Fast Mango Haze?

Hi Everybody,

I'm currently flowering 3 Mango Haze, 4 Dreamtime and 7 ASH. Much to my surprise one of my Mangoes seems to be the fastest plant in the garden. Here are some shots from today, day 41 of 12/12. She smells of plastic, glue and unripe mangoes. Maybe ready in less than 60 days of flower? What do you think? 8 week pheno from seed? I've seen the clones come in that fast but not a seedplant, yet. She vegged for about 6 weeks, was showing sex in veg, so I assume that means I won't save that much time on her clones. Regardless, I'll be happy to sample my first Mango Haze a couple weeks before I expected.

Hey king,

your fast mango looks great and..really fast hehe Guess the long veg helped with the speed plus it seems you got a nice pheno thats frosty as well. I had 2 plants that were similar to yours, one was the most indica looking MH I had finished first and was seriously frosty , with nice n big calyxes. The other plant I had I refer to was very similar in smell with what you describe , glue/paint smell , took a bit longer than the most indica pheno and was more hazy , one of my favorite MH f1s.

There seem to be 8weeker plants but most take longer and smokewise I personally prefer the most hazy ones..so many great plants to choose from in this line!

good luck with the rest of your grow and looking forward to the results

keep it up!

I think the fast, small and frosty MH phenos are the NL5 side of this hybrid. MH = skunk/haze + nl5/haze as far as I remember...

Loved it... mine made me drunk when smoking it. The first joint of the day with this had the same effect like a beer after sport. Straight to the head...

Hope you took a cut, still bite myself that I didn't a year back.

Gracias Amigos!

Hi L33t,

Thanks for the kind words and all the info man! She really turned my head today when I went in to water. The rest of the plants in the garden have a bright white sheen... but she is a glittering gold oasis. The resin production has really been kicked into overdrive the last week or so. She doesn't look to be much of a yielder, not that I won't love her just the same, especially if she has a hazy high to go with her cute little indy nugs. Some of the most potent plants come from the crappiest yielders, no? :D

Hi nOpe,

That's a very enticing description, beer to the head after sports, wouldn't mind that one bit! You can bet I took clones, she and her sisters are getting at least one more spin. Thanks for confirming my own thoughts about her being nl5 dominant. I don't have experience growing the building block cultivars so I'm pretty ignorant about what traits are from which parent. Anyone know of a book or someplace online where there is a collection of pics/descriptions of generic traits for landraces and ibl's? Learning this stuff piecemeal from all different sources is challenging(until, that is, I get around to growing them all)...

Here's some pics of my other NL5 pheno, much chunkier and slower, and my hazy lady(I think she'll outyield the others if I can keep her contained in the corner).

Firstoff, I can't confirm that it is the nl5 pheno. I'm a grownoob, little more then a year under my belt and I've grow a few strains from shanti, black widow, mangohaze, ash, nevilleskunk.... side by side with sensi seeds stuff and whatnot.

I think I know a little how shantis haze look like, and I saw the skunk expressions in the nevilleskunk. I still have to bloom the skunk to be sure, but the MH phenos we are talking about look diffrent, so it has to be the only thing left, nl5...

About the high, wake and baked the last 2 day's (holiday ftw), the MH high is much clearer In your head then alcohol and fades away a lot easier because it's nearly no body stone. Zero couchlook.

It is the clearest uphigh I ever produced... and I love it. Worlds between the high of a black widow and MH. BW allway's brings a little of that indica muscle relaxing tiredness...

What's up mrsmokey?
Thanks for stopping in.:)

Here's some flower day 1 pics for you. I forgot to measure them that day but think they were about 36" from the floor. Stretch on MH5 and MH6 was about double, they were lst'd a bit and stretch was equal to my ASH plants, quite manageable. MH2 on the other hand just doesn't want to stop, she's probably nearing 7 ft, going to tie her back down under the light tomorrow. Smoke reports to follow...

nOpe...That sounds great man! Can't hardly wait.:D Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can correct us 'bout the nl5 pheno if need be, and maybe they can tell me what the hell I'm growing in my dreamtime thread!

Hi King :)
Nice plants friend, Mango Haze is a very worthy variety. Her sister line SSH should not be over looked either. I found a hybrid of the two last season I felt was very indica dominant, ie favoring the NL side towards the bud formation. Ultimately of course its how she performs in your bowl, Ive found every single one of the females to be exceptional smoke. But there are some girls who stand out more than others.

The day before the knife!

Hi Jesse,

Thanks man! You know, I strongly considered purchasing SSH instead of the Mango, it was a tough decision. My choice was based on the notion that MH is more cerebral than SSH, and I had already planned to purchase ASH to fulfill the role of stoney haze hybrid. SSH is on my list of MNS strains to grow, along with about 20 others. It might take me a year or two but she's going to get her turn.

So I'm planning on chopping MH5 tomorrow, day 52. She could go longer, but I need the space, need the buds, and all my dreamtimes and ASH have got at least another week. I'll run her clone longer to compare anyways.

I just vaped a teeny sample of ballast-dried popcorn... Wow, much more than I expected from a quick-dried pinch of fluff. I thought my sample was too small to effect me as it crumbled quickly into just 1/4 of a vaporizer bowl portion. Electric, euphoric, up-high, with slightly trippy visuals and a tingly body buzz, oooh that's nice, can't wait for a proper sample! The vapor had a very soft mango flavor too!:D

MH5 all chopped up!

Thanks Gert!:)

I'm pretty stoked to have a quick one, wasn't expecting it. Hopefully I can get her clone to yield a bit more, shouldn't be a problem with some topping and training.

On chop day, day 52 of flower(after 6 weeks veg from seed), I found about 60% cloudy trichomes, 35% clear and 5% amber.

Smoke report to come! :D

Moderately Quick Mango Haze?!?!?!?!

Thanks Rows!:)

Hi Everyone,

Well, I decided to chop MH6 today after a couple days of darkness. Seems to be a slightly chunkier NL5-type pheno like her Fast sister. Speaking of her speedy sis, MH5 smoke report soon!

I was just wondering if anyone could speak to how typical those type of phenos are? I need a good mix of head and body in order to combat celiacs disease, and this looks like it might fit the bill (Not necessarily meaning typical body, more of that euphoric haze body high, it seems to keep me feeling good for a long time). I already have a pack of SSH and Master Kaze to satisfy some of my cravings, I just love the look of these and people seem to think the Mango is something special indeed. If I don't get this im thinking maybe the angels heart...

Smoke Report--Fast Pheno

Hi Everyone,

Just ran some of this fast mango through the vaporizer. Very tasty and a nice stoney effect, with good potency and really clean finish. The 90 minute high just wore off, and despite being really stoney I feel quite energetic now that it's worn off, no lethargy at all. Nice for a little siesta and back to work.

Mango Haze #5
Veg: 50 days 24/0
Flower: 52 days 12/12
3 weeks cured

Flavor: caramelized mango w/ a hint of spice
Resin coverage: 9
Potency: 8
Density: 8
Duration: 1.5 hrs
Yield: crappy! (41g)

not uplifting high at all
67/33 i/s

Effect notes:
clear
dull
heavy
wool wrapped around head
sloth like
relaxed
dopey
happy
clumsy
disorienting
face-numbing
haze in the background
surprisingly good for playing music
:)

hello mate,

I find that t the Haze effect needs a fairly long cure before it really takes off.

Best not to jump to too many conclusions RE uplifting euphoric vibes as of yet...

good show

Pure hazes need a good 4-6 month cure, and haze hybrids are best if cured for at least 3 months imo
