Nice job. What are the phenotype differences in your batch?

I think they were mostly sativa leaning seem to be quite leggy. They’re taking a long time to finish too, I switched the lights 13 weeks ago but under the microscope I still don’t see any redish trichomes.

cut them today exactly 15 weeks after changing the lights, strong citrus smell.

I left them for 36 hours in the dark and then cut the whole plant at the stem, it’s now hanging upside down in the grow tent. I’m tempted to leave the extraction fan on at a low speed just to remove the smell but I’m going to wait to see how strong it is, I’ve a small oscillation fan at the bottom to move the air on low.

Hi Iorrus

the plants look a little bit not so healthy if i look at their leaves and structure, and 15 wks flower seems a very long cycle....so are you sure there were no light issues or timer faults? The smells of BW normally strong body fragrance with oniony hints and then fruit in the background....so maybe once you dried things and used the material it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. But thanks for sharing things always happy to see the community exchange info and photos....so cheers all the best Shantibaba

Hi Shanti,

I made a lot of mistakes this grow, as it’s only my second semi successful one. I had them in too small a space originally as a result the temperature was too high and I burnt them quite badly. I also didn’t give them enough airflow and they're fallen over (I thought the extraction fan through the charcoal filter would be sufficient), they had to be supported as a result. In addition there are quite a few fungus gnats in there, I thought they were harmless but after reading a bit more maybe not. My light is also a very old led (pro grow x5 300)

This definitely wouldn’t be representative of what they can achieve, but despite all that the buds look and smell quite good.

im mainly posting looking for advice and don’t want to make your stuff look bad with my incompetence lol so maybe I’ll delete this thread If possible.

Hey iorrus
Please don't be dissheartened mate
It's all a learning curve
Everyone starts from somewhere
Man some of my early attempts, you don't even want to know
Things go wrong for even the most experienced growers
And no matter what level of experience things can be missed and mistakes are made
Your part of an amazing community who are more than willing to help along the way with great advice and suggestions
Stick around and you'll be growing the goods in no time
Enjoy the fruits of you harvest

Well said

Hey brah! Congratulations on your baptism! As @sensient said, even the most experienced have things go wrong from time to time. Our greatest learning comes from those particular grows. Through your sharing you help us all. Respect. Thank you for that. BTW lots of resources here, your braddahs are but a pm away.

I found that White Widow (the original sibling of Black Widow, not the later one from GHS) to be one of the easiest strains to grow indoors and outdoors here in the PNW. It was also the easiest to root and clone of any strain that I have grown. At least the clone of WW that I had from a large medical grower here in the PNW. Growing indoors under lights can be tricky though. Heat, humidity and ventilation are all issues. You need fans running all the time indoors and you need to cut down on the humidity. Or you will get bud and stem rot. Which is how I found out that WW was so easy to clone. I tried a horizontal trellis grow of WW under lights one winter under long floro tube lights. But running stems that direction invites any condensation to collect along the stems instead of running off if they are vertical. And that will always lead to stem rot. Stem rot will kill anything above the section of infected stem. So I had a lot of WW tops on a soon to be rotted out stem. So I took 20 or so clone cuttings, figuring that maybe half of them would not root or die off. Well, none of them died and they ALL rooted out. Being a plant person, I cannot easily toss out rooted healthy plants. Unless I do a 100+ seed run testing germination or the like. Anyway, I had many WW clones that year. They grew fast after moving them outdoors in the GHs. I sold them off to several other medical growers that spring. It was legal to do that here then. To sell excess plants to other medical growers. Not sure if that still is legal to do that in Oregon. The grow laws in Oregon change every week and the way the laws are written they are rather ambiguous.
