Cannabis Nutrient Deficiencies & Excesses

I find it very hard to pinpoint deficiencies by looking at cervantes' pictures.

Dont get me wrong, they are somewhat helpful but can also cause newbies to
misdiagnose the issue and get into perpetual phantom hunting mode leading
them to add this or that extra nutrient which was never missing (perhaps just locked/unavailable)
in the first place and thus making the problem even worse.

In the real world, normally multiple deficiencies/toxicities occur at once from one or more causes
like over/underwatering, pH being off is a huge deal specially when people just follow some
soil mix recipe and eyeball the amount of lime to add without even knowing the original pH
they were working with or not allowing the due time for lime to act and stabilize the media's pH.

Even the environment not having enough air circulation can be the culprit.

That's why I recommend that newbies always use a growing medium that:

1) is sterile (pest free)
2) is pH balanced
3) has good water retention
4) has good drainage and aeration
5) has low EC

and use time released ferts like osmocote, basacote etc in their first grows.

This averts so many potential issues and ensures an almost headache-free grow.

After a few grows those people will eventually migrate into organics, but the word organic
is much abused IMO and as always there will always be a lot of marketing gimmicks
involving organic products in order to push unnecessary products but that's a
whole new topic and a can of worms I dont intend to open right now.
