looking forward to the fight :D If only I had more space....

holy geez;
those are gonna be big mammajammas:p

Good work FishDog;
are you still smokin' that dank indoor MKS you yanked a while back?

Thanks Tapioca, Yea, still got a bit I have to nurse till the next batch is in. Have to "gift" most of the good bud in return for donations to keep the farm
up and running so I haven't been getting the best of all my efforts. Keeps me happy and the real pleasure is in the growing so my rewards are great and I get fewer complaints about the size of the electricty bill when I come up with some extra $. Don't think I dried and cured the first batch very well, so I am looking forward to the next run and a better cure for more flavor. The cuttings have settled into what is I think are their true forms and are mature geneticly. Production seems to be on par with the seed plants, but more smells. Will try and post some pics of latest indoor grow.

BTW the two MKs in the first photos are in straight unamended promix and have had nothing but rainwater for about three weeks.

They're doing awesome for it!Sometimes trying to do too much will muddy things up for them.(and give you more to do than what is necessary as well:p)

Good stuff about them taking on a stronger smell.I hope you get to the bottom of this phenomena and come back to share with us.

Thanks for posting on the MKS.I ain't too far from ya (NB),I always wondered how this strain of MasterKush would fare outdoors in an Atlantic climate.Yours seem to be lovin'it!

Thanks! I am excited to see how well they grow here. This season has been brutal!! Have you gotten the same shitty weather we have here Tapi?? We have had nothing but rain, heavy rain or enough humidity to feel like it's raining or...oppressive heat. Welcome to climate change.Oh yea..and it's slug season ...AAARRRGGG! Slimey little bastards won't get my beer though, I have vowed to find an even nastier way to dispatch the buggers. The pots are 10 gal. soft pots and if you have not tried them I would highly recomend them. I have several grows where I have used them with great success. They promote a dense root ball with no circling. Lots of small roots in a dense root ball. Very few of the larger thicker roots, which function more as anchors and lots of the small roots that do the job of feeding. Added bonus is that in heavy rain, they will just shed the excess water where ever needed through the side of the pot. They never seem to be waterlogged, wet, but never soggy. The roots of both are pushing right through the fabric at the bottom of the pots. I have tons of free plastic pots and feel that the softies are def worth the $. My present indoor grow (which includes two MKS) has several pots that have been stacked. I vegged in three gal soft pots then slit the bottoms and stacked that on top of 10 gal pots. Seems to work great but may not be be of much advantage except to save space or raise a plant into the canopy.

Hey FishDog;
Thanks for the deets on the soft pots! I was thinking of buying some for use later on this month/start of August (before flowering kicks in)...will definetly look into it!

Yeah,this year is pretty bad.Late spring/early summer was so cold.And the rain you're talking about basically rot the strawberries like crazy.(They were so mushy!) I guess we can't complain too much;in Ontario it rained so hard and so much people were rafting along highways to help evacuate those in need.And in Alberta there was so much flooding that sludge has sunk into people's homes and such (with residues of sewage,gasoline and other nasty garbage)...sad really.And crop destruction! Floods like that will rot the wheat and drown the corn.(and those poor people's cannabis too:(.)

Oh well,what can you do when you live in a shoe?

Yeah,slugs are a pain.I tried using pennies at the base of the stem.Doesn't work I don't think.Have you thought of acquiring some Diatomaceous earth?Next time I go check,I think I might stop at the feed store to see how much the stuff costs.You sprinkle it around the stem and base of the plant.It's like sharp sand ; once the slugs cut themselves on the sharp particles...it drains their fluids from them:eek:
There's also coffee rinds or salty seaweed you could try...but these I don't know wether they work or not.People say crushed eggshells,I've tried those with different plants than MJ... it didn't work.

peace FishDog

I am not good at smells. I have a hard time isolating one from another once I get a nose full. My room has several different strains in it at a time so the smells tend to confuse. My latest batch of bubble hash had a lovely orange aftertaste. It was made with about half MKS trim. None of the other strains in that batch have orange to them, soooo.. I think I have been able to isolate it to the MKS. Have to kinda look deep under the skunky odors that pervade, but it's there under it all. Possibly they have developed more as the plant matures or they are easer to detect because I am looking for them? (or hopeing?) Will update as more finishes up. Thanks for looking, here's a bit of #4 porn on chop day.

This one looks nice mate, looking at this strain myself

do you know if any of the taller more open structured sativa framed phenos
produce more kush like buds, this is what i am looking for , i do not like bushy indica shaped plants so much

peace :)

They are in there. As allways, you will have to wade through a bunch of the more indica types but all three of the ones I am still running have some "kush" to them. As Captn. said, there are some 10 week plants that are kush dominant. My #5 pheno has become more sative like as it has gone from seed plant to clone and the #2 has become less indie like and opened up. She wants to be tall and has more of that kush look to her buds. #4 is the stinkiest of the bunch and mostly skunk. All of them have become more dissimilar as they mature and I feel I will get even better results with the cuttings. BTW thats #2 in the pic you like.

#s 2&4 on July 27 AM #4 is the black pot #2 the grey. Only rain water since the were put in those pots and set outside. I am about about to put the food to them as I'm loveing the prebud and feel it my sworn duty to encourage it.

MKS Outdoor update

These are pics taken 8/11. The two on the right of the first pic are the #4 pheno and the on the left is #2. The #4's are budding and the #2 is heavily prebud but not as far along as 4. Indoors she goes another week and has the more "Kushlike" buds.
