they look like some kind of orb weaving spider, fairly harmless in my neck of the woods.
Im more worried about fennelwebs in my shoes or redbacks in the engine bay.

Just a general note on the stupid shit that people keep as "pets,"

You know what a house cat is like when it plays rough or is pissed off. Extrapolate that to a tiger.

Then with arachnid's more specifically, people keeping things, like death stalker scorpions (one venom component might have value for brain tumors though) When there isn't even a domestically available FDA approved antivenom....

Just a whole lot of "not thinking things through"

At least we are too big to be an ideal food source? Silver... lining....?

And as per North GA... I'd still worry a hell of a lot more about the coral snakes. They tell the Army Rangers, that if bitten, just cut it off if you want to live. Serrated teeth, and they pump it in.
