When you say one grade below are you referring to the screen size?
The screen size can vary giving a similar quality depending on the cultivar. 'Semi' is usually referred to a quality grade that is just below the 'dry' grade which from my understanding resembles near full melt. Best drysift will be juicy and you can see the mostly intact resin glands while good semi, still insane quality, has a more homogenuous texture and is not the same purity and the resin glands are often not so much intact. Above both thrones the static which resembles high quality dry that has been cleaned from even tiniest bits of non resin plant matter in an additional step using static electricity.
I have witnessed different mesh sizes referred to, and resembling drysift, quality wise.
semi usually has no reference to mesh size either.
Have also witnessed semi thaz was still a very high quality but probably different mesh sizes mixed in 1 batch.
