I Blame David Gilmour

What benefits you get when you germinate seeds by putting them in the water like in the photo?
I been more familiar with the whet paper towel inside a closed plastic bag .

I'm not going to pretend it's some big brain method. Honestly it started because I wanted to use a 2% H2O2 solution for germination. It's just a method that works for me personally as my dexterity is impaired. Especially for DWC run or when I don't feel well.
I like to monitor the germination process (for fun), it's a very sanitary method. I can pour individual seeds right onto final media at the desired time. Fewer lost, dropped, or spilled individuals.

I use the vials for seed and pollen storage already so can simply clean and reuse them again.

Now you can see the depths of my depravity (just don't judge my vintage salvaged microscope too harshly)

there are no major breackthrough in regular microscopy since Karl Zeiss (totaly made this up to look smart) so i believe this thing is lit.
