Hi all MNS Family,
After 2 long and struggle filled weeks here is the Day 49 (flower) update.
I had honestly meant to update more frequently but circumstances and illness have prevented me from doing so.
I am now on the mend so updates should be more frequent as we begin the run towards the end of flowering.

Here is G13 X AC #1 -
Short, stocky indica growth pattern with minimal stretch.
Smell is fruity with a hint of citrus and although the photos can't do it proper justice the resin on this plant is incredible.
Clones of #1 have also remained short and stocky - even though they have been encouraged to stretch - so it is definitely a trait of this particular phenotype.

Keep it green,
TF

This plant is still my favourite.
It is absolutely covered in resin and has the most amazing fresh, fruity, lime / lemon scent with a hint of spicy mango.
I would describe the smell as tropical fruit punch with a hint of skunkiness / herbalness. Almost, good enough to eat!
Clones of this have stretched in the same way the original seed plant did and I am excited to see how they progress over the coming weeks.

Enjoy,
TF

G13 X AC #3

Lends itself to a SOG approach.
Minimal side branching and seems happy to let its central cola dominate proceedings.
This plant is not quite as resinous as its sisters but has a unique personality which marks it as slightly different.
The smell here is plain 'skunky weed' - probably somewhere between what I would expect from an indica / sativa hybrid.
I have a feeling this may be a 'dark horse' when all is said and done and I have high hopes for her.
Clones of #3 are extremely vigorous and have a good amount of stretch.

Enjoy,
TF

G13 X AC #4

The outlier in the group.
This plant has been tough to dial in and exhibited minimal hermaphroditism after week 3 of flower. This has since stopped so I am putting it down to a grower error on my part, most probably a lack of light to lower limbs as the tent became increasingly crowded.
Smell is lime / lemon / fuel.
Good resin coverage. Another 'dark horse'?

Hi all MNS family,
Here is the Day 57 (flower) update.
I have been a little on the ill side for the last few weeks so haven't been able to dedicate as much time to the plants as I usually would. Thankfully my health seems to be full restored and I can continue in earnest.

I never like to pamper initial seed runs as it is my belief that plants should be able to show their ability without being pushed.
I cut all feed to the plants around 10 days ago and as a result of this the plants have faded a little quicker than I may have otherwise have liked. This now tells me that on future runs certain plants will need more N throughout flowering alongside the usual P and K. It is always my policy to err on the side of 'less is more' to avoid over-feeding and not allowing a plant to fully express itself on initial runs.
Also, as this is a test run there were very clues as to expected flower times so I worked on the assumption that it could be anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks.
Another benefit of this approach is that the flavours are generally greatly enhanced.

Here is G13 X AC #1.
Short, stocky and the most indica leaning of the 4 mother plants.
She has a lovely fruity, skunky, almost berry aroma. The resin coverage is very pronounced.
Here clones are also following a similar growth pattern.

G13 X AC #2

Still my favourite.
I had to pick a couple of stamen out of the main bud earlier this week.
I am not sure what caused the issue but it seems to have resolved itself for now.
This plant is picture perfect. The resin coverage is off the scale and the smell is fruity, sweet, citrus.
The top cola is heavy and dense and is struggling to support itself.
A definite winner so far.

Previously described as a 'dark horse'. It is definitely living up to its moniker.
The plant is really finishing strongly. The resin coverage has continued to explode and the scent is now citrus - lemon/lime with a hint of berry and a touch of haze. I am really intrigued by this plant.
It also has the most vigorous cuttings as you will see below.
This is one plant that can really eat so in future runs feeding schedules will be adapted accordingly.

The 'other' 'dark horse'.
This plant has a similar scent to #3 with an extra something 'darker' and more astringent hidden in there. Resin coverage is superb and it has a definite 'sativa' look and feel to it.
I am really looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Due to space issues I only kept one cutting of the #4 and passed the other to a close friend. It is nice to spread the love and also ensures that I will have extra feedback on this particular phenotype from another grower with a slightly different (still 100% organic!) set-up.

Hi MNS Family,
Here is the latest update on my small sample of G13 X AC.
After being a little underwhelmed (dare I say it) during the veg and early flowering period I have to say that things definitely seem to have clicked.
Plants are now at Day 35 of flower and we are definitely entering what I like to call 'the fun zone'. By that I mean the plants are really hitting their stride and beginning to show their true colours. I am impressed with the similarities between all plants and if I didn't know otherwise I would question if they were all clones of the same mother.
Smells so far are fruity with a hint of citrus and some other underlying berriness, whilst resin production has really started to explode. I'm not detecting anything particularly hazy in terms of smell or structure but I will say that I am really looking forward to the remainder of the journey.

Clones of all four seed plants have been rooted and have been placed immediately in the flowering tent. This is to test their ability to flip into flowering and to see what kind of stretch they show.
Updates on their progress will 'soon come'. What I can say is that they seem to have a very similar structure to the mother-plants so far.

G13 X AC#1

As previously reported the plants did not stretch anywhere near as much as I anticipated. That means they are all short, stocky little resin bombs, with #1 being the shortest of the bunch. Smells are roughly equivalent to all the others.

Hopefully the impressive resin production is visible in spite of my dreadful photography skills.

The photography is not bad! Quit being so hard on yourself! 🙂. Another thing that goes a long way is editing. If you’re taking photos on your phone watch a YouTube video on how you can edit the photos using the software that comes on your phone or find a free photo editing app. Bringing up the brightness and the shadows a little can go a long way!

Yes, there is an art to photography strictly utilizing the camera through it's settings, the framing and lighting and then there is photo-editing which manipulates the photo after the fact, including combining many photos into one, inserting backgrounds, etc. Photoshopping has come a long way.

I managed to see your photos through your albums and they they look much better there than here, not that they look bad at all. You get a better view of your original framing of the plants, and the tips aren't chopped off as some seem to be in this thread. If I was you, I would play around with different types of lights and see which gives off the best colouring in the end. Try taking photos with them in or near sunshine, fluorescent tubes, certain LED lights, focus a flashlight on the plants or specific parts, etc... Otherwise, great thread, you're a pioneer with featuring this strain :)

I think my issue with pictures has been to do with the fact that I am posting them as the thumbnail rather than as larger images.

Hi
Impressive @The Flea, I Like the looks of 2,3 and 4. I see that they show the sativa side now that they are well into flower.

How do they smell?

Greetings.

Hi Swifty,
Thanks for checking in.
In terms of smell -
#1 = Dank and skunky with a hint of citrus
#2, #3, #4 = all have a similar smell which is sweet and citrus. When I was growing up in the UK we used to have a tube of sweets called Refreshers. If I imagine smashing a tube of those sweets up into dust and shaking them around in a sealed bag and then opening it - that is the smell.

Not overly helpful if you've never had or heard of Refreshers but that is the closest smell I can relate it to! There isn't really a 'haze' scent but they do smell amazing.

Keep it green,
TF.

Hi all MNS Family,
I am sorry the latest update has taken so long. Strange things have been happening to me ever since I had an extremely mild covid illness at the end of June.
My brain seems to have changed and I go from huge bouts of euphoria into the deepest possible black hole within minutes.
Last week wasn't great, this week is amazing. Hopefully more good times and less darkness are to come.

Anyway, on with the update.

Here is G13 X AC #1.
Short, stocky, indica dominant plant.
Has a lovely dank and skunky smell with a hint of citrus (lemon / lime). This plant is an absolute resin bomb.
Looks to be stacking on the weight in preparation of it's finishing. The plant stands at 50cm and has not really stretched at all since being placed into flowering.

Clones of #1 are a repeat of the mother plant but possibly even more resinous. The buds are a little leafy but that doesn't bother this gardener.

Whilst I am working away adding pictures and comments I like to have some music to help me concentrate.
The track for #1 was - Butthole Surfers, Pepper
