Fall Fest, AI Fails, and a Glut of Weed
Having pictures of a party is great for bringing back awesome, fun, memories. The person running the party and the bands is not the right person for this. Maybe a photographer or someone less involved. I have a digital camera that can be set for ‘Manual,’ not quite DSLR manual but you can set the Big Three of Photography – Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO. If I was reading the manual right then there was a setting that did auto-focus and I could change the Big Three if needed. As I would be shooting in daylight, night, and stage lights, I would need some flexibility but autofocus would be very helpful as there was as good chance that I’d get too fucked up to see let alone focus a camera.
When the camera first came out it was called ‘computer-assisted’ as it makes decisions automatically for you. But the truth is, like search engines, it is really AI. For some reason, many companies will use almost any word but AI. Scary, that AI. I noticed the next day that of 150 pictures that I had taken, 140 were out of focus. I gotta call big AI fail here. Of course, the 10 picture in focus were WTF did I take this picture?
Bronson getting ready to introduce ‘Glass Pony’ but first he is announcing that we are holding a raffle. In the last update he is holding a roll of raffle tickets. He had some and thought that we should hold a raffle to raise some money for the bands and to offset party expenses. Great idea, Bronson. I had a better idea. Let’s fix the raffle so that one of us wins it and we save money on the prizes plus get all the raffle money. I wasn’t a Pirate for nothing! I was voted down. The raffle would be fair and square. Dang it! There were 3 prizes and 1st winner got 1st pick of any prize, etc. The prizes were, 1) a framed picture of one of the bands logos, someone had done with needlepoint stitching on velvet and had the band sign it. Very nice. 2) a merch package which included your choice of a t-shirt from each band and a CD from each band. 3) The final prize was a Glass Bong that a local smoke shop donated and I donated an ounce of OG Kush I grew last year to test the bong out.

Glass Pony - "psychedelic groove circus". It is looking a bit like a real stage in the yard. I work most Glass Pony shows and as the drummer lives very close to me, she picks me up and drives me home from each show. For that, I am her personal roadie, security, whatever she needs, I’m there. Such a great job!

Brian Mangini sitting in with Glass Pony. He is in the next band and many other bands. I work many shows with Brian as he lives very close by. Same deal, personal roadie, keyboard players have a lot of heavy equipment so generally an assistant is very helpful. Been working with Brian since 1992. Brian also gets flown around the country to play in tribute ‘Elvis’ and ‘Doors’ bands when a good fill-in in needed. Sadly, they don’t fly me.

Our friend in the grey sweatshirt grew this. It was ‘Orange something’? Like most people, I only took 2 hits. Shortly after that, I was so high I thought the ground was shaking, like an earthquake. He has been growing outrageous stuff since high school – late 60’s, early 70’s for us! Lol I went to listen to the music and asked a friend; “Is the ground shaking?”. He said, yes, the band is loud and their sub-woofer is shaking your yard! The next day I was told they could hear the music in town, 2 miles away! Sometimes it is hard to tell exactly what is happening when doing mushrooms so it is good to have someone you trust around to explain things lol

In the meantime, the plants don’t give a hoot about any of this, they got their own party going on. The plants are pretty much done growing and now just waiting for the buds to fatten up. I did a decent job keeping them small but I like bigger better. We’ll see if I can get them a little bigger next year.
Baby Fugly – These G13xAfghan Skunk F2’s have been great. Trying to bend the plant and keep it small, well, it got kinda mutilated, hopefully I will be a bit better next year at shaping plants.

Star Dawg #1 X G13xAfSk - looks like one of the plants I tried to manifold but I started too late and had never done it so I gave up. Not sure what this shape is – a row of buds up top and a row of buds halfway down – what is this? I think I will get more yield than if I did nothing?

CBD Girl Scout Cookie #1 – something about this picture I like a lot. Just waiting for her to fatten up. Oh yeah, no bugs or eggs on the undersides of leaves is something I like!

There is just a glut of weed around here. You can’t give it away. If you give someone a jar – they give you two back. Give them a gummy, get two back. I have a Medical License so I am allowed to possess 5 pounds but with a harvest coming in, I am near the limit, I can’t give it away, and of course I won’t break the law, sooo, I’ll burn a few bags in the twin fireplaces tonight when we start the fires. Should make the neighborhood smell like…..Victory!
