the G13 cutting was crossed to a skunk male in the early 90's when the G13 cutting seemed to be on its way out. Nev did several crosses to combine the genes before the plant became extinct in its pure female form. So I went on with several of these lines one is G13skunk(female) combined with the widow male(same widow used for the BW, MM ,La N and SS).

As Wizard mentioned, I believe the g13widow is infact G13/Skunk x Widow male. Glad you stopped bye my man, thanks for allowing me to post your pictures in this thread.
Edit: There are in fact G13xWidow varietys without the hybridization of skunk involved. But there are also G13/skxwidow varietys to my knowledge. However I retain the right to be wrong as only Shanti or Neville truely know.
Looking great Wizard, do you have any close ups of them in flower?

It is early days,about 2 weeks or so in,at the moment,these pics are from the the day we turned to flower.
I'll have an update of my Tomb,next week,I do this grow from remote control,

My caretaker is called Captain Caveman,and he told me a few days ago,that they have formed a nice canopy,now!!!Can't wait to see them,GSkunks,

Okay, just in the interest of keeping this thread as up to date as possible about the information surrounding G13, here is some new and incredibly insightful information about the breeding of Mr. Nice G13 varietys.

well it is always the start of a certain misinterpretation if I do not nip this bud as you all have valid ways of looking at the information stated, in my opinion.

Nevil worked for some years with the female clone G13 until it died.At this time he combined certain traits to gain original parent lines to preserve the G13 in a form that would express its genes. He passed me many years ago a seeds already to go on with...and before that I had passed on male pollen from the widow and the skunk#1 I was using...as we both did on several occasions.

When I got those seeds from Nevil they were labelled G13/sk. I therefore did a selection and combined the selected female to both males...skunk#1 and widow.But Nevil had also done a combination with the G13 to the widow pollen as well as the skunk #1pollen and in fact several others like G13/haze, G13 /ortega...and a few obscure others.The work I did was interbreeding then combining the 3 generation interbreed with the orignal male again...thus adding the strain description with the extra male label.During the interbreebing stages the main criterion was to select for G13 traits and not the Skunk, but considering all of you prefer to be definite as far as possible with the origins I liked to explain all the possible influences that the breed could express in F1 form.

Since this is not so simple to explain as breeding sometimes is it was simplified to the current description. Let me add I still have those old seeds of Nev as well as several lines of interbred seed at different stages so everything in my work can be replicated.As for the work from Nev, it cannot be replicated as there is no longer the pure G13 female. Hope that clears up as much as possible the ancestry of this question.All the best Sb

This is like getting presents on Xmas day to me, because this information is incredibly interesting and insightful. Im just sitting here stoned, running through all the varietys discussed here, and the method for which they were breed and contemplating what this information means and easily a handful of questions arise immediately. I think I could pick Shanti and Nev's brain for hours on end about just this one particular subject.

So the orig cross from Nev,Shanti popped some beans,selected the best Female,crossed it with a #1 Male,the resulting seed was interbred 3 times(correct?)then crossed back to the orig Male #1,resulting in F1's?

The G13/Sk x Widow Male is easier to understand,I think.

From the sounds of it, it looks like Shanti interbred the selected G13/sk females 3 times then combined that generation with original father plant(sk).
Seems a little tricky at first, but in the beginning shanti says he received the G13/sk from Neville already hybridized(G13 x skunk). Then he tells us what Neville was up too, then gets back to the point it seems and says what he did was interbreed the selected G13/sk 3 times then cross it back to the original father plant. While interbreeding the variety to itself 3 times, Shanti was looking for G13 dominant traits in each variety before interbreeding it once again. So essentially, we have a selected G13/skunk mom inbreed 3 generations for dominant G13 characteristics and then re pollenated with the original father.
If it took you three times, please forgive me if Ive got this all backwards as Im stoned and it isnt exactly addition and subtraction haha.

Update on a G13skxSk. These were started under flourescents, but only briefly and are currently vegging 18/6 under a 400 watt HPS and have been for almost 3 weeks now.

Again the same two G13s, I do have another but it started out very slow and retarded almost. Its just now perking up and looking like something, but far behind these two. Both of these have been cloned and the clones are rooted. So if they turn out to be anything worth while, all wont be lost.

ive seen a post by a guy on another site showing his original pure g13 plants.
he got given 2 clones from the guy at sensis cannabis castle in 1986 and has kept them alive ever since.
if this is true and it does sound true then hes the only person who has come out and proved hes got original g13 alive to this day.
he invented a sifting machine and pics of his machine was in high times mag. i think he gave a couple to the sensi seeds boys and thats how he got the cuttings of the g13 also 2 nl#5 cuttings.

Here's a little history

In 1984 myself and a partner developed a product called the motorised master sifter. Basicly it was a wood box that held a motor attached to a wood frame with a sieve. The bottom was lined with glass. You put all your leaf or bud onto the frame, turned the dial to the appropriate amount of time and let it shake. All the trichomes fell onto the glass where you could collect it. High Times contacted us and they did a feature on it and it even made into " the best of " issue !!!! Shortly after we were contacted about providing one for the FIRST ANNUAL CANNABIS CUP as GRAND PRIZE !!

We left for holland and took 2 more units with us.... ' THE MAN " at cannabis castle was so impressed with our product we worked a trade

2 x nl #5 cuts and 2 x g13 cuts

At that time g13 wasnt known at all but he said it was the best he had !!

We returned home and my partners cuts dissappeared when he was raided by the police in illinois. He did 5 years and that was the end of the master sifter.

hiya organic herbalist only person to have both i belive was nevile and shanti as in mr nice the g13 died but nl5 is not lots lay claim to both and they dont even come close as for high times i wont go there im trying to stay carm and lower my blood presure now days.

But the best person to ask is shanti as he has the inside info.

i assume when the guy said he done a trade with THE MAN at the cannabis castle he ment neville.
there was 2 guys who made the sifter and one of them got 5 years jail and that was the end of the sifter. in that time the pollenater and other systems came out so i guess thats why they never carried on making them.
