many thanks PERIPHERY they're beautiful buds....been a fan of Kali Mist for a while now but only from the smoking end of things, just recently i'm learning about the different phenos and variations within the strain.

it's definitely near the top of my grow wish list
very little chance for me to try highend strains here but anytime i'm on mainland europe i'm always trying to find strains with a similar taste.....a while back in c/s Willie Wortels in Haarlem, i had some Amnesia which had the same spicey aroma....yum

can you recommend similar strains? or you a Kali Mist only type fan :)
cheers for the budporn :p

One more hi dotzero!!

Yea..Kali has a very specific aroma, and mainly taste..
You are Indoor or Outdoor grower?Because fastest pheno
Kali Mist(10-11weeks from clone) is suitable too for Outdoor..
My country is in 48'-49' north latitude..My mothers & too clones
are in 24/7 regime..I plant out My clones(12-20cm high) between
15 july-1 august..After 8-15 days came in flower..And finished-ripen
early-mid october 80-120cm plants..
Here's photo new-tiny 'indica pheno' mother, for good friend..
IMG_2153_749_x_562_.jpg

If are you Indoor grower..I advice you sativa pheno(12-13weeks)..Very spicy..
Kali_Mist_harvest084_749_x_562_.jpg

Next unique spice aroma with touch diesel is Casey Jones(Head seeds)..
Or My all time N.1 genetics Nebula(Paradise seeds)..Is composed of
US Haze dominated genetic line and Ingemar's Master Widow..And
Master Widow is White Widow cross in the 13th generation developed by
Dutch breeder Ingemar..For Me most potent strain..Very easy grow &
unbelievably stable genetics..Long lasting cerebral sativa high..HUH!!
And were ripe after 9weeks of flowering..

Take care!!

Periphery - That last pic (next to the phone) is classic. Beautiful buds!! :D

Very thank herb! I follow up your girl:p Next time you'll have more...;) :D

After many questions, debate & calculations about Kali Mist genetics..Simon "betrayed" a little info in Serious seeds Homepage....>

The genetics of Kali came not from known plants within the growers community, and I should know this as I put them together.

The first Kali Mist seeds ever were already made by me before 1993 and were sold at that time by a seedcompany (cerebral seeds) predecessing Serious Seeds. Indeed, a partner of that shared company later started another seed company (sagarmatha) and used those original Kali seeds to create 'western winds'. Yes from those first Kali seeds, as he didn't have acces to the parental stock. Cerebr. seeds only existed for a short while; the exact same Kali seeds were later sold by Serious Seeds from 1994 onwards.

Those were the first Kali Mist seeds and it seems that you are referring to those. This is a long time ago however, and although not impossible I wonder if you grew these.

What you do not mention at all is the fact that Kali was already altered around 1998. At this point I thought it was an improvement but it was not. People at that time complained about the loss of the typical sativa high, much like you do in fact. The combination of genes of th '98 version did carry more 'indica' in the genome. That constitution was again substituted in 2000 for the present Kali seeds which are for sale till this day.

The present Kali Mist seeds gave rise to several price winning plants and do carry more than 90% 'sativa' genes. On the bud pics of the living Kali plant in Monkeys article one can clearly see the narrow leaf shape sticking out of the bud. And take a close look at the structure of the bud itself; at first glance it seems a relatively thight bud. But if checked upon closer one can see clusters of flowers forming little spiraling structures (or small 'towers' as some people describe it). All very recognizable and sativa-like for people who are familiar with it and very different from 'indica' or even a hybrid between those two.

Also the description of the buzz which Monkey describes is clearly sativa-like, and comparable to the Kali available in some (good) coffeeshops in Amsterdam which is still grown from clones of the original same Kali plant also used back in 1993.

Further proof of the improved quality of the Kali after 2000 is the article written by GBI and published in Weed World magazine (oct 2006 nr 65). From a pack of Kali seeds he grew plants and discovered that the Kali still is the outstanding product he also remembers it to be from the early nineties. And this is a true journalist writing his sincere opinion (which made him not liked by some seed producers and organisors of festivals, even denying him further acces to certain fairs).

This and more feed back i get from people do strengthen me in the opinion that the Kali was and still is one of the very best sativa plants available in seedform today. May be the seeds you grew were not the true Kali we are talking about here, or might have been the '98 version of Kali. Difficult to say, but off course one is also free to have a different opinion on this matter. As we all know it is hard to discuss about differences in taste.

Awesome pics & grow....I was actually thinking about growing Kali Mist and Sensi Star together because they seem like they would complement each other very nicely. My question is: Will they grow well together under the same light given the height difference (not sure exactly the differential but i'm sure it's rather substantial) and different flowering times???

Also, if you know, how does the Kali Mist compare with Neville's Haze, Super Silver Haze, and Arjan's haze in terms of potency, euphoria of buzz, yield, flowering times, and difficulty of growth? Thanks a BUNCH in advance ;)

Kali mist seems to be one of the few 'Seed company' sativas that can hang with the SSH, MH, and NH. Ferget the arjan's anything...

Any 1 of those 4 plants is the cream of the crop.

As far as growing the SensiStar next to the hazes, it will be VERY difficult to do w/o separate veg/flower rooms. The hazes will grow very tall compared to the SensiStar's. You will have to 'train' the hazes to keep them short, or continuously raise the SS's. Otherwise the light will end up too far away from the shorter SS's.

Run some SSH's. You will find plenty of variety, and some plants will deffo give you a feel for the 'haze' (longer flowering, taller, loose buds, soaring high, DELICIOUS haze smell).

If you only have 1 room, you can start the SS's 2-3wks ahead of the hazes. The idea would to be to let the SS's get taller before you 'flip' the lights to 12/12.

That's what I feared : That the Haze will steal all of the light and leave the SS lagging behind.

So, of all the hazes, would recommend the SSH if I was going to grow a haze in addition to SS? And about Arjan's: I have heard bad things about it and some good (mostly coming from Arjan - go figure, but some from growers). What about it isn't good in your opinion? Thanks again barletta....Your insight is most helpful !

just came back for another little drooling session over your lovely bud shots PERIPHERY and thanks for the info.....
i'm an indoor grower and finially saved up all my pennies and got some Kali seeds.
i can only hope then turn out half as sweet as yours.

thx again :)

Excellent, the best Kali Mist grow i have seen, very informative thread Periphery.
Great job rescuing your girl, thank heavens you found her in time, some people eh!. Thanks for sharing, Pepè

I love kali mist

yes a very goog strain only avalaible at serious seed company.

whot grow and smoke western Wind ? Is it Kali mist or just a parent ?

As for the seedpacks..Has the price dropped or is it the same now?
If its the same price..then the reason..greed perhaps?

Everyone does that nowadays, Sensi did it a few years back, its all greed in my opinion.
But i got 18 seeds in my pack from MNS, not all are greedy.

I bought some kali mist and white russian last year and it then I heard it sucked, lol. I guess we'll see. I'm probably not going to get them going for a while, but I will pop them eventually.

Nice work dude, I love Kali Mist, have done since the first trip to 'dam. I've not grown it yet, but your pics inspire me!!
