Deachs indoor grows, to infinity and beyond...

Sorry so long, I've been out of commission and time keeps on flying

Here's photos of my 4 female MH ibl

Here's my 4 females out of 6. I was able to pollinate them with the 2 males. I lost about 15 of the rest of my seeds due to using Hydrogen Peroxide where I shouldn't have, I think. Anyhow, for my caliber of growing the seeds produces should keep me going for the rest of my life.

The MH ibl's I grew outperformed most of the plants in my tent. Not sure the height of my tent rn Prob 6ft), but these fit in very well after growing for about 5 weeks then topping them back at the 2nd or 3rd node. They stretched a foot or two, and generally seem pretty thick

The bud in the second photo (MH#3) has a really neat fuzzy kind of structure, first photo and 3rd photo are kind of the same, really beefy. And finally the last photo (MH #6) is showing very strong looking Sativa traits and is probably also going to finish a few weeks later than the rest. This is the first time I get a plant with this kind of structure, looking forward to trying her out (who am I trying to kid, I can't wait to try them all)

Thanks @Swifty , I will. It's funny, #2 has a branch that has buds very similar to #6. #6 will definitely take some time though. Those pictures were taken about a week and a half btw. Here's a current look at my tent

I made seeds and cloned them, but my clones died while I was away, so I'm attempting to clone the buds of lower branches, which also have seeds in them .

There you go, my CM x BW cross phenos. The most interesting thing that came about here is how the ones in the back outgrew the rest. What happened is after sprouting, I felt I didn't have enough of this strain going so I sprouted a few more. The later ones (at the very back) didn't get topped because they were so far behind, but they got at least twice as big as the rest (the one at the very front, part of the same batch, didn't make it to it's forever home till roughly 2 weeks later). What I figure happened is that the topped ones didn't get any time to recover from the topping because I flipped the switch till 2 days later, which stunted them. So I have good examples of the phenotypes except for their potential in size. The smells I'm getting are grape, turpentine as well as mixtures of both great smells :)

I've harvested most now, there's 3 of 4 MH ibl left in the tent. Here's the first MH (#3) I have harvested.

I think I pushed her too far, started some nanners and regrowth. Really neat nooking but though

And here's CW #5, the biggest of em all, not that size matters
PXL_20240516_203033278a.MP [Desktop Resolution].jpg This one smells like turpentine and something sweet, haven't narrowed the sweetness yet.

I harvested all of the Pink Floyds all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago, didn't get a chance to photograph them. I was going away for a few days and figured it was time. They were quite dense , not sure of the smells yet. Only problem is that they need support, they kind of flopped after a while, stems couldn't support the buds, not that it really mattered to me. Can't wait to try them :)

Looking great  Enjoy the fruits of your harvest (y)

PXL_20240527_210532683.MP [Desktop Resolution].jpg Here's the MH ibl #3 @ a smokeable dryness (no idea where its at yet). Definitely strong Mango smell and taste and a strong day buzz. Very pleased so far. We will see what happens after 6 months in a jar. Meanwhile I will be smoking the seeded buds of all plants I have made.

PXL_20240608_185648332.MP [Desktop Resolution].jpg Here is MH ibl #5, still going after switching the lights roughly 15-16 weeks ago. She's got red hairs as well as white. I'm harvesting according to red hairs for these, but I'm starting to worry as to how long that's going to take

PXL_20240608_185635072.MP [Desktop Resolution].jpgThis is the MH ibl #2, red hairs on the inside white on the outside

PXL_20240608_185620578.MP [Desktop Resolution].jpgAnd finally, the MH ibl #6 which is nowhere near done

So I've cloned them all and seeded them. I think I'll keep the #3 to see if it may have hermed because of environmental reasons. She's good as well as early (ish)

@Swifty , btw, they all turned out having great mango smells in the end. The #2 that you liked also seems to have a vitamin smell as well, which I like

That's it for now, sorry I don't have much time to come around these days. Keep on rockin folks 🤟

Careful, I've read some of those hazes will continue to out off pistils seemingly indefinitly. One of my SSH continued to stack new calyxes and pistils closest to the light, while the rest of the plant was ready.

No need to aplogize, life happens. Thank you for catching us up and sharing. 😄

Thanks for that Diesel840, I suspected that but I've never heard anyone talk about it here at the forum, and its new to me. I'll give em another week and chop them down, except for #6, I suspect she'll be a 20 weeker. Unless anyone has other ideas

Shortening the lights on period can help induce ripening. I've read that Shanti suggests putting the longer flowering girls to the peripheral of the tent to finish. Hopefully our more experienced growers of Sativa Divas will pitch in.

looking great Deach! :)

Not the easiest to grow the long flowering pheno's but I saw great potency and high's with long legs in these pheno's.

Only did a couple of grows, so far from an expert here, but i would shorten to 10/14 and dial my light down from 100->70/80% from now on.
This means short days and colder temperatures.
Don't feed them any N anymore ( in fact I would give them plane water now).

Hope it helps!

So, as far as my last indoor grow goes, they have all been hanging since, around 60 as far as humidity goes, I havent spared the time to bottle them yet. I'll cut off a small sample from one of them daily and they all seem to be at least 8 on my 1 -10 rating scale.

My Critical Widow doesn't disappoint, the taste is fantastic with a good high. The Mango Hazes have wonderful tastes and smells, with very strong potency. I'll be trying to dial them in on my next indoor grow coming up in a month or so. The Pink Floyds are also quite strong, but I am a bit disappointed with the taste/smell. Not that it was bad, just not outstanding like the others. I really like the Critical Mass tastes and smells, and I guess I was probably hoping they would come out in the samples I grew. Great weed, I just had some expectations that were'nt met (I shouldn't have expectations in this game. Life is better when all is new).

The Nevil's hazes I had growing Have a great high, but I potted them too small, I thought they would've grown more than they did, from what I read about AC Hazes. The MH ibls did do that, but as Shanti pointed out a while back, my NH kinda looked on the indica side. So maybe it wasn't the conditions that made them that way but genetics. So as a result, the nutes i mixed into the soil were too much, affecting the taste. I'll be trying to dial them in again, but I only have one version of NH left, the other mom died from neglect. But I did pollinate them originally, so I'll have seeds to work with, for many years to come

I've grown a number of Critical Mass x sativa hybrids. I would suggest looking at what other phenos there are and exploring the F2 generation a bit before giving up on finding what you are after. Critical Mass tends to shine through. I would be profoundly surprised if there were not some ultra-yielding, Critical Mass flavored Haze phenos in there.

Yeah you're right, good idea. That's one thing I haven't gotten around to yet, is dedicating a grow to pheno hunt. Problem is I have so many strains I want to try, I only wind up doing samples of about 5 to a particular strain.

Its easy to do (just to go from one variety to the next.) Some gene pools are definitely more rewarding to dive into than others. On that, there is no accounting for taste too, I suppose. However its kind of like traveling and the difference between passing through and really spending time in a place. The two are not the same experience. Then growing something and dialing it in to perfection, grow, harvest time, and cure, are not one and the same either.

When it comes to plants, there is something to be said for doing your own selection. The end result almost always perform better for you. Than what you got from the breeder. In part, because part of the selection process was innately preferring those plants, that do the best in your hands. So whatever your grow conditions are: they become part of that selection process. Also, in going through a large volume of seedlings, it gives you the opportunity to really skim the creme de la creme.

Then there is the old expression: a jack of all trades is a master of none. Yet also: variety is the spice of life. So to me, the question is finding the middle ground.

If it were this strain in question, and part of your criteria were some Critical Mass flavor in the mix. What I would do is to sprout as many seedlings as I were able and then only keep the ones with the fruity stem rub early on, that also expressed reasonable to high vigor and narrower leaves. That would narrow the search considerably, culling all plants, that don't meet those conditions. Then select (actually flower the ones that remain) from there. (the proof is in the tasting after all)
