DP White Widow from 2005 in Comparison to Black Widow 2020

Ptree

2021 COE Winner
Hi, originally this thread had to be about crossing Dutch Passion White Widow with Mr.Nice Black Widow.

To tell truth, Iam canceling this project :D beacuse i bought so many seeds on Auctions :D, but will still leave DP WW here, so I can do a comparison of those two strains later this year.

end of 1st week of Flowering scheme

Girls aproaching end of first week flowering.

Doing great, my F2 w.widows are still bushy and BW starts to be really nice right now !!

WW1 (up right foto) is perfect in my mind, still slight skunky scents, and female preflowers already poping - some faster pheno id say.. yep, just like her mother once at 2005 !) incredible - definitely one to pollenate.

WW2 (up left foto) started more as a christmass tree and now its looking more likely the same as WW1, but a see some tripling nodes 8( on it, i dont like that, cause for friends with greenhouses, its bad for mold, so will not breed with that one EDIT: I ended up with that / had no other choice).

BW1 bottom left foto wow, wow, and wow... Those leafs,, those leafs are something. And the smell, did I already say it is well scented as fresh melted coffee ?
Something i never expecterd from theese plants. But really like fresh melted cofee :D !!! I want her for breeding. OMG yes I do.

BW2 bottom right foto started more as sativa, and still is. I dont know what she'll become. But no smell so far. Nothing special about her right now.

So at first I tought my WWs are males,, no they are not...

But (ffs) i need some male here :D
And I would love to BW1 be the the male... I pray for it xD

I'll try to make some better photos of each, definitely once at flowering.

aproaching the start of 3rd week flowering

WW1 female
- is adding on flowers fast
- slight sweet, slight floral, skunky smell
- very indica dominant with small-medium central cola forming
- nice bushy christmass tree, neverending branching
- small leafs that are between dark and normal green
- very low overall height

WW2 male
- fast adding bigger male flowers even on nodes, bigger leaf to flower ratio
- rubbing smell is sweet, overall smell slight floral, not stinky at all
- very indica dominant with nice central cola
- nice bushy christmass tree, neverending branching
- small leafs that are dark green to slight blueish hues
- 90% copy of WW1, (10% mainly for top cola difference)
maybe good posibillity of another inbreeding

BW1 male
- slow growth of male flowers (just started)
- rubbing smell is sweet, overall smell at first 100% coffee, then more sweet
- nice hybrid structure
- some nice slower branching, not overbranched as much as WWs
- big and nice beafy leafs
- we have to see yet, hope for pollen collection is in time
we will see if this guy loves WW as gf, and makes nice childs

- I have lot of work this time, so will add photos later, so you can see, what I think I had perfectly write about

So now I think of next inbreeding to make more seeds of my very stable WW,, but also that lovely mating with BW1.
-hope it will end well-
I have to get it done very carefully tho.

And for the future, if that IBL I make looks good enought, I will maybe probably cross it with something purple, maybe it could be PCK.
Still dont know, as this work is far from done.

-photos later-

WW1 - female

Here she is...
It seems like my F2s, those seeds from 2005 are pretty stable, cause every plant look like cloned. I was very lucky with pollination i think, or this was pretty much many times backcrossed plant once bought as F1 i think.

WW2 - male

Now, the male side of things. This is it, once i saw that kind of male, I urgently find a way for making pollination. Nice setup of male flowers. Tjey are everywhere and are fast and big. Dont know if it can be seen on fotos tho.

BW1 - male

From fotos, this male is not that much to see. But I can garantee he's good boy.
The smell of coffe is definitely thing I love the most, then the leafs, they are very Indica dominant, and I love it. Hope he make it in time.

Also I would love to give my widow some of „LOST“ traits back. And how better, then with parent actually more related to. In some way it could have be Backcross, from my understanding of things, but then on the other side - Who knows how Dutch Passion got WW in their hands.

F2 WW pollen donor fotos

Actualization.

WW1 is very impressively building many new white pistiles ready to accept pollen.

WW2 is opening few pods, so i made first pollenation of two branches, those were marked, so i know. And he is away from room now. Will still collect pollen from him, as I will repolenate those two branches again in few days.

BW1 started producing more pods, so I think he will make a few branches too, hopefully. He has a very nice smell, dont know what to tell it is actually. But i like it and I overall like the plant.

Uploaded some fotos of our 1st pollen donor.

Others in few days.

Non MNS Widow WW1 _ female

:)

I like that from just few F2 seeds, I was able to find one female that is superbly reincarnated once F1 female.
edit: And I wonder, if it will have tha bud shapes too. Cause F1 had pyramid shaped buds, even top, that was not so much elongated.

Here are some overall views, last one, there are two pollenated branches.

MNS male BW1

Here is our Cofee Champion,
now it started flowering more rapidly, so will see if I make a pollination in time, hopefully.

And yes, this male is making me mouthfull, I cant wait to pop more BW seeds in next round. Will share for sure, dont worry.

You can already see, how masive leafs he has, he is a litlle bit stretchy too, but I want to introduce that part of that trait to my widow anyways, cause its too overbranched I think.
And I can say, its nice rich, but not overpowering in smell. The coffe on top branches. Stem is somehow sweet, but with some other smell I cant recognize, maybe a good male, we will see.

offtopic

I have to promise, next time, or maybe next round, I will take photos with my Nikon, so there will actually be better interpretation for your eyes.

But at first, please someone give me advice on what is best way to upload better photos. Use gallery, or some web stash is better actually?

Hey P3Ci, glad to see things are working out for you with this grow.

Regarding pictures, it's a bit awkward to upload pictures through the MNS site, but at least the photos will still be there (as long as the MNS web site stays up). It's frustrating reading through a grow log with hosted photos when the hosting service is no longer, and missing out on the pictures.

Here's the procedure I use for posting and linking photos on the MNS site.

  1. Save the photo as a .jpg with a descriptive name and at the resolution you want. I try to avoid anything much wider than ~1200 pixels to keep them reasonably sized.

  • Open a single tab to the MNS home screen and click the "Photos" button next to the User CP button. When I do this on my laptop I am already logged in.
Sometimes if I try to do this and I'm already logged in and reading posts I get an invalid redirect message, so I start with a single, clean tab on my browser (Chrome).

  • When you are at mrnice.nl/photos/index screen, click the "Upload Photos" link in the upper right part of the screen, just below the "Log Out" tab in the menu bar. Currently, the red text color on blue background on this screen is horrible and almost unreadable. It would be nice if the powers that be at MNS could fix it.

  • In the next screen, in the "Upload Photo" part of the screen, select up to four photos to be uploaded, and if you wish, enter a default title for the photos. When done, click the "Upload/Submit" button.

  • You're not done yet. Click "Process" on the next screen.

  • The uploaded and processed photos are now in your Gallery. Left click the first one you want to post in a thread, then click on it again when the larger image appears. A new browser window will appear with the photo at the resolution you originally uploaded.

  • Last step...now right click the photo in the new window and select "open image in new tab". Now go to that tab in your browser and you will see the URL of the photo in the address bar. Copy that URL, and paste it into the little window you get when you use the "insert image" icon when creating or a post. If all goes well the image will appear in the post, at that location, at the resolution you want.

That plant looks great! Happy, healthy, and tight. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

BW1 - male

Hi, thanks for stoping by.

I made 2nd, 3d and last 4th pollenation of two branches with WW1 and WW2. Hope it will not end up with whole plant pollenated,, as always :)

BW1 made it and opened first male pod.
I must say, from nothing he went to very beautiful plant.. he streched a litlle. But nothing to worry. As you can see my F3 needs a bit of strech.

So now i must focus on another branch pollination, and there we will have cross of WW1 and BW1..

Oh, and BW2 male was discarded, cause it would be for rope making, it overgrowed very rapidly.

This is what I called Nice from nothing (in few days, this happens ))
BW1_flowersite_detail.jpg

Some profile, litlle burnt beacuse it stetched directly to LED, now he is safe outside
